This place is a rip off!!!! Vey selfish stuck up people who just want your money and dont care about you. Right after my pet died i was going to go straight there to have her cremated and told them i was going to be there about 30-45 min after closeing hours.They said they would wait but would have to pay extra fees. i asked if i could bring a necklace from a store online to be filled with ahes and they refused to service 3rd party products. The only product i bought from them (because of their rude service) was the dog tag necklace and the paw print on the tag looks like a standard paw print, not my cat's paw print like it should have been. I compared it to the paw prints i got from the vet, they look nothing alike. Not worth the $125 they charged for it. GO TO HEAVENLY PAWS!!!!!!! I went to Heavenly paws in Norcross GA to have her creamated instead. Their service goes above and beyond. They offered to stay late without extra fees, they service 3rd party items and they are overall genuine caring people. You get more for your money at Heavenly Paws. read more

Very nice folks at this business. They helped out my sister when "my" dog passed away that I had given her. My sister fell in love with my dog and was devastated. The owner's son came over to the house and quickly took care of the body. This is truly a family business and they take care of their customers. They have fair prices and great customer service. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this place is! The owner came in for me on a Sunday when my cat, Moe had just passed. Debbie is also fantastic! She was very warm and compassionate during my loss and I could tell she was very genuine and empathetic. The cremation service was quick and at a reasonable price. I paid $45 to get a paw print of my pup on a sheet with a prayer for dogs and a heart shaped opening in which to place a picture. I took a picture of his prints before he passed and made a couple of ink prints myself. The sheet I received with the prayer is nice, but the print does not look anything like my dog's print... I paid for individual cremation and to receive his cremains back. I hope the ashes I received are from my dog. read more

My little doggie Teddy died October 30, 2012, he was very sick and passed away peacefully with his family. I'm so heartbroken. I called Deceased Pet Care today to inquire about their services. Losing a pet is hard, but this place makes dealing with it easier. My vet, Dr. Lavell from The People's Pets in Tucker (love her!) referred me here. Deceased Pet Care picked up my sweet doggie and called me before proceeding with the cremation. Even though I had filled out a form with my vet for instructions, I think it's a nice touch to call and confirm everything-just in case. I spoke with Lanelle (spelling?) and she was very friendly, patient, and empathetic. Too often, when dealing with people in customer service situations, one can feel rushed or not heard; this was not the case with Deceased Pet Care. When my dog's cremains were ready a day or so later, I received another very nice phone call from the front desk letting me know the cremains were ready for pickup. Each call was warm and relayed condolences. My family and I arrived at the building; it's very nicely decorated with a beautiful chapel. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the building to make sure it's a comfortable and an inviting place. My dog's cremains and certificate were presented to me with thoughtful detail. I hope it's many years before I have to use their services again, but I will be back when the time comes. A+ experience! read more

The staff here was so kind and gentle when I had to use their services to say goodbye to my best friend. Even the building itself feels warm, friendly and calming. Losing a pet is never easy, but picking them to help me was the best choice. I really wanted a keepsake, something I could see and feel, which I settled on a clay paw print. I don't know how they make them but the detail is amazing. I can feel all those little rough parts that I always enjoyed when I would hold his paws. I feel like other paw prints don't capture all of that detail. They also had a great selection of other keepsakes. Losing a furry loved one is not something anyone wants to think about or plan for, but when the unfortunate day comes that your pet has crossed into the next life, Deceased Pet Care is the best choice for cremation. They guarantee it is only your pet's ashes (they don't even offer the "group cremation" that some places do), which was extremely important to me. The staff is genuinely kind, respectful and very understanding, which was comforting during my time of grief. In addition to the certificate stating it is only your pet's ashes, they also included a sympathy card and a card with the prayer that is said when each animal arrives to be cremated, which was a sweet gesture. We went with the most affordable option and just got the standard tin for ashes, but they have other options for a vessel and also offer other services to memorialize your pet (paw prints, nose prints, etc). As a side note, the facility itself is very nice and makes you feel as comfortable as possible during a difficult time. I would highly recommend Deceased Pet Care to anyone who has to go through losing a pet and wants them to be cremated in a great facility with people who actually care about you and your furry loved one. read more

Unfortunately, it was the passing of my boyfriend's cat that showed me this place was a place to avoid. At least I found out before mine did. These folks just don't have the empathy the two other places I have been to have. They seem to think they are dealing with selling Mercedes or luxury purses and not grieving people. When I inquired about bringing in a necklace I had for my cat's ashes and how I wanted to scatter them, I got the most condescending look I have ever received. They also refused to fill the necklace, saying they don't do third party items. I got this necklace because I like it, and it is a perfect fit for my cat. It isn't sold anywhere else. Their prerogative and their loss. I feel bad for my boyfriend, but at least I knew this place wouldn't be a good fit for me. read more

Deceased Pet Care promises "same day" and "24 hour" service on their website in addition to "full-time funeral directors". There is no mention of 'regular business hours' on their website. My Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, passed away on Friday (1/2/2015) at the UGA emergency vet. I agreed to have Deceased Pet Care take care of the cremation process based on the high recommendation from the veterinarian. The doctor said I would receive a phone call from the company "soon". I waited all day Saturday and Sunday on that phone call. When 9:00 pm Sunday arrived, I was distraught and disgusted by the company's apparent lack of respect for my loss. I called the number provided on the website and was received by an answering service. This was the same answering service that a message was left with on Friday night. The answering service was unable to provide specific information concerning Tinkerbell. I requested the advertised "full-time funeral director" call me back so I could figure out where my pet was. I received a call back from Jullian. Jullian first told me she didn't know where Tinkerbell was, in addition to not having any record of her existence. Later in the conversation, Jullian said Tinkerbell was "probably at UGA still". At the end of our conversation, Jullian admitted Tinkerbell was at UGA. When asked how she suddenly acquired this new knowledge, Jullian said they didn't pick up pets on the weekends. I mentioned the website and the statements about 24-hour service. Jullian became very rude, argumentative, and arrogant. She said their company has "regular business hours". She told me that I was being outrageous for asking for anything more from the company. I told her I only wanted a phone call. She said I would receive one next week. She also claimed that I "inconveniencing" her when I made her pull her car over to the roadside to speak to me. We ended the conversation with me requesting a phone call from Jullian's boss. I waited on the second phone call for about an hour. In the interim, I contacted UGA and requested a different company pick Tinkerbell up. I never received a call from Deceased Pet Care, so I called Jullian back. She was again argumentative and cold. I cancelled her services. The level of service I received from Deceased Pet Care was deplorable. I expected a phone call at least by Saturday and never heard anything. I expected a kind, respectful, caring funeral director, but spoke to Jullian instead. I can't believe this company is recommended by Dale Cardwell. Apparently Dale Cardwell hasn't gone through the heart wrenching experience I went through after losing my loved one. I truly believe this company is misleading its customers with false advertising and terrible service. read more

As a Funeral Director I know how a family should be treated during a death. Paul was absolutely wonderful. He treated our Bailey as she were his and that was most important to us. on july 5th the day after my 67th birthday i had to put my friend and loyal companion for 10 and 1/2 years down due to complications from cancer. The drs and staff were all very compassionate and caring and were telling me that at least he died with his dignity intact. Approximately a week later i was contacted by deceased pet care and was asked what were my plans for my pet,i asked what were my options as i am living on social security and was told the cheapest package they had would cost 280 dollars. i asked if i could pay that over a period of time and was told the most they would give me was 30 days. so i payed 1/2 that day and said i would pay the other half on the 2nd wed. in august when i get my ss check. Around the end of july i get a call asking when i would pay the remainder and i said the 2nd wed of august which was the 9th and was told we only offer 30 days holding and i said really its only 4 more days and she relented and said well ok. my friend and companion was placed in a freezer until i was able to pay the ransom for him... so much for dying with dignity. Am just cautioning others about my experience with them as it has left a very bitter taste in my mouth and my heart. read more

This is where to turn when your pet has passed. Deceased Pet Care is a well established professional business that you can count on. The staff is very kind and treats you like a old friend of the family. They are not pushy, they aren't trying to sell you on everything, they are there to help you and for me that's just what they did. They helped me with our cat Hunter who was only 11yrs old when we lost him to cancer. Our sadness was overwhelming and decisions didn't come easy. They were never pushy, they made me feel like we mattered, like Hunter mattered and because we couldn't make a decision that day, we choose to take a few days to think things through before we called them back to make final plans to have him cremated. Again treated with kindness. When Hunters ashes were returned well they presented him with honor. I think this company is amazing and I am thankful for all their help, their kindness, and the loving way they honored our sweet cat Hunter. read more

Getting ashes back was ok; however, I ordered the paw print plaque. OMG this thing looks like it has been run over by a truck. The plastic is so scratched you can FEEL them with your finger. They tried to "re-do" it and the replacement isn't as scrateched but is still pretty AWFUL - it looks like some 25 cent piece of plastic that was thrown cross the pavement. If I had known it would look this bad I would have saved the extra $75 and just not ordered it. How sad to be in so much pain over loosing a dog and now have to look at what should be a good memory piece, but looks like crap and just get upset over it everytime I look at it. I will NEVER take a deceased animal here again, there are others out there that I wish I knew about before just telling the vet to arrange it. read more

My sweet girl passed away unexpectedly. As you can imagine, I was distraught and unprepared. I'm so happy I was offered the services of Deceased Pet Care. I had no I idea what I wanted when I made the initial call to finalize Leia's affairs. Esther (the counselor) could sense that I was all over the map and suggested I come in early. She was really sweet on the phone. I'm so thankful that she anticipated my needs because I changed my mind about everything as soon as I got there and there was plenty of time to make the changes. Mr. Paul (the attendant) was flexible and honored all my wishes. He worked so hard to make sure my baby was taken care of with dignity and respect. She looked beautiful (and this was three days after her passing). He was so professional and made sure I felt 'right at home'. There were no surprises and he kept me informed of the whole process (I ultimately chose the same day service with chapel time and viewing of her remains in and out of the crematorium. I'm so grateful I was able to witness the whole process as it brought me closure). I'd like to add that the facility is immaculate and well maintained. It is very warm and inviting. My only suggestion to pet owners is to visit Deceased Pet Care and get your pet's affairs in order well before they pass. However, know that if you don't, this place will still take great care of you and your baby. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of Deceased Pet Care. I recently had to euthanize my 31 year old mare. The decision was made on a Sunday to be performed the next day because of her rapidly declining health. Deceased Pet Care was incredibly accommodating by returning my calls that Sunday and getting everything arranged for the following day. Every other location I had tried would not answer calls on Sunday. Because it was a horse cremation, there were not many options to begin with. Deceased Pet Care drove out of their normal range to come to my boarding barn. Their driver who came to collect my horse (sorry, can't remember his name) arrived exactly when we asked him to and showed extreme care and compassion during the entire process of collecting my mare after she had passed. Horses are such big animals that I'm sure the process can and should be somewhat awkward, but he was incredibly gentle with her throughout. I was very appreciative to see him take the care that he did. I moved away from GA to NJ a few months ago and Deceased Pet Care could not have made the long-distance process easier on me. The company also told me it would be a week between the cremation and when I would receive her ashes in Jersey and my girl arrived safely home exactly a week later. I had to euthanize my beloved dog unexpectedly last month. I was so incredibly heartbroken. This was my first experience dealing with the loss of such a special pet companion. DPC was very understanding and compassionate at every step. I was such an emotional wreck on the first phone call to make arrangements. Esther was so patient and supportive. My husband was out of town at the time my dog passed away, but flew back the next day. The fact that DPC offered us a viewing helped my husband say good bye and have some closure. It was also a chance for me to see my dog looking relaxed and at peace one last time. That was so important in the grieving process for me. I ordered a charm with her paw and nose prints. The finished charm was mailed to me. DPC called me the day after it arrived to be sure I was happy with the charm and that it met my expectations. It did. I would definitely recommend DPC. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Two days ago we made the heart-wrenching decision to put down our beloved Blue. Since it was Sunday, the only facility that was open was an Emergency Vet. During the signing of the paperwork after our decision was made, the vet conveniently slipped in for an authorization for cremation from this place. We were told, as we were leaving in tears, that someone would be contacting us the next day regarding arrangements, and we were. After we were told the outrageous pricing to basically get our beloved pet back in a plastic bag, and then made to feel like if we didnt pay all this extra money then we really didnt care about our pet, we told them we were not using them. We contacted another facility, who set up transport to get our dog. Either this facility does not communicate with their drivers or this is their MO, but they went to the facility and took my dog. When the facility that we choose called us and we called DCP, they reassured us that their driver would turn around. After 45 mins of waiting we called and spoke with another person at DCP who told that our dog was taken to their facility. She flat out LIED to us. The driver would not take the dog back to the vets office and we were lucky they didnt charge us a $35 fee for transport is what we were told. This place is the worst possible place I have ever encountered. They also blamed the vets office, bc and I quote "vet techs arent the smartest of people". The owner's daughter, who wanted to explain more to me about her father's legacy then the pain and anguish we were going through thinking that a place that did not have authorization to have our animal was driving him around all over creation, is the worst of the worst. Our loving family member was diminished down to a monetary value. They must have some partnership with the vets bc their release was the only one given to us, when we know at least three other companies deal with that particular vet. We also know from other sources that this place NEVER does private cremations that all are communal. This place profits off of grief in the worst way possible. Do not send your beloved family member here. read more
