The sausage gravy was very salty and did not taste good. I wish we'd eaten at the White Castle across the street. My Wife and I headed to our Hotel in Greenfield, stopping in at "Bob Evans" Restaurant across from the Hotel. My Wife ordered the "Grilled Chicken Chopped Salad"; Grilled Chicken, Feta Cheese, Roasted Bell Peppers, Tomatoes & Cucumbers on Fresh Greens. Also had Fresh Made Pumpkin Bread. I had the "Pick-Two-Combo"; chose Cheddar Baked Potato Soup and Double Cheese Pot Roast Dip (sourdough bread, pot roast, melted american & provolone cheese with home style beef gravy). Delicious French toast, amazing mac and cheese, and great hash browns! The coffee was very tasty! A great little place to have some breakfast! The service was great while we were at the table, however the lady at the cash register was having issues with every ticket before us, so after we ate we had to wait a while in line before we could pay and leave. read more

I haven't visited a Bob Evans restaurant in well over a year. I regret not following my instinct after walking up to the entrance. The windows and door were dirty along with cigarette butts lying on the walk. Upon entering the atmosphere was dull but we were greeted warmly and my attitude changed. We were seated and our waitress was delightful! The breakfast was served. My scrambled eggs weren't scrambled and coated with oil, the bacon was dripping with grease, the fruit cup was the worst, old blueberries on the bottom of the bowl with a couple of apple and banana slices on top. The biscuit tasted like flour. What happened? Prior to eating I went to the bathroom to wash my hands only to find the toilet brush and cleaning supplies to greet me along with the dirty bathroom. In closing, the roof is dark pink and worn, the inside is in desperate need of a makeover, and most importantly the food is below par. read more

We stopped in for Sunday breakfast around 10:00am. We were seated quickly, and the waitress had a drink orders fairly promptly. I got the western omelette. The onions and green peppers were still raw and not warm or cooked. That's just kind of a pet peeve for mine with omelettes. The restroom at this location also smells extremely weird like sewer gas. Not sure what that's about. The service is very prompt, and all of the employees are very friendly. I just wish they spent a Little more Time on getting the contents of the omelette, hot and melted. I am DONE WITH BOB EVANS in Greenfield Indiana. I decided to give another chance, but NO MORE. I made a large order Family size Sausage Gravy, Biscuit Gravy covered with cheese and an egg, cinnamon biscuits and pancakes and 3 sausage links. Totally $44.00. Oh and Coffee. This went to a nursing home. Well MAN how disgusting the Gravy lid was NOT sealed over 1/2 went in the bottom of the bag ALONG WITH THE COFFEE. The biscuit covered with cheese and egg was all over the container. I could not serve the 4 residents that I had planned. I contacted the location and was told " Once you leave the restaurant it's not our RESPONSIBILITY" and was Hung up on. I had my pickup for 10am. I got there at 950am 10 minutes early and the food was sitting on the counter. AWFUL SERVICE, NO ONE SEEMS TO GIVE A CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. read more

First, I live in Austin, Texas. There is not a Bob Evans within 100 miles of my zip code. To be honest, prior to my trip here, I had never even heard of Bob Evans. After this trip though, I'm totally down to come back! It's a nice diner vibe that was super clean and spacious. There's some merch near the front door if that's your thing. They were clearly short staffed when we went, but the ones working were doing great. Everyone who spoke to us was friendly and smiling. They stayed on top of everything pretty well, they made a fresh pot of decaf for my MIL and poured her a cup as soon as it was ready. We all ordered some breakfast fare and were satisfied. The portions are pretty big and the food was so good. The pancakes are worth it in terms of both money and calories. Maybe next time we're up north I'll get a savory meal. read more

The food is excellent. Eggs are fresh and the bacon crisp. I do wish they had a variety of fruit to serve with breakfast, a fruit bowl consists only of strawberries blueberries and bananas. The service is slow to no fault of the waitresses it seems like they do not have enough help, for that I blame management. We are lucky we have a Bob Evan's in Greenfield. So many Bob Evan's are closed in Indiana. They definitely are not the same as they were in their popular days. You used to wait for a table or booth to become available, now you wait (at ours) for your food to come out. Not really sure how this came about but you have the same issue across the road at Cracker Barrel. Not sure if less people are allowed in the kitchen to cook or new regulations about how long to cook certain items? Not sure. The problem seems to be the same, "the kitchen". We still go sometimes, but we are retired and know if we don't have the time, don't go. Service is good. The menu has had a lot of changes. Some for the good many not so good. They used to serve a baked steak meal on Monday or Tuesday and it was a busy night! That was pulled off the menu many moons ago! Maybe they don't like to be busy, just steady? Don't think we would mark it off. Just be sure you have time and something to talk about. One other thing, they used to have the best salads! They were fresh, cleaned and torn or cut into bite size pieces. Now they do just like everyone else and use bagged lettuce. Which most people don't consider fresh but we all eat them! read more

Went there today and was severely disappointed. First of all there were nats EVERYWHERE. I just didn't notice cause they were on the walls. You get to looking around they just surround the place. DISGUSTING. Not to mention I had a coffee, I don't know why there mugs are so tiny, but they don't even come give you refills. I got one refill the entire time I was there. Today 9-10-2020 I had sinus surgery at Saint Vincent hospital in Anderson. Went great, but don't feel like cooking. I live closer to Greenfield's and decided to order Bob Evans off of seamless delivery app. The food was super fresh and fast. And the bags were stapled shut which was nice cause you don't know whose delivering and I've seen a video or 2 of people enjoying some of the customers fries/etc. I had roast beef entree with app and dessert, biscuits and gravy, kids chicken tender meal, side of mac and cheese, Reese's peanut butter pie (yum), side salad, potato soup, vegetable beef soup, & breakfast scramble. This was for the family. I'm just really happy that nothing was missing, nothing was wrecked or looked nasty. And everything seemed fresh and warm. Makes me happy after having surgery to not have a reason to be a Karen! Sure everyone's order is different and when a million people are ordering food all the time your bound to have a bad experience at some point, however no complaints for me today Bob Evans you'd knocked it out of the park. McKenna did an amazing job waiting on us even with the crazy Sunday rush. We were super hungry and both ordered the skillet with fried potatoes, scrambled eggs with sausage, ham, bacon, tomatoes, onions and shredded cheese and hollandaise sauce and a pressed biscuit (I think that's what it was called) anyway, it was so, so good and we both said we would order it again. We were on the road to a gig in central Ohio, and had time to stop for dinner on the way. I wanted more than a fast food burger, but I wanted a burger. We'd not visited Bob Evans in years, so decided to give 'em a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The burger was VERY good. I asked for it to be cooked mediium, and it was cooked medium. I'd not hesitate to order it again. The fries were just "ok". I'd probably choose a different side next time. My wife had a salad...I can't recall which one....she proclaimed it very good, also. The service was prompt and friendly, and the price was reasonable. I suspect we'll be dining at Bob Evans more often...something I never thought I'd say! read more

Absolutely awful. Walked in with my wife, who is using a walker after surgery, the hostess walked past 10 empty tables to cram us back in the sun room area with all the other customers. I'm guessing this was to keep them from needing to clean the entire place at night and to make it easier on the non existent server(I'll get to that in a minute). We were sat directly between two occupied tables, in that sunroom, where there were plenty of other empty tables. We then sat for about 5 minutes, looking at the menu, then folding them on the table and waiting. Another couple gets sat in the sunroom. I'm assuming the manager came in next and of course, went to that table that just got sat and took their drink order. She then came to our table and took ours. She comes back with drinks, delivers them to the other table first, then steps up to our table. She coughs into her hand, then grabs my wife's drink and places it on the table. She then grabs mine, sits it on the table, then walks to the table behind me, coughing and asking them how things were and if they needed anything else. We got up and left. Between this experience and the last one I had at the Lebanon, IN location(which is closed now), I will never set foot in a Bob Evans ever again. read more

The restaurant is understaffed, but the staff they have is excellent. One person I would like to mention and thank is Noah. This young man is like a ball in a pinball machine. He rocks. He is go, go, go and does a great job. Sunday, he had at least five tables and never slowed down going table to table, he was friendly and noticed needs without asking. Noah has waited us the last three times we have visited and he has yet to disappoint us. If I opened a restaurant, I would want Noah and a couple dozen people with his work ethic. Called for takeout. Was put on hold then told takeout order would take 45 minutes. I ordered two cups of potato soup, two slices of lemon bread, two rolls and two pieces of coffee cake. When I arrived, the girl charged me $16.15, then went in back to prepare it. The soup was as ordered, however I was given two thin soggy slices of lemon bread, one thin and one thinner slice of coffee cake; two stale rolls. No drinks. Do you want to read what I have to type for you today? Just having breakfast in a restaurant is not my dad's idea of a good time. He makes a scene. This time is no different. Our host sends us to a four seated table, dad pulls the trigger and says he'd like to sit at a two person table nearby. We get the table. I order Crepes and an orange juice. I said small OJ and the waitress up sells me, twenty cents more and you can get a large. I'm sold. My dad starts going on a rant about how I'm a loser, how I need to get a job. I fire back with how he's a loser and is a home wrecker. Cussing begins to erupt. Mind you, this is all before he goes to church and I go to an audition. Suddenly he starts saying the N word, you know, nigg**. I'm appalled. I begin ranting out loud just to get him to shut his mouth. The food was the only way this man would stop his rant. It arrives. We feast. I ordered bacon too. Three crispy, as ordered, pieces arrive. I finish with eating one of my dad's biscuits and having gravy on top. She has a great sense of humor and we truly enjoyed having her serve our table. Made our exit from Indiana pleasurable. Slow service, and then the order was wrong when we finally got it. Our server I feel was to blame because she seemed distracted when placing our order. After getting our wrong food then we had to obviously wait even longer for our food. When we finally got our correct order the plates were steaming hot as if they had been under the heat lamp for a long time. Went to Bob Evans for the second time in my small span of existence. As soon as I sat down I felt cozy. The waitress was a very kind woman, however after the drinks arrived we had to wait an hour to get our food. The food finally came, and although it was a little cold, absolutely delicious. I ordered pot roast, and the beef was a solid 9.5/10. Cooked to perfection, not chewy at all and the seasoning was amazing. Not too salty and not too plain. The presentation was very solid as well, to the regular eye, it may have looked plain. But in my eyes, the presentation was an 8/10. My mother may have been yelling at the waitress for the slow food, but I wasn't even listening as the pot roast and vegetable soup made me feel as if I was sent to a different dimension in the greatest way possible. It's a Bob Evans....it's off the interstate (I-70)....so yeah. What more can be said about it? Well we had great service from the moment we walked in and even though it took the food a little longer than I'd thought it would to arrive, it was still pretty tasty. It did what it was supposed to do--fill me up and prepare me for hours more of driving back to the Lou from Pittsburgh. It was kind of eerie in the sense that almost every girl working in here looked to be about 14 or so, haha. But they were all really sweet. Indiana hospitality maybe? We might stop here again on our next road trip because sometimes I crave breakfast food at 7:00 at night. So sue me! read more
