My wife and I were in Anderson Indiana for an event and decided to stop by Perkins for a late lunch. We were seated right away by someone who appeared to be a manager. Very friendly and courteous but his pants and shirt were dirty with food stains. Not a good first impression, for sure. Our waitress came over quickly to take our drink orders and ask if we had any questions about the menu. My wife asked about gluten free (GF) options, and our server promptly brought over a special GF menu Service at this location was excellent, however the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a three egg omelet with mushroom, tomato and onion, mashed potato with turkey gravy, and fruit cup. Wife ordered baked potato, tomato basil soup, and green beans. The omelet was tasty, but as you can see from the picture, it did not look appetizing. Also, kind of small for a "three egg". The Mash potatoes were the highlight of the meal for me. The fruit cup was awful. yuck. Wife liked the baked potato, but thought the soup and green beans were way too salty. I tried the green beans and had to agree. Ugh.... tasted awful. As you can see from the picture, the soup spoon was dirty, however, the server was quick with a replacement and an apology. In summary, the people who work at this Perkins were friendly funny and attentive and did an excellent job with a pretty good size crowd on a Tuesday afternoon. The food was reasonably priced, but the quality was well below acceptable. We for sure will not be back. read more

I ordered Two Eggs over Medium Corn beef Hash Fruit and BlueBerry Muffin Water w/ Lemon. Manager was my waiter. My order arrived: 2 Eggs Fried Hard Corn beef Hash Home Fries and Dry English Muffin. Totally wrong. They brought 2 more eggs Over Easy(whites runny) Later they brought the Blueberry Muffin. By this time they also brought my Fruit. (Frozen cantaloupe.) I asked to be compensated for the lousy service and meal. He took off $.99. Really you incompetent fool? I asked for a box to take home for the pets the potatoes and English Muffin I did not order. The manager did not seem to understand. I took home the food I did not order and my cold Hash. I should have been compensated for the frozen fruit. There is no compensation for stupidity. My next visit if things go wrong again I will walk out. BTW, I told them to keep the $.99. And left no gratuity. The only TIP I have for this so called manager is get a job you're good at. Aaah...when I saw the sign from the freeway that I was near a Perkins restaurant, I had to stop because I haven't seen one in over 13 years. This used to be my go to breakfast spot when we had one in Kentwood Michigan, however it was shut down without explanation or even a frequent visitor vote. Now there is none near Kentwood or Detroit or Houston....:-/ Anyhow, I was immediately greeted by a kind gentleman named Dorn I believe. I got my favorite, silver dollar sized pancakes and bacon. It was super cheap. Just had to see if I still loved them as much as I did back then and I did! The salted real butter with the maple syrup on the golden fluffy pancakes were just right. I ate them all driving down the freeway while reminiscing of my favorite memories at Kentwood Perkins. The bacon was smokey and cooked just right. All these states without a Perkins need to wakeup! read more

I can not say enough great stuff about this location and the crew working here. They are all working so hard. Everytime and I mean Everytime we have had the best service and great food! If something wasn't right, it was fixed, I think it happened once which I believe was more of just a communication error on our end. The food was fabulous! The service was incredible! We're traveling and our youngest wasn't feeling his best. She was very kind and patient with our table of 8. Also made our son a go box since he did not eat. Very grateful to have such kind people serving. As a former server I approve 100% she definitely set the bar high. The restaurant was very clean and peaceful. We felt right at home. If we're ever back in the area again we will definitely make this spot a go to! Also tip your waitresses good! I was just driving down Scatterfield Road this afternoon with no intention of stopping here but I'm sure glad I did! As I drove past it I realized it was after 2pm and I hadn't eaten yet so I did a u-turn and pulled in. Ordered coffee and the Egg (one) Benedict with hash browns and asked if I could have biscuit and gravy instead of a muffin with it. Good choice. EXCELLENT choice! First they brought my coffee cup and a POT of coffee--so wouldn't have to wait for refills--great idea! The Gravy was so far superior to either Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel that I ended up eating the whole plateful and I think I would've licked the plate if I'd been alone. I was going to eat just half and take the other half to go but just couldn't stop. The egg and Canadian bacon with Hollandaise sauce were also very good and the hash browns were perfect. I ate them last and couldn't finish them. I had no room for dessert but their pies looked very good. I would highly recommend this place to others! read more

Perkins is a regional chain and although I do not by habit rate chains, I opted out to do so here. I was visiting from out of state. I've been to several Perkins restaurants and it has been a long time. Due to the unique experience, and that fact that they closed the one closest to me, I decided to review this one. While I did not get anything from the bakery, it looked as good as I remember it tasting. My friend and I were there for breakfast, and ordered similar items. The only difference being that I ordered off the senior menu. Yes, I did so legitimately. The omelette was just right and tasty. Two full sized pancakes were delicious but too much for my appetite. Food was over priced and not that great. The pot pie was way too runny and it tasted more like fish than chicken. I couldn't finish it because it was making me gag. My husband's burger came out with a cold top bun, soggy bottom bun, wrinkled half rotten tomatoes, and a tiny piece of lettuce that was nothing more than the heart portion of the lettuce. When they "fixed" it, the next bun was still cold, lettuce was still just white crunchy heart of lettuce, and didn't bring out the barbecue sauce that is supposed to be a standard item. You'd think after screwing up the first time they'd actually try to make it right but I guess they like their customers unhappy. When you hire a sub-standard crew, you get sub-standard service. This is a qualified 4 star review. Here's the deal: 20 people walk into the Anderson Perkins at 11:58PM on a Friday night. You would expect panic, very pour service and poor food delivery. Au contraire mon ami! Our wait staff was spot on, the cook exceed expectations and it was a WONDERFUL EXPEREIENCE!! Christy served up a great dining experience, rolled with a raucous group, quickly served drinks, took orders, accurately, and delivered our food in record time. So what about the food?? Well, Perkins is not considered a foodie location by anyone but they served up their menu in a great way! I ordered the corned beef hash with 2 eggs, hash browns and wheat toast. It was hot, tasty and a great decision at 12:30. My wife ordered a breakfast bowl, loaded with tater totes, eggs, veggies and cheese, nicely prepared. Her order came with pancakes and they were warm and fluffy. Overall...you may not get the same service or food when YOU stop by BUT if you ask for Christy...show up at midnight on a Friday...you may just be in for a treat!! read more

It's been over a year since I've reviewed this place. I feel like every time we go, it gets increasingly worse. Today I'm pretty sure most of my meal was microwaved. And my husband ate 1/4 of his large meal because it tasted terrible. It's gotten dirtier as well. I burned part of my mouth on my lunch because it had hot spots in it. Obviously microwaved. NO! This restaurant has a long way to go. I ordered a omelette with a side of sliced tomatoes and a side of broccoli. My fork had eggs stuck to it, had to ask for new. I past on the included toast or pancakes. Some of the broccoli had some nasty brownish parts. Omelette was very bland with leathery eggs let's fluff those up a bit. Tomatoes mushy. I could see the IHOP from where I was sitting and wished I had decide differently. My server was good, she might want to find something better. The water had a nasty taste. Probably over fluoridated tap water. Paid $3 extra for the broccoli, soggy tomatoes included. IHOP next time, I've never been to this IHOP location but I have generally had good experiences. read more

We are in this restaurant at least once every weekend. This weekend I was in there with my daughter and I ordered my usual French toast platter. I found a hair on my initial plate under my eggs. Told the server no big deal accidents happen and expected for it to be fixed. As I received my second plate and start attempting to eat my French toast, my daughter noticed a different hair in the scoop of whipped butter. So I told the server who took the plate without saying anything, then proceeded to bring the same plate back to the table to tell me it was from a pastry brush. I disclosed that I've been a chef for over thirty years and am aware what those bristles look like, and would like to speak to the owner, when he then informs she is the one cooking. Without saying a word and leaving us to no prevail, he comes back to say they took $5.00 off the bill, which did not cover the cost of the original plate. Since I did not get to eat my breakfast, not once but twice, I feel they should've taken the whole plate off the bill, especially since we are there every weekend without complaining. It's not about the situation, it's about how the situation was handled, and unfortunately now, she's lost not only my business, but my daughters as well. read more

Perkins is better than Denny's or IHOP for traditional breakfast fare. The Tremendous Twelve is a great deal at ~$7, and even the hungriest person will have a hard time getting through the eggs, bacon/sausage, hashbrowns, AND pancakes. College students should ask for the student menu after 10PM because they have cheap hamburgers and other items on it. The food and service are nothing to cry home about, and there is really no such thing as a non-smoking section in the restaurant. read more

We drive ONE HOUR out of our way to eat at this restaurant!! We are greeted with smiles. We are served great food with great service. They remember our son's allergies (even though we are not regulars). This time through town we only had time to stop for muffins and cookies to go. They checked the ingredient lists for us and packaged things seperately with no complaints. I highly recommend trying this Perkins. read more

So first time i went there it was late i get it. However that does not explain the hour and half wait to get cold food 10-15 minute s to get a refill so on and so forth. Not to mention took 10 minutes to get menus. This was unacceptable with thew people there that and our waitress seemed as though she was on drugs. Easily one of my worst dining experiences I've ever had. To top it off not one apology or even comping soda or anything.
