We came again, bringing my daughter this time. We tried a few different things and truly enjoyed them all. My daughter tried the purple corn juice, delicious. For appetizers, we had the beef empanada and quarter roasted chicken. Delicious! For entrees, I got the ceviche based on the recommendation from the other customer last time, and it was so good, great flavor with varieties of seafood including crab. My daughter had the Tacu Tscu b/c it was so good last time. My husband had the Entrana. We all enjoyed our dinner very much! If you like Peruvian food, you should try this place. If you haven't tried Peruvian food, you really should go here. Their food is flavorful, and other customers told me it's authentic too. So happy they are in my town. ^_^

This is by far the best Peruvian restaurant in New Jersey !!! The quality of the food is amazing , not only the but the service makes it even better. The servers they are very welcoming and make sure we are doing good but most important owner made us feel like home. Great for families and couples. This is now my favorite place.

I've heard so many good things about this restaurant. It didn't disappoint. We ordered the skirt steak which came with rice/ beans. The rice/ beans were unremarkable but flavor in the steak made up for it. The steak was also a good size- enough for 2 meals. Owner is extremely friendly & very customer oriented. The waitress doesn't speak much English but did a good job understanding our requests & was very attentive. BYO always a plus. I've heard frequent compliments about their chicken, so I'll be getting that next for takeout. Try Peru Chikann. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

First time at Peru Chikann. First and foremost, I was very impressed by the quality here - everything is made from scratch and to order. You can taste the difference. I know Peruvian food, and before the plate was even on the table, I could tell they cook from scratch. The place is really cute and it's BYOB. Service was great, and the owner, Freddy, is super welcoming. He previously had a restaurant in Williamsburg Brooklyn for almost 20 yrs and decided to open something closer to home. If you like Peruvian food and/or you appreciate restaurants that don't take shortcuts, you will love this place. Closed Tuesdays.

The food is very, very good. The service is personable and efficient. A pretty little restaurant with excellent spacing between tables. For appetizers my wife and I shared the yellow potato stuffed with beef and a house salad (well-dressed). For entrees I ordered the Arroz de Marsiscos and my wife enjoyed the Pollo Saltado. To finish up we shared the Picarones with in-house syrup. So good! We'll be back AND it's a BYO!

Out of all of them, this location has honestly been the one we've enjoyed the most and the one we keep coming back to. That said, over the past year or two, I do feel the food quality has declined a bit. I recently ordered the lomo saltado (the lower-priced option), and while the meat was flavorful and savory, there was a little too much broth, which made the fries and rice soggy. My husband ordered the tacu tacu with steak, but it felt like there were barely any beans in it. For the kids, we ordered salchipapa. They enjoyed it, but I was expecting the hot dogs to have a little more crisp instead of being soft. What keeps us coming back is the experience here. The restaurant is always clean, organized, and has a really nice ambiance. The staff is attentive, service is quick, and we rarely have to wait or follow up on anything. Their ají verde is still really good too. Overall, I'd say 3.5 stars for the food, but 4 stars for service, ambiance, and overall experience. I really hope the food quality improves because this location has been one of our favorites.

While I haven't dined in, the restaurant has a casual and inviting atmosphere from what I've seen. It is a bit on the darker side inside, but still comfortable and welcoming. The only real challenge is parking, which can be a little difficult depending on when you visit. Overall, a great spot for both takeout and catering, and I'll definitely keep coming back.

Cleanliness: I have been there twice and both times I've watched as the waitresses clean the tables and chairs thoroughly, followed by a quick sweep under the tables before each new guest. That gave us peace of mind for sure. Service: The waitresses were very kind. We aren't very familiar with Peruvian food (we always eat the same dishes) and they helped us choose a new "to us" appetizer they felt we would like. Which we ended up liking a lot. They checked in on us during appropriate times and refilled our waters. When we asked for the check it came quickly without us feeling rushed. It was a good experience. Meals: Appetizer: Yuca Huchaina (I totally spelled that wrong..sorry) fried Yuca with cheese sauce. It was delicious. Fried to perfection. We ate it all up embarrassingly fast. Hey, we were hungry lol! Drink: we tried the "Chicha" purple drink. Wow this was amazing. Yes it is purple! It is sweet and has a touch of pineapple in it. We opted to get a pitcher for the three of us. Vida Seafood dish- It came with ceviche, leche de Tigre and fried seafood mix. This dish was a big hit. My parents said they would order it next time. It hit all the things I was craving. I loved that I got the best of both worlds with half fried seafood and half ceviche (fish only). Ceviche and leche de Tigre was super flavorful with spices and lime. I got extra spice and it was perfect. I wanted to drink it right from the small bowl it was that good. My Dad ended up finishing my plate once I got full. He was super jealous of my plate haha! - Ceviche Classico- Also Flavorful and yummy. If you're super hungry this may not fill you up. Hence, why my Dad finished my meal but he loved it! I had this dish during my first visit. It was delicious. - Pescado Saltado...my Mom loved this dish. The fish literally falls apart in your mouth. Every piece was flavorful and drenched in the yummy sauce. It came with rice and French fries and plenty of fish pieces. Overall: I give this place a 5. What matters to us is quality and taste of the food, service and cleanliness. And they deserve 5 stars for Leche De Tigre.
