Not anything like the old perkins. Pancakes came with something akin to white grease Mascara-ding as "butter". One of my pet Peeves! We stopped at Perkins for supper while traveling through Regina. Now, I have been to Perkins before in many different cities, so I wasn't under some mistaken impression that it would be a five star restaurant but I was expecting it to be good, tasty food. I ordered the grilled shrimp skillet and it was terrible. The rice was hard, the vegetables lukewarm, the shrimp were horribly over done and it was topped with a salty sticky sauce. I ate it because I was hungry and let's face it, just sending it back would have solved none of this dish's many many problems, but do yourselves a favor and don't ever ever order the shrimp skillet. It's Thanksgiving and who wants to cook to get a little bit of turkey?! Not me! So we called around...Perkins was close and they had a turkey dinner special. Got there about 6pm..place was half full of people. Three of us....we all ordered the special turkey dinner. We waited an hour for our food. Dinner consisted of turkey, stuffing, gravy, roll, cranberry and your choice of 2 sides and pumpkin pie. I chose baked potato and green beans. Our disappointment...the turkey and stuffing. The turkey slices were dry on both sides, like it had been sitting under the heater for a long time and only about about a tablespoon of stuffing. We asked for extra gravy twice (when we could flag the waitress to come by) to soften the turkey. We didn't even think about asking them to change our plate....we had already waited an hour, so we were hungry. We weren't in the far corner, yet we felt like we were. She kept walking past us to get to other diners...not even asking us about our meal, if we needed anything else, a refill to our drink. Not sure where to start... Background: We were introduced to this location in early 2019 and it quickly became a staple. We went often. It was delicious, we always left full and usually had leftovers. There was always a pleasant older gentleman with a mustache helping run things and everything was great. Employees, food, service, atmosphere, etc. I hope the best for the older gentleman, but sometime around late 2021 he disappeared from the restaurant and it has gone downhill. Issues: Our first interaction after he left was with some teenager barely big enough to hold a tray of food trying to fat shame us out of our usual order. Then wouldn't give us pop at 10:30 AM because the machine wasn't on. Table behind us were very hefty older women who got pop without a problem by the same server 5 minutes later. Waitress also ignored our young toddler who was very happy to meet someone new. Let the manager know we were very displeased and they said they'd handle it and apologized saying they were new. Stayed away for 6 months or so after that miserable and embarrassing experience. First time back after that, we had a miserable time from the beginning. Seated right away but it took 20 minutes for a waitress to come. Our waitress this time clearly did not enjoy the job. She also ignored our child and was sighing and just being an unpleasant chirpy thing. After taking our drink order, we waited another 20 minutes and had to flag someone down after seeing others ordering when we hadn't even gotten drinks. After we eventually ordered, with zero warning or explanation, our food was taking 45 minutes. We finally asked what was going on after noticing other people were not eating and seeing that a table of 8 had just gotten up and left. They apologized and said they were short staffed and we will have our food right away. Another 20 minutes and nothing, people all around are complaining. Rather than complain, I simply asked again how long it will be as we had now been at the restaurant over 1.5 hours. After being told right away, I said you already said that though. Our waitress said "yeah, well, things happen, right?" Under her breath. I then laughed and said "they shouldn't!" and she just walked away. Finally got our food around the 2 hour mark. No apologies from our own waitress. At this point, at least 5 other tables had simply gotten up and left. Low and behold, food was all cold except the hasbrowns. Not warm, not lukewarm... Cold! Asked for a manager, told her what happened, they had the audacity to ask if I'd like to wait for another order. I laughed and said no I just don't want to pay for this. Manager was understanding and actually did comp the entire meal including the edible itemsa nd drinks. This started a chain reaction where people were miserable and very rude demanding refunds or comps. Finally wiatress came over and said "sorry for the wait, I can't believe you guys stayed, I wouldnt be here if I didn't have to be." Great attitude. After this miserable experience we stayed away almost a year. Trying again a couple times here and there when we are bored of Denny's, they have severely cut down portions, the quality is gone, increased prices, and it seems like nobody from that same great staff pre-covid remains... Will likely continue trying since it is so close to us and we are stubborn, but suggest that others considering this place... stay away! It is not the same place it was 5 years ago. read more

The meals were large portions, quite filling and tasty. Our server was Marissa. She is the best server we have had in years. Even though she was busy, anytime we asked for something she was quick to bring it. Perkins is fortunate to have such a conscientious employee. read more

A minus one star... Two strikes and in my game your out. Ordered their "NEW" chicken pot pie. Really looking forward to it. Looked real good when it came. Stuck my fork in and guess what still frozen in the middle. Sent it back and they had no more. I overheard the two waitresses talking and one saying to the other, another frozen pot pie.. ordered a roast beef sandwich and it was so dry I thought I was in the desert. Suggested to the waitress that she might want to tell the manager they need a meat temp gauge for the pot pies. Not sorry Perkins, DONE WITH YOU... They serve breakfast all day! The waitress was friendly. I ordered the eggs benny. It could have used a bit more hollandaise sauce. Aside from that it was good. The fruit it came with seemed fresh. Although I did not have any issues with my food, I noticed 2 different tables beside me sent back their food because it wasn't cooked properly. I also noticed that a few menu items were no longer available (despite it was only 6pm) The chicken pot pie was unavailable, as well I heard the waitress say that they were out of baked potatoes, and that one of the turkey dishes was unavailable because they ran out of sauce. So I think what needs to be improved is the work that goes on in the Kitechen read more

The food was delicious and our server was nice but the customer service around there is awful lol. I'm a server too so I know what it's like but the host came and sat us down and she says in the meanest tone ever "your server will be with you". Like I can't describe it but I literally thought she was being so rude to us because we're an interracial couple. Then she seats a guy next to us and treated him the same way. Pink strands in her hair with glasses she greeted me at the door, sat me down and I told her I was in a hurry and wondered if I could order. She was really rude with pleasure in her voice she said I am not your server. Then turned around and left?? I am 40 years old when a younger person is rude or lacks customer service skills I can tell. There is a lack of customer service in the industry. Now you could come back with a rebuttal and state a business policy or say something else but the truth a great employee or company empowers their employees or self to take such a simple request into their own hands and provide customer service. She revelled in the fact that she could not serve me while she was serving other customers 10 feet away??? My real server had great skills but the earlier encounter already wrecked the atmosphere. This was absolutely horrid food. All cold, hash browns not really cooked, coagulated yellow substance for hollandaise, clearly a previously frozen biscuit. Management offered 10% off which is about the amount we actually ate. Have to say the young lady serving was great though. read more

Stopped here for dinner with a friend for supper since we were staying at the nearby Country Inn & Suites. It was next door and within walking distance across to next door. We ordered the country skillet with scrambled eggs with spinach & mushrooms. It was not great - the potatoe chunks were undercooked and hard. The entree was not fresh nor hot ... kinda warm . The waitress was very good and was friendly . They ended up charging us half the cost for these 2 meals which we appreciated but I wish they were like what the menu picture portrayed... Wow... How this place has changed. Tried to eat here two years ago and ended up walking out when they brought the dinner, it looked like they dropped it on the floor and then scrapped it up and threw it back on the plate. Out of desperation and freezing weather decided to attempt to try and eat here again. WOW the food and presentation was outstanding. I almost went outside to see if this was the same place. Christmas Eve, I feel sorry for those having to work but am also grateful. Seating was fine, lots of options, clean as you walk in! Waiter was sicker than a dog and coughing all over than brought us drinks with his hand overtop the rim, yuk! Went to manager and requested new server, done nice pleasant young lady! Orders turkey dinner, (Christmas right so had to have turkey..lol) way to salty, could hardly eat it! They should have sent the sick waiter home, but no he continued to serve other people, while coughing all over! Would not order the turkey dinner again either! Very slow service, long waits for drinks. Food is always fairly slow to come but pretty good (sometimes cold) and great for kids. Last time food was over 30 minutes with one refill for drinks. (Restaurant had 5 tables with other patrons) Received one wrong meal out of 5 and due to being rushed and having to wait over 30 minutes I declined a new plate. Asked if I could have the muffin that came with it so I would at least have something to eat. I was told rudely, "I will charge you for it". I declined and watched my family all eat. Server then came after approximately another 15-20 minutes and gushed about how she took off the wrong meal off the bill. Umm, yeah I didn't eat any of it so that's what I expected. I certainly didn't expect to sit and watch everyone else eat while I had nothing. Whatever, my choice right? You'd think they would say, well here since we screwed up have a roll or something? When we left I asked the cashier (host) if the manager was aware of the situation, he stated "No, the server didn't want to tell him". He said he would. I paid and left. Always slow service, food consistent although ALWAYS ask for hot food or guarantee one or more plates will be cold. We went to Movado Sports bar (attached to Perkins) and chose a booth. On sitting in the booth, the entire seat fell off it's mount and dropped me into an awkward spot wedged between the table and the floor. Managed to extract myself from the situation and we chose a different booth (after checking it first). Staff avised me they have been trying to get management to get these booths repaired for years! Evidently Movados Sports Bar and Perkins are now owned by Holiday Inns. Liz ordered liver and onions and I the chicken spinach salad and they were delicious! Service by Kaylyn was wonderful and we enjoyed the meals and the evening. The TV sets were extremely small for a sports bar - could not even read what teams were playing! All considered it was a place we could recommend - but check the booth seats first and bring binoculars! read more
