This was my Friday lunch review :…read more WOW - completely renovated!!! I had no idea. Full sit down table service, no more confusing walk up counter, but then 1/2 service. FULL SERVICE . A great friend suggested the Miami for lunch. I'd been several times many years ago. And while I liked it, it was a tad confusing. NOW, with the completely new design, it's much larger, far more wide open and airy with sit down full table service. Super sweet server ( though there's a language barrier, but google translate is magic, ha!) Tons of choices. HUGE portions! So much food that I was full all day!! THE PRICES!! I'd think they were 1/2!! SOOOO AFFORDABLE!! In these days of inflation, I do not know how they do it at SUCH low prices. DEFINITELY GOING BACK!! I had the luck that my lunch mate knows the owner who came over. Meeting this charming gentleman added so much to the dining experience that I not only thoroughly enjoyed the food experience, I now feel connected on a personal level that adds such an awesome layer to a meal. It's so rare to still have on site owners who not only truly care about their business, they love what they do and that comes through in their warm welcoming charm, that simply does not exist in most casual sit down restaurants. Great coffee ! AND love how they serve the rice in the shape of the DR! A shape that is actually accurate with so many tiny details. 2 days later, Sunday From Friday lunch, to Sunday 2 days later : from a dozen superlatives , to disappointment. I've been waiting 50 minutes for a shrimp dinner. It took 15 minutes to get the 1st glass of water.... on top of the 50 minutes I've been sitting here, I have to add that what was nice and quiet on Friday at lunch is now night club decibel LOUD music. The server could not even hear me. I'll still definitely come back, but only for a quiet weekday lunch, not when it's busy on a weekend , nightclub loud and glacially slow.

The food was really good and we'd definitely come back for that. The atmosphere was nice -…read morecolorful room and pleasant music that was at a nice moderate volume. However, in a nearly empty restaurant the service was SUPER SLOW, to the point of being dissapointing. There was literally one other patron in the restaurant at the time. This gives me pause about coming back, especially in light of other comments about the service. Would not want to eat here when it's more than a little busy.

I've been eyeing this place on my delivery app for a while and I finally ordered last night. The…read moremenu has so many tasty sounding dishes that it was hard to decide what to order, but I eventually decided on the ham and cheese sandwich, fried chicken and sweet plantains, beef/onions and rice with pigeon peas, and alcapurria. They offer different sizes for the meals so I chose small portions of each to try a few different options, but each helping was still quite large! The total for all of this food ended up being around $25 also so it was an amazing deal. The food itself was AMAZING: Ham and cheese sandwich - with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo, this sounds basic but it was SO GOOD. The bread was pressed down and nice and toasty, and the proportions of the ingredients were just spot on. A really great and affordable hot sandwich! Fried chicken and sweet plantains - the chicken was a little older since I ordered at the end of the day, but there was still enough moisture in it that it wasn't dry. The batter was also really well seasoned with different herbs and spices - it had a really nice rounded flavor rather than just being salty. The plantains were also nice and caramelized - a perfect sweet bite! Beef/onions and rice with pigeon peas - The beef was a little bit dry but still full of flavor and felt like it had been cooking in the sauce for a while so it was pretty tender. The rice and pigeon peas were really really good though - I will likely choose this as my side moving forward. Not sure how to describe it but it was really flavored with spices but not overly powerful in any direction. Really delicious rice. Alcapurria - My favorite! I had these in Puerto Rico and this version was nicely crisped with a ton of flavored minced meat in the center. The texture was spot on and just so savory and memorable. I want to go back to try the chicharrons, the tres leches cake, the chicken stew, the empanadas, and so many more things on this menu. It's really a gold mine for dishes and so so so delicious!

Not an authentic vibe more like a trendy vibe . Full bar inside as well . Music is loud . The food is good . The empanadas are made fresh as you order . That's the cool aspect about this place . Doesn't have that rough Spanish restaurant vibe you sometimes get in Chelsea or East Boston. Much more upscale. People like that. The servers were very nice. Helpful, attentive, really great. Now, the runner who brought the food didn't seem to be in the best mood. That's alright. It happens. Prices were decent. The menu offers a lot, from full Colombian appetizers to full meals. Even has a kids section. My son ordered chicken wings and French fries. The chicken wings were delicious, juicy, perfectly done. For appetizers we had fried cheese with pineapple sauce and fried plantain with shrimp in a criollo sauce. Delicious, really fantastic. My wife ordered the sancocho de res, and she totally enjoyed it. I ordered a mixed plate with white rice, beans, tostones, onions, peppers, beef, and shrimp. Absolutely incredible. The tres leches was also terrific. Very well done. But then a group of six rowdy individuals came in. Completely destroyed the nice, chill mood. Total disaster. They were animals, folks. Total animals. Loud, obnoxious, so bad that a table of people actually decided to move completely outside just to get away from them. That's how disruptive they were. At that point, an employee should have stepped in and said, "We're glad you're enjoying yourselves, but there are others here trying to enjoy their meals too." It was out of control. Overall, a strong 4.6 stars.

I got the pernil cachapas, and my friends got a shrimp canoas and a vegetarian arepa. Everyone was very happy with their food! I did wish there were more veggie sides or vegetables in my cachapas - it was pretty much all meat and carbs but the taste was perfecto. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained - there was one flickering light that gave me a mild headache, thus the four out of five. Service was outstanding!
