Everything is woodfired so it all tasted like it was grilled. I didn't mind the pork chop. The "jam" on it tasted just like bbq sauce. The airline chicken was seasoned with rosemary and was a little dry. The sides were absolutely horrible. Icecream scooped mashed potatoes....(that's all I have to say about that). The risotto was so plain and wasn't creamy at all. Needed wayyy more Parmesan, garlic or butter. Nothing was seasoned. The coleslaw had no taste. The zucchini squash mix had no seasoning! The glazed carrots just tasted like carrots. Just everything was a little disappointing and unimpressive. Service was flat and simple. Prices were overpriced.

What really pushed me over the edge was an experience I had a year ago. My friends and I had made our way down to Carbones to buy some wings from their promotional event. During our time there we had waited for 30 min...then another 30 min and then another 30 min! Eventually, we got up and approached our waiter to ask where our food was. We were told that it would only be a little bit more time. So we waited about 30 more minutes and finally our food came out. To our surprise the wings that we ordered were all undercooked. When mentioning this to our waiter, and thus the general manager, she seemed very, VERY annoyed with us. Keep in mind that we had been waiting for about two hours. The general manager immediately snapped back asking what was the problem with food, even though it was obvious that they forgot about us and rushed our order (thus the raw wings). rather than admitting that they were undercooked, she said she would make us an order again more to our "liking" if you can't believe it, this isn't even the worst part of our experience! . When it came time to pay the bill we were informed the credit card service was off-line and we had to make a cash payment. We didn't know what to do because we did not have cash. The general manager came and informed us that we had to go to an ATM and withdraw cash. However, she made it very, very clear that we were not allowed to all go together, implying that we were going to try to "steal the food" and by implying, I mean, she said that , "You better not all leave, one of you has to stay". What made me so upset about this interaction is that we were the ONLY people of color inside of the restaurant and she did not have the same tone of voice or language with any of the other customers AT ALL! I paid very close attention to how she spoke to the other customers. It was not our fault that their credit card service went down, but the fact that she demanded that one of us stay while someone had to go to the ATM was so disrespectful. Keep in mind this was the manager saying this! We had been to Carbones multiple times before this, and we always tipped! It seems there was only 1 reason for her to treat us like this.... We ended up sending one person out to the ATM to collect cash and STILL left a tip because it was the manager treating us poorly not our waiter. Would not recommend this place to anyone!

The scones were fresh and delicious, cookies and absolutely treat (chocolate with sea salt and dates with nuts), and bread was perfect for sandwiches. We also saw them selling at the Saturday market in Northfield park and there was same delicious selection of goods, and lots of locals buying freshly baked goodies. Highly recommend and would go out of my way to stop by here again!

Like the entire time I was placing my order - I felt uncomfortable and like I shouldn't be calling. When I got inside the restaurant to pick up my order, I'm 99% sure it was the same lady that took my phone order. She again seemed very annoyed and I felt very uncomfortable for being there. Like I had done something wrong. This time I also wasn't offered any jellies or hot sauce. I didn't feel like I should just ask because...I don't know, maybe those aren't supposed to be given out for free and it was just a nice thing the staff did for me earlier in the week? But I really missed having some strawberry jam with my toast. One thing I love about the toast when you get it to-go, they wrap it in a separately to keep it from getting soggy. I really liked this. Overall, I'm really sorry I made a mistake in my previous review about the credit card processing fee. I wish the service would've been better this time and from other reviews, it seems like it's definitely mixed. I still recommend giving Buckboard a shot, but don't go into a thinking it's going to be the best restaurant in the world. I really appreciate that ownership is looking at reviews!
