After a long day at Epcot, we couldn't find many places open late. We found this place near our hotel. I know this place is known more for their breakfast. But we didn't have many choices. The place was almost empty but we didn't care since we were hungry. The menu had many selections. I wanted to taste their coconut cream pie. So, I decided to order a half sandwich and a slice of pie combination. I think the deal was great. The pie came a bit messed up but it was good. The sandwich was bit dry. My husband plate didn't look like the one in the photo. It was rather small. He didn't like the sauce over the meat so, he asked to change it. The server was nice enough to change the plate. Since it was not so busy, we only saw one server working. So, the service was a bit slow but she was pleasant. The place was big and clean. Anytime I visit Kissimmee, I make it a point to come by Perkins. I not only enjoy that they're open until midnight everyday, but I also enjoy the variety of comfort foods offered. With the exception of a few dining guests, the restaurant was practically empty, which didn't bother me; at times, I do enjoy a quiet atmosphere. I assumed the restaurant's emptiness was due to the rain as I was seated and handed a menu. When the server came to the table, I ordered a bowl of loaded potato soup and a hibachi grilled shrimp skillet. The soup arrived first, served hot with crackers. It was incredibly hearty, filled with savory bits of bacon and tender potato. When the server brought the skillet dish, I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish it because I was a bit full from the soup, but I managed. The dish was delicious. The shrimp was nicely cooked with tender veggies in a savory sauce atop a bed of pilaf rice. I wish I had room for dessert, but I was stuffed. My family and I used to go there for lunch all of the time! It's been about 20 years since I've last gone to a Perkins Restaurant. When I saw that there was one in Orlando Florida, my mom and I just had to go! After the RunDisney Race in early April, on a Saturday morning, my mom and I stopped into Perkins around 9:00 A.M. There wasn't too many people inside the restaurant. There was plenty of table and booth seating available. The team member brought us to our table and provided us with menus, including water. Perkins Restaurant & Bakery menu hasn't changed that much since 20 years ago! There was still breakfast offerings like pancakes, omelets, bacon, sausage, steaks, eggs benedict and so much more! We didn't wait long to place our order! I ordered the following Chicken Fried Steak, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns, Pancakes My mom ordered the Omelet with Tots and French Toast It was so much food! I should have split my meal. I could only eat the Chicken fried steak and some eggs. I didn't get a chance to eat much of the pancakes or the hash browns! The food was delicious! My mom enjoyed her omelet and French toast. We had such a fantastic time at this Perkins. The service was outstanding! The team member assisting our table was following up with us several times. The food is decent, but the service isn't great. Everything comes out separately and then you have to awkwardly wonder if you should start eating or let your food get cold while you wait for the rest of your party to get their meals. My son ate all of his aunt's eggs while he was waiting for his own food, so we placed an order for more eggs, but they took a long time to arrive. The host and server were extremely friendly and nice. They smiled the entire time we were there. Amine was so polite throughout the meal which we enjoyed. I had the Hearty Man's Breakfast with 3 pancakes, eggs over easy, 2 sausage links, 2 sausages, 2 bacon strips, and hash browns. Needless to say, it hit the spot and I was not left feeling hungry. The ambiance is of that typical diner. Nothing fancy, nothing too horrible just in the middle, it did smell of mildew. The waitress snatched the menu out of my hand, because I wanted just French toast and no side item, she said: "It comes with it so you might as well just get it" and then I decided to change the order. I ended up getting the strawberry crispers, they were super greasy, they tasted more like grease than anything, I didn't finish them and Susan H never checked on our table. Sad to say that if there's bad attitude and no accommodation for the customer, I don't see this Perkins location staying open. We got to the location and there was hardly anyone there anyway. Stipped in here to order some tea to go. Upon entering i was immediately greeted and assisted. I had places my order and waited. The staff were friendly and even though my second tea took longer to come out but multiple staff members made sure that i was being helped. Went into this Perkins location about 1:30 PM today. The restaurant was virtually empty. One family was being serve and that was it. We were trying to get seated and I call out to the older woman in the dining room. She did not want to even acknowledge our presents. We decided to walk out. I notice before coming into Perkins, only one vehicles in the parking area and two cars just left. I guess they were also frustrated that no staff was there to seat them either. Another reason is that they have a US Food 40+ foot truck delivering supplies at that time. The driver of the truck literally block entrance to the back parking lot. If I were the manager I would have proper staffing for the restaurant and have vendor stop blocking the driveway preventing customer access to the restaurant. If there was a way to give you knuckleheads negative five star I would. If I was senior management I would be looking at training the current staff and find new staff that will make this restaurant flourish. Take a look at the time that I am reporting as stated on my first sentence of this review and look back at your activity log you will see that this review is truthful. If you are corporate senior management, you need to speak with the manager in charge today and send him/her back to basic training. This is a major reason why so many restaurants fails every year. The staff was friendly and the food was hot and delicious. No one at my table had a complaint. We were all pretty hungry and all ordered breakfast. I had the pleasure of dining at Perkins tonight and I would highly recommend it. The service was great the food was delicious and it was reasonably priced. I had the skillet shrimp. It was really a yummy dish. My parents also got the skillet shrimp and they enjoyed it as well. My husband got the French toast breakfast combo and he really enjoyed it. We also each got a piece of pie to go. I plan on eating it later tonight, as my meal was filling. Like everyone has mentioned ; Slow services is the biggest problem here. I just wanted a fulling transitional American style breakfast before going to Universal Studio. It took them already 10 minutes before someone came to bring us to the table and whoever was in the front desk did not even bother saying anything to us. The menu is very colorful and full pictures which is very helpful. I really want to like this place but I just couldn't. Sadly the orders didn't come out until after 25-30 minutes. Finally when the food was here the waiter spills partial of my tater tots and that isn't a problem but I just though it was common sense that he should of gotten me more tater tots automatically without asking. His response was like " oh its angle of the plate and if I wanted more tater tots?" Overall that was minor issue, I was more annoyed with waiting such a long time for my food. I ordered the southern fried chicken biscuit breakfast and gravy was warm and it was very hard to eat. Tater tots is my favorite favorite and normally you can't get go wrong (theirs was like over cooked). Maybe I made a bad choice but if I am back to Orlando I would probably not come back. read more

Let me say first off, I've been going to Perkins for years. Unfortunately, this has slowly become the one location we can skip out on. We had two visits, with dead flies on the wall and flying near my food. We've asked to be moved and they gladly did that. Now, this visit was just appalling. It was 30 mins and we didn't get our food, and normally if there is a delay in the kitchen. Nothing and when we asked, she said she had no staff.. even the waitress looked so done and I feel so bad for her. We ended up just deciding to walk up and pay for the muffin, but they said we don't have to pay and the people next to us said they've been waiting for over an hour. And our waiter took it a step above that by being one of the most enjoyable and friendly waiters I've ever had. He had a light sense of humor, was warm, and made a few suggestions regarding the menu. Came with my wife many times during our Disney World trip because the restaurant is right next to our motel and it was without a doubt the most convenient spot. The experience was average until we had a rather nasty experience with one of the managers. Apparently one of the evenings my wife and I came in for takeout we were not charged by the restaurant, they always take care of the bill before the order was made and this particular night they were busy and forgot and my wife and I too did not realize we had not paid while we waited 35 minutes for our burger and salad. Upon returning the next day, my wife and I were greeted by one of the managers who then proceeded to explain to us about how we walked out on the bill, she covered the cost of course but how we didn't pay our bill. Keep in mind, we've been in the restaurant practically every night of our week long Disney trip so we definitely weren't up to anything evil I assure you. I asked multiple times for her to ring up the order again so we could rectify that mistake but I was told that was impossible.
