Starr has been very accommodating and has a fountain of knowledge when it comes to handling brachycephalic dogs (flat nose). I'm glad there's no larger dogs to contend with, and not worry too much of his safety. The location is further out of the busy and hectic town area so your pups won't get too bothered day or night with that kind of activity. I highly recommend to check out Starr and her ranch!

Hello Yelp! I have a two year old pug that is MY SON! The way we found Dogs Life Boarding was…read morethrough a stressful and anxious search for boarding places. We reviewed online and even went to some in person. One we skipped because play time included wayyy too many dogs (big & small) and the conditions just looked awful. And other places look like they accept ANY dog, no matter the temperament, and seemed very overwhelming. I remember crying because not only was my spouse sad that I no longer wanted to take trips because of my worries for Howl, but also because I felt so guilty leaving him, and would play terrible scenarios of his days alone like being neglected, getting hurt, etc. I made it my life's mission to find a good place to stay and after a while searching, I found Dog's Life. It was an hour away from us but at that point distance didn't matter and we just wanted to find some comfort so we drove there as soon as we could. From the second we met Star I felt a sense of RELIEF! She explained her boarding process, the fact that she limits the number of campers, and only accepts dogs that are a good fit for each group staying over. She's also extremely attentive to the dogs needs and keeps us up to date with photos and videos which I desperately needed, especially the first few stays. We went shortly after again for play camp and we're so ecstatic that we found such a good place - especially because Howl is a pug and Star specializes in brachycephalic breeds! THANK YOU STAR, our quality of life (and howl's as well) has improved so much since finding a trustworthy sitter. if anyone is considering a place for their loved one, this is it!!

I few months ago I took my family on a hunting trip close Kyburz. Upon our arrival my boxer fell…read morefrom a tall rock and unfortunately broke his left rear leg. We arrived around 9pm so needless to say it was a horrible night. The next morning we left and since we are not familiar with the area when we finally got cell phone service we got online and looked for the closest emergency vet. We found several but when I explained our situation nobody would take us in. Pollock Pines Veterinary was the only one that said to bring him in. The break was so severe that it required surgery and unfortunately the surgeon would not be available for at least 3 days. We were able to keep him comfortable with medication given and it almost seemed like he didn't even mind hobbling around with his broken leg on a splint. The ladies that run this facility made every effort to contact every and any other vet hospital from Reno to Sacramento that could attend to him sooner. No one was available for several days. We finished our trip with my boy all busted up but in amazingly good spirits. We were finally referred to a specialist in Sacramento that was able to surgically repair his injury. He is fully recovered and bouncing around like he's a puppy (he's a 5 year old boxer) Thank you to all you ladies at Pollock Pines Veterinary Hospital for your exceptional service and care you gave my boy! 10 stars and then some for your professional care!

This was the worse vet I have ever been to. I absolutely will not ever go here again. I read a…read morereview (after the fact) how this doctor was very arrogant and condescending. I am here to say they were absolutely correct. I usually dont give my negative opinions on a business . I just chalk it up to a bad experience. But this is one I could not shut up about My dog had eye surgery and he said I took the cone off to early and he would need to do surgery again. It's been about a year and a half and no problem with the eye. I even took her to another vet to make sure. Please do your research on vets. If you care about your pet and dont want to get taken financially then you may want to choose another vet. In conclusion, I will pay anything to fix my dog which is not the point here I think she and I deserve better bedside manners.
