That said, over the past year or two, I do feel the food quality has declined a bit. I recently ordered the lomo saltado (the lower-priced option), and while the meat was flavorful and savory, there was a little too much broth, which made the fries and rice soggy. My husband ordered the tacu tacu with steak, but it felt like there were barely any beans in it. For the kids, we ordered salchipapa. They enjoyed it, but I was expecting the hot dogs to have a little more crisp instead of being soft. What keeps us coming back is the experience here. The restaurant is always clean, organized, and has a really nice ambiance. The staff is attentive, service is quick, and we rarely have to wait or follow up on anything. Their ají verde is still really good too. Overall, I'd say 3.5 stars for the food, but 4 stars for service, ambiance, and overall experience. The shrimp appetizer was slightly overcooked and mealy, and the special broiled red snapper was similarly dry. I enjoyed the octopus, flavorful with a satisfying chew, and veal cutlets, well fried and sauced.
