My reason for the new roof was due to my aging roof and better insurance coverage. I was interested in a fortified roof and he walked me thru everything. He helped with the roof choice and I just love the results! The roof is now on house on and the whole process could have not been any better from start to finish! His entire operation is a well run machine and the final result is above and beyond anything I could have expected. As Ryan says his price is not the highest or the cheapest but I always would go with a local operation that understands the conditions of Louisiana. I received the estimate picked out shingles and siding we set a date they were here that morning. They were here everyday after that including the weekend. Ryan was also here everyday as well. Constantly gave updates and how things were going. We are not finished yet but I highly recommend Cypress Gulf Coast to anybody and everybody looking for repairs or remodeling. Our roof was damaged during hurricane Zeta, causing active leaks. It was a very old roof, so…read moreinsurance didn't cover anything. My wife and I used our personal savings to repair/replace our roof. Pelican replied quickly, and gave an estimate based on Google images of our roof. I requested someone come inspect in person before hiring them. Robbie came and crawled into our attic and saw how old/damaged our decking was and updated the estimate for the needed decking repair. Fast forward to when the crew came out - they weren't aware of the scope of the job. They tore off the old shingles, and started putting the new shingles on the same day. I asked Perry (the site manager) to make sure they were inspecting and repairing the decking to fix the sagging/wavy roofline. He assured me they were. Our shingles look great - but they did not repair the decking as agreed in our contract. There are rotten boards, big holes where the nails blew out old boards, and our roof looks even more wavy and sagging than before. Ryan and Philip have been out twice to inspect, and keep promising to "make it right" but have not done so. They keep telling me they guarantee their work for 5 years, but that won't fix a bad decking job. If we ever sell the house, we'll need to take $$ off the price because of the wavy roof - and that was why we spent our own savings to fix it, only to have them not do a good job. My wife and I had a baby recently, so we were ok with them not fixing it right away - but they have not communicated their timeline, and continue to not follow through on their promises - even after we've been incredible patient and accommodating. We are filing a complaint with BBB, and hope Pelican will actually make this right.

Our fascia was completely torn away from our house and then they bent the fascia back in place and nailed it back, the crew put ruts in our neighbors yard and our yard which we had to fix after Phillip would not keep his word on fixing them and it took them over 6 weeks to fix the damage that THEY did to our house. Phillip and Ryan would both say they would have someone come by and take care of the damage and no one would show up. Perry, the so called on-site manager, was a complete disaster and should of never been in charge of this or any project from what we could see. Perry and the crew did more visible damage to our house than Hurricane Zeta did! They tried cutting corners, leaving felt and old drip edge on our boat lift too, but luckily I saw them and had the crew replace them. Phillip at first tried saying he did not think his crew did the damage to our fascia, but then finally admitted it. It was obvious anyways. We called a siding company to replace the remaining fascia they damaged. Not exactly the quality of work Pelican Roofing said would take place at all. I have done plenty of projects with contractors over the years and this by far is the absolute worst. I would not recommend the crew that did our house to put a roof on a dog house! Terrible service, Phillip and Ryan are not trustworthy or honest people. Stay away from this company.
