My sister took me here because she lives in the area and has gotten take out food previously. We walked into a deli/restaurant that was very quaintly decorated with the Polish flag, wooden carvings, decor and family photos that could have been from our own family. The hostess seated us near the fireplace on a very cold day and we enjoyed the warmth. The menu is very vast, from appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and full dinners. The variety of pierogi is amazing! I chose the 4+4+4 platter that lets you choose a few of three different kinds of pierogi. I chose the potato and cheese, cabbage and the mushroom and cabbage ones. We were shown a dish going to a table next to us - a special - "Polish lasagna" - that we ordered. The soup of the day was pickle soup - and we each tried a bowl. It was a hearty broth with small pieces of pork, carrots and potatoes flavored with some dill, very tasty. We had enough to take home for the next two days for lunch or dinner. Even though we were advised that they only had one person cooking in the kitchen, our meals were served quickly. It was a very enjoyable experience that brought back memories of our Polish family Sunday gatherings from our youth. read more

Been calling there a few times. No one answered the phone. today Wednesday dec 3rd it says it's supposed to be open from 130 to 6 o'clock. So I took a chance stop at their restaurant and there was a closed sign. it is now 2 o'clock in the afternoon very unreliable. I was going to place a catering order but with Unreliable hours like that, it's simply not worth the risk. read more

Found this place on a tip from a local cashier and wasn't disappointed. The man running the place was so friendly to me and my son. The inside is cute with a small cozy wooden seating area (maybe 12 table setups?) to the right, a small Polish market selling candies, treats and beverages all from Poland ahead of you, and a deli area. They have a little waiting area that has some Polish swag on the walls. Always nice to show pride in your homeland! We were just in the mood for a lunch to go so we took the recommendation of potato and cheese perogies for my son and a kielbasa hero for myself. The food took a little while to wait for and that's when I spied their pastry's that come in on Saturdays (along with polish rye bread). I snagged a couple raspberry Paczki which are glazed doughnuts with different fillings. My son swallowed up the perogies and said they were some of the best he's ever had. My kielbasa hero was on a fresh long roll and filled with a super long kielbasa, spicy mustard and sauerkraut. I'm not usually a kraut fan, but the flavors were so good together. It was a very filling sandwich. The pacski was out of this world, so fresh, fluffy, sweet and eaten very quickly. I will definitely repeat when in the area and hopefully one day will have a nice sit down feast with my family. This self described Italian gentleman from Brooklyn does not seem to know much about running a Polish restaurant. When my sister complained about the food, he said he would take it off of the bill. He then told me he would not because she spoke too loudly even though we were the only people in the place. He then insulted her appearance, and argued with me at the register. I tried to stay calm when he raised his voice, but the argument was nonstop. The customer is never right in this establishment apparently, which might be why it was empty at 6 o'clock on a Friday night. As we drove away he was giving us the finger through the window and then came out of the restaurant one last time to insult my sister again. I'm sharing this in the hopes that he reads it and understands that "the customer is always right", and arguing with them and cursing them out is not a good business strategy. Another month, another visit to try the beef bracsiole special. Entree included two rolled cubed beef patties along with a dozen homemade, soft, pillowy dumplings and cold slaw salad. The beef wasn't the tenderest meat we've eaten here and partially disappointed in that choice. But the real disappointment was when the waitress shared that in the future, the restaurant won't be offering lemons with our water because people have been mixing in sugar to make lemonade!! Great service. Love the decoration inside, owners built the tables and chairs them selves. They have a nice Polish deli when you walk in or a small dining area. We have dimes on several times, and each time the owner has stopped at our table to chat with us , which is a great touch. There homemade pierogis are full of flavor. I have been ordering the sautéed cabbage and noodles with a piece or kielbasa, so yummy. So much to take home left overs. My husband ordered there special one night called the kielbasa Ruben. Honestly, this is one of the best restaurants in Northeast Pennsylvania. The food is always outstanding. Their meat pierogies are on par with the best you'll find in Krakau in the old town. Fun to experience something we'd never had before. My husband and I split the Polish Country Platter, got a side of sauerkraut and a cup of the Pickle Soup to share. The cucumber salad, sauerkraut & kielbasa were outstanding! I really enjoyed the perogi on my platter, but wish I could've chosen a different flavor. The cabbage roll was okay, but bland....but I'm still glad we tried it. We prefer to drink water with our meals and were disappointed that the only water available was bottled...no complimentary tap water. Our travelling companions are vegans, so they were very disappointed with the choices. Several items would have worked, but all of the "platters" had some meat items included and the staff was unwilling to make substitutions that would create a vegan platter. read more

Happened upon this adorable little restaurant on our way to Stroudsburg. We didn't get to have a chance to eat in their sit-down restaurant - we just ordered take out. We ordered the handmade cheese and potato perogies, the spinach and feta perogies and and a salad - all so delicious! The dough was tender and thin, and the fillings were clearly distinct - no frozen, vague fillings here. They also have a small bakery and a tidy little dry goods section of polish treats - candy, pickles, canned meat, snacks and drinks.
