Portions were to small for high cost, pancakes were undercooked, server did not refill coffee. Overall unimpressed with experience.

I ordered a blue berry pancake breakfast with a side of sausage links. I received 3 small pancakes and two links which costed over $14.00. The portions were terribly small for the price. Oir service was not up to par. We never received another refill of water or coffee. I would not recommend this place. read more

We stopped for dinner at Perkins. We where greated right away and brought to a booth. They're keeping the restuarant pretty clean and sanitizing their menu's after each person uses one as well as tables. We ordered breakfast for dinner and the cornbeef and hash and the Hearty Man's combo. We also ordered two appetizers one of chicken strips and fried pickles. The food came out very fast and hot, the only thing that was missed was the fried pickles that arrived hot but after we started eating our main meals. The drinks where kept full and we where checked on a few times during our stay. read more

When driving around the country we often stop at Perkins for breakfast. This particular location is much like the rest. Friendly fast service and decent food at a good price. We at this restaurant stayed much longer than usual to talk to relatives, we were not rushed of felt like we were intruding and our coffee cups remained filled;very nice. read more

I've grown up eating in this restaurant. Food has always been good, especially for breakfast. After my last two visits to town and two visits to Perkins, I can say I will never go into this restaurant on my own cognizance again. Both times I came in I ordered the same thing; two eggs over easy, extra crispy hash browns, bacon, and dry wheat toast with a Mammoth muffin. My hash browns looked crispy but were sitting in a pool of grease. Each piece of shredded potato was soak through with grease. My over easy eggs were coated in grease and were also sitting in a pile of grease. I was completely disgusted. I didn't finish my breakfast either time. The reason I'm giving this review two stars instead of one is because the muffin was delicious and my servers were amazingly attentive. read more

When driving back to the Cities my wife and I wanted to find somewhere for breakfast. While we didn't want to do Perkins again as we'd had it just a couple of days ago, this was really the only spot off the freeway exit that was going to offer us a solid sit down breakfast. We were also a bit concerned about how the business would be as its location would seem to indicate that it caters to the travelling crowd. We were expecting in, out, and nary a smile. Boy were we wrong! First up - the staff could not have been friendlier. From the hostess who greeted us with the world's biggest smile, to the server who took fantastic care of us, to the manager who stopped by to ensure everything was just fine... Everyone was fantastic. Personable. Attentive. Just spectacular. I know several restaurants that could take a lesson from the fine people that work here. As for the food... On the whole I feel that a chain is a chain is a chain. That said, even though we'd just eaten at a Perkins a couple of days prior, both my wife and I felt the food here was far superior to the food we'd eaten at the other location. Everything just tasted better. Maybe it was the friendly service that just put us in a good mood, who knows, but we loved the food here. If you're heading out from Duluth back to the Cities and looking for a spot for breakfast, I'd suggest hopping on 35, heading south, and stopping here. You won't be disappointed. read more

Hubby and I both had omelets, mine was the smoked bacon and ham omelet with home fries and one of their banana nut mammoth muffins, hubby had the ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and toast. Perkins ad as a whole has always been a balanced and safe bet. However, this Perkins was really good for my first 3 years in Cloquet, then the food got very bland for a year, and then it was good again. Hoping this holds! read more
