Food was delicious, warm, and fresh. Service was welcoming, prompt, and small town neighborhood comfortable. The cafe is bright and cheerful. The Toast is a local gem.

My new favorite breakfast place! Can't wait to try lunch here too! I had the biscuit French toast. Amazing! Never thought to make French toast from biscuits. Large portions, good coffee, diner experience mixed with glam, and great service. Well done! Side note: and there is good parking, outside seating when the weather is nice, great photo backgrounds.

What a GEM! This place has figured out a way to keep the Nostalgia of the original Toast Cafe with major upgrades!!! Open 7-3, 7 days a week, this is truly a gem in downtown Anderson. They are a scratch kitchen, making and baking everything fresh!! The food was fantastic. Home made cinnamon rolls, and biscuits and gravy. Recommend sharing as the biscuits are about as big as your face, hahah!!! So good. Friendly staff. Adorable decor. This place is a win win and I can declare it is one of my new favorite places:)

This is a MUST go to! I've been twice... once before the remodel and once after. Let me tell you, both were great but this place as it is today is phenomenal. The food is excellent, the service is top notch, and the atmosphere is outstanding! It's old school diner with new age feels. It is everything! You can sit at tables, booths or at the bar. Quaint, cute, lovely and amazing food.

I am a regular at the Toast and I love it! The entire staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is similar to that of the old Toast but so much better! The owner, Darla Sallee has hit on the perfect combination of food, choices,, ambience, and excellent staff.

Great breakfast but lazy service. Never asked if we wanted coffee refills or how our food was.

My experience may be because I was part of a large group of ladies, the service was slow but friendly. It also seemed a bit chaotic. Everyone complained of the parking as well but I did not have that issue as I always get to where I am going early and I found it easy to park in the extra lot behind the building. Apparently there is a place across the street from the building where you can also park. We were there at 1pm so lunch was on the agenda. I decided to forgo a regular meal and just get the cake flight, after all they are a bakery and I should try their best! I ordered a regular iced tea (no sugar) to go along with my cake. The cake flight I chose was the C.J.'s Vanilla Almond Buttercream (Wedding Cake), Dorothy Blevin's Cake, and the Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream. It was a good choice for lunch although if I go back I will just get the cake that I really liked out of the 3. Maybe next time also I will try the chicken salad croissant and the chicken velvet soup. I think my experience will be better next time outside of a big group. My favorite cake of the 3 was the Dorothy Blevin's Cake as it was unique with a denser texture than the others and it had pecans, pineapple, and a caramel topping. I thought the almond cake was a bit cloyingly sweet and the almond tasted pretty artificial, the chocolate was not chocolate enough for me if that makes sense. Maybe needed to be a little darker chocolate and richer but if you are looking for something lighter that may be your thing. Overall I will go back and try this bakery/cafe again and hopefully will have a better experience and I will order a full lunch next time.

I got iced tea and it wasn't the best or the worst, I'd probably get a Coke next time. I saw them bringing out a lot of wraps to the party they were serving and since it was like 107 degrees with the heat index Mom and I decided to get the fried chicken bacon ranch wrap with onion rings. They claimed on the menu the chicken was hand breaded but I'm not sure about that. The wrap was huge and also 95% lettuce which was obviously from a bag and had a funny bagged lettuce taste. There was the smallest sprinkling of cheese, bacon and tiny chicken tender pieces. They didn't put much ranch on the wrap so that made it dryer. Luckily we asked for extra when we ordered because we like to dip our onion rings in ranch too. We really liked the onion rings. I would have said something about the wraps but our server had that large party so we didn't see her again until the end of our meal. The view was beautiful and they do offer cocktails. They have a nice outdoor covered patio with ceiling fans but Mom said it was too hot even with the fans and since she's nearly 84 I wanted her to be comfortable. We will definitely go back again but I will try something different or leave off the lettuce if I do get a wrap.
