We recently got a flat tire, just north of the Kingston exit, on the Thruway (2 hours from home, on the way to the Adirondacks). We called AAA, who call the thruway authority, who called Perry's (long story short no one could change the tire due to the lug nuts). The driver tried his hardest to help, loaded us up (the dogs in the jeep) and he took us to a local dog friendly hotel. He was extremely understanding and VERY helpful. The next morning we called the garage, they fixed the problem, and we were on our way north again. very bad customer service the guy in the office was very rude and condescending I came in to get a car inspection and he told me I can't get an inspection because I have tinted window. I told him I have a tint exemption from nys and the sticker is displayed in the window like it has always been he still trying to tell me no. I've been getting this suv inspected since I brought this car. Acura, Honda, and another shop have all done my inspection with the tint exemption from ny with no issues or problem. I do not recommend this shop at all because the guy is rude nasty and disrespectfu. when the father use to run this shop it was much better but now it has went to hell. This is not a business, it is a joke being run by people in serious need of anger management courses. We called on Saturday to have the car towed to the repair shop and were told they had no drivers. When we called on Monday to have the car towed to the repair shop we were informed there were storage fees. After multiple attempts to reach someone by phone and being dismissed, I am forced to send this message in hopes it reaches the appropriate person. On 2/24/26 around 4:15pm, I was driving north on Broadway in an agency vehicle for a Therapeutic Foster Care program. I was transporting a biological mother (front passenger), a completely blind and incapacitated biological father (rear), and a 10-year-old youth in DSS custody (rear). Due to heavy traffic, I attempted to briefly pull off near Van Deusen & Broadway to safely drop off the blind adult and mother. I accidentally entered your parking lot and planned a 30-second stop so the blind passenger could exit safely. Instead, I was met head-on by a Perry's tow truck entering from Broadway. There was less than a foot between our vehicles. When I signaled apologetically, the driver screamed, "MOVE, STUPID BITCH!" and "ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED?!" He repeatedly laid on his horn for nearly a full minute and aggressively motioned for me to reverse out into busy Broadway with no traffic control. Two employees approached my passenger side while the yelling and horn continued. My vehicle clearly displays a Therapeutic Foster Care decal. I attempted to calmly explain the situation while also soothing a frightened child and disabled client. I was dismissed and told the driver was "just trying to park," and that I "can't make a U-turn on private property." There was no visible signage indicating restricted access. Eventually, the tow truck backed slightly into Broadway, leaving me inches to squeeze out. As I was exiting, he again moved toward my vehicle and honked aggressively. The verbal abuse, hostility, and intimidation displayed toward a woman transporting a blind adult and a 10-year-old child were unacceptable. Regardless of why I entered the lot, no one deserves to be screamed at, insulted, and harassed in that manner -- especially in front of vulnerable individuals. If this is how your employees are permitted to treat members of the public, it reflects extremely poorly on your establishment. After this experience, I would never consider using your services and cannot in good conscience recommend them. This behavior was unprofessional, aggressive, and deeply disturbing. I called to make a complaint about being heavily tailgated by a driver in upper NY and when I called, it was immediate attitude! Told them I had a complaint about a driver and being tailgated, got told to call back later and hung up on. I'm married to a tow truck driver. I told the guy to back up several times and he just stared at me. I'm glad that this is the type of business you run. Can't take complaints about drivers while running someone else's company? The size of your dick really shows when you clearly don't gaf about your drivers or the safety of others on the road. But yall want us to respect you? Get i together. Do better. Be better. Today 02/18/25, I called have to my car towed to the mechanic shop. I was on the corner of Clinton Av. And Henry St. Kingsto. The phone number was; (845) 338-5111 and he recommended it to me was "car care Shark transmission owner" The person who answered was the owner, when he heard my accent spoke to me in a rude and dirty way and hung up the phone refusing to give me his services. My vehicle could not let it run to warm up. Due his attitude he could even be sued for refusing to give his services. Specially in winter when the people are exposed to low temperature. read more

Had a driver that was in an accident and I called for a tow and my guy got there very quickly. When he arrived, was told by law enforcement that Perry's towing had to tow it as this is a contracted (paid for highway section). I wanted the vehicle towed to a shop for repair and was told that they would not do that, it had to go to their yard overnight (with storage fees of course) and then we would have to tow it in the morning for yet another fee. I will call a different tow company tomorrow. The guy was very rude and a total jerk. read more

These guys did an impeccable job rescuing us off of I87 when we broke down late on Sunday night. Jim was able to quickly tow us back to Kingston to a local hotel to spend the night. our car was dropped off at their garage, and they were able to quickly fix the problem, getting us back on the road by 11 the next morning. And to top it off - they were so efficient that our 6 month old baby slept through the entire tow all the way to the hotel! Can't ask for much more than that. read more

My mother had her front calipers, rotors and pads done in July 2021 along with an oil change and an inspection and spent almost $1000. Pete last week refused to inspect my mother's car because "it's past registration and his computer doesn't allow him to bypass that" , meanwhile the DMV advises you can absolutely inspect unregistered vehicles . We advised him of that and he didn't care and refused to work on her car. We then brought her car to Brenns Automotive in Kingston (who I highly recommend) and he advised there's absolutely no way the front rotors were changed in the last couple years and that they are the original rotors, and we would need to fix that before getting it inspected . We called Pete to advise him of this . He told my mother he doesn't have any records so if she didn't have her receipt there's nothing he could do , very defensive and rude . We then got the receipt from the bank and advised him the exact amount and day and time we were there. He then advised it's been two years and they'd obviously be bad. I told him what Brenn had said , which is that they were not replaced two years ago, I asked him if he'd like to see the rotors to confirm this himself. He then advised me even though he's been a mechanic his entire life, he wouldn't be able to tell how old they were and called Brenn a liar. I asked him if he was going to make this right or if we needed to pursue another avenue. He advised me "if we said we did it , we did, and I don't need to see the rotor to confirm that we did." I HIGHLY do not recommend this crook. My mother has been taking care of him for 15 years as a waitress a various restaurants and has always given him free stuff and great service. I can almost guarantee he won't be welcome , and if he is, he won't be getting good service. Myself and my mother and her boss as well as Brenn know a lot of people that we will be sharing this information with. Pete, I gave you an opportunity to do this right. You declined. You and your shop will be reported to the proper authorities and the DMV. An official complaint will be made. You can't lie and say you fixed brakes when you didn't. YOU COULD KILL SOMEONE. My wife brings the car in less than a year ago for diagnosis of a leak of some sort. These hacks change the alternator with a refurbished lemon from Autozone. As expected, the alternator is dead before their one-year warranty, they don't provide her with an itemized receipt (just a small credit card print out), they don't have any record in this era of technology (not a surprise) of the work and never remedied the original issue. Good, honest guys. My car overheated on the NYS Thruway halfway between Kingston and New Paltz, which - if you don't know - is in the middle of freaking NOWHERE. 17 miles between exits. On a Sunday night. I called AAA and they sent Perry's, but because traffic was so bad, the driver couldn't get us to New Paltz and had to take me back to their garage in Kingston instead. A lot of mechanics see a BMW pull in and all they see are dollar signs. Add to that the fact that I was almost an hour from home, so I knew I couldn't get someone tow us to my usual mechanic, and I knew I would just have to pay them whatever they asked. I was screwed. I left my car there overnight, dreading the verdict. New water pump? New radiator? Head gasket, god forbid? The next morning they called me up and told me it was fixed. $107! Just drilled out a broken bleeder screw, put a new one in, and sent me on my way. They really could have burned me but they didn't. Incredible! I hope I never have to call them again, but they did a great job when I needed them. read more

On Sunday I broke down on NYS Thruway near Kingston and AAA thru the Thruway Authority sent Perry's Towing and Recovery. They sent me the nicest driver who dropped me off at Broadway Lights Diner. They repaired my car the next day, replacing the alternator and were extremely reasonable in their pricing for both the towing and repair. It's nice to know that there are honest reliable businesses in this State and Country. read more

Just got myself stuck on a berm trying to make a right in someone's driveway that only really accommodates the left hand turn. I was trying to make a wide angle right but before I knew it, my little Hyundai was stuck on this high berm, my right tire was off the ground and I couldn't go forward or back. Perry's only made me wait about 15 minutes, and when the driver got there he was walking around my vehicle with great concentration not listening to me prattling on. (I wouldn't listen to me either). I was transferred to the NYS Highway Authority, and they dispatched Perry's Towing to my location. Artie and his wife came to the rescue. I was 2 hours from home, and being late in the afternoon, every garage and car rental place had already closed. We made the decision to have my car towed to a dealership in Kingston, and to then spend the night in a hotel. Artie and his wife gave us a ton of information about Kingston and the surrounding area, and they also recommended a hotel. Artie went into the hotel lobby with us to make sure they had availability and to also get us a discount. Like I said, I would give them 10 stars if I could! read more

The driver had no empathy, no kindness, and not one iota of helpfulness, unlike every other tow-person I've met in the past 40 years. I don't believe this is how all the staff at Perry's are, but this was an uncaring man. He was rude and as unhelpful as possible. He told me it was not his job to help me, just to tow the car. He complained he doesn't get paid by the hour. The receipt says he picked me up me at 1:15 and dropped me off at 1:32 for a total 17 minutes at $150. Unfortunately, this is the only place that can tow you off the Thruway. If you are forced to use them, you have my sympathies and I hope you get a kind driver. read more
