Oh my GAWDDDDDD!!!! This might be my "died and gone to heaven" place. Dangerous. I'm going to get fat and go broke spending all of my time and money licking the plates. :) Haven't tried anything that wasn't amazing and hopeful to try it all over time. Classics like Tikki Masala and Lamb Sagwala... tender and perfectly spiced and SO HEAVENLY CREAMY. The curries are great too. My husband is a big curry guy and he was very smiley with the Chicken Kadhai. Be ready to drink more water than you usually do in a week! I rarely overeat but I just cannot stop when I am at Persis. GLUTEN FREE!! Tons upon tons of options here! They have the menu wonderfully labeled so you know what is gluten free. That was fantastic and made me even more excited to go back often. I did not have any upset tummy after eating at Persis which shows the quality of their preparation and spicing! Atmosphere is casual but nice. Beautiful cocktail bar. Business attire to athleisure would feel very comfortable at Persis. Waitstaff is kind, helpful and patient as making a choice (I can't have it all?!) is nearly impossible. One day we were doing a curbside pickup nearby, and the smell of Indian food drifted towards where were waiting. A couple weeks later we knew what to order for our anniversary dinner. We ordered through Door Dash since we had a newborn less than a week old and we needed to stay home. I got the garlic naan, samosas, and the chicken kadhai. This is some of the best Indian food I've had. Can't believe we waited so long to try it. Samosas were crisp but tender inside and very flavorful. The chicken kadhai was so tender and just enough spice. The portions were big and could easily be split. The rice was a perfect texture. And the naan was amazing. It was the perfect vehicle to stop up some of my sauce. Next time we crave Indian, we know where to go. read more

Great flavors but they give so little protein with the meals - all sauce on a few small pieces of chicken. I've eaten here enough to know that they consistently provide very little protein. Deserves 6 stars! You just cannot go wrong with this place! This is an outstanding Indian restaurant. Been here 3-4 times (always had to wait, which is a good sign) with my wife now and everytime it just gets better and better each visit. The food is fresh and flavorful. We love the garlic naan and have ordered different curries each time and never disappointed. We have also had a different server each time and every server has been excellent. Definitely mine and my family's favorite Indian restaurant in Charlotte and greater Charlotte area. The food tastes fantastic, and is fresh. Ask for Malai Kofta, Paneer Bhurji, Shaam Savera and Lasooni Paneer. They even have kid size portions. So your kids can have their own meal. This was our second time going to Persis and we will make a 20-mile trek again! The service is excellent. The owners give a lot of respect to the customers and give good suggestions. Recently moved close to SC from Charlotte and was worried I'd be disappointed since we had a favorite Indian restaurant on the other side of town. Persis did not disappoint! In fact everything we had was delicious and the team provided excellent service. We started off with the samosa appetizer. There were three that were loaded with flavor and content. For the entrees I had the tikki masala. love how you can order shrimp with this dish since I eat a lot of chicken throughout the week. The portion is huge! I also loved how they incorporated onions, peppers and spices into this dish. My husband ordered the lamb vindaloo. This was is packed with flavor and heat! So my job took me to South Carolina this time, and as always I had to find a Indian restaurant. I came across this particular one due to yelps "hot and new" badge. I read some of the reviews and was a bit skeptical, but decided to go anyway. Soon as I walked in I was greeted by a server, and sat at the bar. Bartender took care of me as soon as my butt touched the seat. Corona was nice and cold, and limes were cut thick enough to get some juice out of them. I was presented with a small appetizer to enjoy while I waited for my meal. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, with garlic naan. Food arrived fairly quickly and I got down to it and enjoyed it. Overall, the food is good, the vibe is dope and service was excellent in my opinion. The only downsides were: *spicy food level felt like mild. Needs to be hotter. *did not like that the chicken tikka masala was cooked with green bell peppers, never had it. Prefer that they keep it original. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the spicy level and the bell peppers. Still, if you like Indian, I'd recommend checking it out. read more

We had a great time! I agree with other reviewers that the tiki masala is especially good here - it was much tastier than the creamy orange sauce I usually see. I had actually given up on tiki masala the last time I had it at another restaurant, and was a little disappointed when my daughter ordered it here, but it turned out to be my favorite dish on the table! We also had the lamb vindaloo which was just the right amount of spicy and the meat was so tender! Our last dish was the boneless chicken briyani. It was put together like an actual briyani with meat and sauce on the bottom, then the rice, then some crispy toppings. Flavors were awesome! Butter and garlic naans rounded out the meal. It had been a while since we visited Persis and was pleased to see they added several vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and entrees. I had the whole tandoori pompano. At first I was a little intimidated with the bones, but it was cooked wonderfully and was very easy to enjoy. The service but better than our last visit and he was very helpful and attentive. Well, after seeing this place, it took me sometime to get my nerve up to go try it. I had been to Baroda India before and the food there spoiled me. I had tried other Indian restaurants and they just broke my heart. I can't say that for Persis. I was torn between the goat curry and the lamb sagwala. I finally choose the lamb and I am so glad I did! This reminded me of sitting down in India and eating. What made it even better is that I liked at the table across from me and seen a younger India guy eating with his fingers and it just made it that much better. Every meal I ate in India was with my fingers and that Took me right back to that time. Thanks Persis for bringing India back to me since I haven't got back over there. This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the Carolinas. I was heartbroken when they took my favorite fish appetizer off the menu, but their food is consistently delicious! I love the upscale yet casual atmosphere and the wait staff is always friendly and attentive. When I explain to the waitress that I drove over an hour to eat there she went to the kitchen to ask the chef if he could possibly still make the fish appetizer that has been removed from the menu. Disappointing continuously !! Dishonest management and eat at your own health risks. It has been a while I reviewed a restaurant.... I especially wanted to take time and write this one for awareness. Last 3 times in past 2 months I have been to this restaurant. My experience is [Given the fact they charge comparably high $16 +] I was serve you stale food , basically left overs from the previous day or week as it seems. I am originally from India , and it is so easy to figure out if the food is fresh or not because in India 99.9% of the time food is eaten fresh at most within hours of preparing it. I ordered "Goat Biryani" , a go to dish in the label place like Persis. Needless to say this was the last time they got my money... That seems to be totally taken off the charts as far as Persis is concerned. This is disturbing trend with lately the India restaurants that I have noticed the enthusiasm and the passion disappears almost immediately the place receives recognition. Sad but I have eaten in this place before it was so so, the food wasn't exceptional , it was at the least prepared fresh. Today as the previous 2 times in the last month were disappointing... For anyone who knows or has a taste for Indian food knows that is it flavorful , spicy and unique because of the nature of ingredients. Understaffed? We have been to this place a number of times as the food is good and we are in the neighborhood a lot with our kids activities. Today I stopped in on the way home from work to get some food to go for myself and the kids for lunch. I placed my order at 12:30. They initially told me 20 minutes. At the 40 minute mark they told me 10 more minutes. At the 60 minute mark... 5 more minutes. People that came in after I had sat there for 45-60 minutes had received their food as I still waited. At 80 minutes they told me they were packing it up.... I finally received my food at 2:02. 1 hour and 32 minute wait. It was great as I had a baby sitter at home I paid to watch my kid as I waited to get lunch. At no time did they apologize during my wait. Only as they handed me the food. Love trying new and local spots! We got a to-go order last night from Persis and it was delicious. Everything was piping hot when my husband got it home and so wonderfully spicy. We ordered the Chicken Kadhai (spicy), the Chicken Korma (spicy), Chicken Tikka Masala (mild for our not so spice loving son) basmati rice and garlic naan. The portion sizes were generous and we all had plenty leftover for lunch and/or dinner in the next few days. I love that each Indian restaurant we try has a different way of preparing dishes so you get a unique take on them and not the same thing everywhere you go. My wife and I came across this restaurant as it is in the plaza closest to the hotel in which we were staying. We don't have a lot of Indian options in our hometown so we thought "why not?". I was a bit over zealous, or maybe just not as hungry as my stomach was telling me...so we ordered samosa and chicken Manchurian as appetizers. Both dishes were phenomenal, the chicken Manchurian was medium spicy and the right amount of flavor, really complex and layered. We had ordered chicken curry and methi chicken for our entrees, by the time they arrived we were so full we had to ask for them to be boxed up...but not without trying a fresh bite first. Let me tell you the chicken curry is an explosion of flavor. If you're not a fan of curry I'd still recommend you trying this dish; it's not overwhelming curry and spiced just right. The methi chicken was creamy and well balanced. For context-I am writing this now while eating the leftover entree and have to say it is just as good as when it was first served. We will be coming back to the Fort Mill area for business and visiting friends but now we also have a restaurant that I will look forward to each visit. read more

This is my friends Karl and Alicia's favorite Indian Restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Chettinadu, which had curry leaves and pepper corns. The first order of Garlic Naan was burned and cold so I sent it back. The kitchen manager came back out with it and told me that's how it is because it's made in a clay oven. But I told him to turn it over and see if that is something that he would eat. The second batch was perfect. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. I asked for native Indian spicy and they delivered. Now this isn't a tongue number. This is a fully body experience that will leave you tingling at the end. It was so hot that it brought tears to my eyes. They do have chutney but you have to ask for it. Good to know for next time. I had a pleasant experience but this place looks like they took over a sports bar and hung some Indian wallpaper up. But the food was great and while you can't eat the decor I just hate sports bars. read more
