I used to have good things to say about Pet Depot Veterinary when Dr. Clark was there, but I am sad to say that the past couple of times have not been pleasant. I went in for a consultation for a teeth cleaning, and saw one of the technicians who recommended an "echocardiogram" as part of the pre-op. My doggie has a heart murmur, so I wanted the echocardiogram to get that out of the way before proceeding with the rest of the pre-op. Unfortunately, for reasons out of their control, the radiology equipment wasn't working last week, so I had to schedule this echocardiogram. I canceled an appointment that I had previously scheduled with a cardiologt (from a specialist vet clinic), since they were going to do the echocardiogram here. I took my doggie in for his appointment yesterday, and Dr. Chad informed me that my doggie would need x-rays due to the heart murmur. I asked him why that wasn't part of the original pre-op, and in a very condescending way, he told me that he was not a part of that consultation and had nothing to say about it. I decided to ignore how I felt, paid for the echocardiogram and x-rays, and just got a call with the results. Upon looking at everything that happened, I came to find out that my doggie received an electrocardiogram, NOT an echocardiogram, which is what I scheduled, and the appointment I canceled with a specialist! It is not okay that I was charged for an echocardiogram, when he got an electrocardiogram. And it is not okay that I got suckered into x-rays when the echocardiogram hadn't even been done. Now, the cardiologist who was originally supposed to see my doggie a couple of days ago only has openings in late October! This is unacceptable. Had my dog Doug washed and groomed today. My first time grooming him here. My dog is a doodle and his hair was pretty long when I brought him in. They groomed him exactly how I asked, pretty short on the body, with some shape left on the face. The girl I dealt with there was extremely pleasant. I should have asked her name. This store itself is well-equipped and the staff are friendly, but I had a horrible experience with the vet who was supposed to help me this day. After waiting for 30 minutes in a small room with 3 small children, the vet appeared in the room and obviously had zero etiquette - didn't say hello, introduce himself, nothing - except began with: "Our ultrasounds don't cost $92 - they cost (several hundred dollars)." I told him that that's not what was told to me on the phone when I asked the cost. He argued with me and told me that I was "told wrong." He was not only argumentative, he was 30 minutes late, extremely rude, and at the end of our very short conversation, left and slammed the door on his way out! Either this "vet" hates breeders, had a very bad day, or is just a nasty person in general - but he obviously flunked the first rule of customer service. At this point, I was very angry and asked for the manager, who came to talk with me. She was very nice, apologized and said she would speak to the general manager and they would get back to me. I gave her a couple days before writing this review, but they never did. I will NEVER use this veterinary office again, and I would NEVER recommend it. Being a vet is more than just examining your pet. It's communicating with the owner, listening to the owner, discussing the treatment and creating a relationship like you have with your medical doctor. My partner and I brought our kitty in for a check up since she had a fever and was not eating and they were able to take her in the very next day. What really hit home for me was that she called us to follow up three days later after our kitty's appointment to see how our baby was doing. Visited Dr. Ransom and his team on February 7th. We had just picked up our newest member to our pack. An 11 week old German Shepherd female - Sachi. Called as soon as we got her and they were able to see Sachi that same day. Briana greeted us when we got there and was amazing with the care she was giving Sachi. She answered all our questions. Once Dr. Ransom came in, he checked Sachi thoroughly. Educated us on how to care for her because of her breed. Never did he or any of his team make us feel uncomfortable or try to up sell us. Let me first say, I use to love this office until today. I couldn't get a same day appointment for my dog with his primary vet so I always use this place as my emergency backup because they aren't always "THAT BUSY." Today, I was running 10 mins behind to my 11:00 am appointment so I called to let them know I would be running a few minutes behind. Their employee told me I had until 11:15 until my dog would no longer be seen. I get there at 11:08 only to be turned away because the vet was prepping for surgery. The front desk assistant who originally answered my call apologized for not calling me back to tell me that the doctor was going in to prep for surgery. As a business you don't give someone a time frame and then reject them when they get there. They gave me another time slot that they had for today at 5 pm. I took the time slot, went back to my car and sat there for a second until it really hit me that they strait dismissed me as a customer when I got there minutes before the grace period had ended. I don't live in La Verne and drove all the way from chino hills to give this place a chance to see my dog. Even if I lived 5 mins from their office and they turned me away, I'd still be upset because it was the attitude I received when I called while sitting in my car to cancel the 5 pm appointment. I explained my situation and how offended I felt but instead of being professional in dealing with a dissatisfied customer I received a horrible attitude from the manager, who's name is DARLENE J. I don't know who she got her training from, but she def shouldn't be managing anything. I was letting her know my situation and she kept interjecting while I was speaking, which is off the top RUDE. I know you're going to read this "DARLENE" but you need to take that classless act of an attitude that you have out of that office and do a better job at dealing with your dissatisfied customers. You even encouraged me to go ahead a leave a bad review. As a person running someone else's business you should take pride into not wanting a bad yelp review but you verbalized that you could care less. How embarrassing! You need to go back into training because this isn't going to be the first nor will it be the last bad review you're going to get. Trust me. Don't bring your pups here unless you want to deal with a ratchet attitude. Maybe your employees shouldn't schedule appointments 15 mins before the doc has to GO INTO SURGERY! Soo I've always seen their add in the "Magazine of values" that comes with a bunch of couples from local stores and restaurants. Anyways we saw their add about $10 self doggie wash! So amazing since a typical dog was by a groomer is $20-$30! They supply you with brushes, combs, bath stuff, shampoos for body and face, the collar, and dryers, and towels! It's a great deal! They allow 2 dogs per customer. The groomers in their are also very helpful and let you use flea shampoo if needed. The rest of the place has dogs houses, clothes, food, and other animals. They have cats, bunnies, birds, etc. they also have Merriks dog food which can be hard to find. Will def be returning to this place. read more

I Went to get my 11 week old bulldog puppy vaccinated here today based on the Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did. The regular vet was not in so we saw Dr Mary Howe,I was advised of this at the time I scheduled my appointment so I was fine with that. The staff was friendly at the time of check in and made us feel welcome. Once we arrived to the exam room we met with Dr Howe. She was very friendly and was genuinely interested in my dogs wellbeing. She took her time in examining my dog and answered all of my questions. After Rocky's exam was finished I was given an itemized bill prior to them starting treatment. It was a little expensive for all the suggested treatments so I picked some of the things that I felt were important at this time. When the techs entered the room to give my dog his shots and Medications they made rocky feel comfortable,they made the process as quick and easy. Im glad we I chose Pet Depot for Rocky. We took our 8 week old puppy to get his shots and this staff made a very scared little puppy so comfortable. We have gone back two times since for the rest of his shots and are scheduled to go back in two weeks for rabies. The Dr answered all mine and my husbands questions and we had a lot being first time pet owners. The Vet Techs were so helpful with everything we needed and helped us calm our puppy down after he received his shots. We have found our new family members permanent Drs office. I took my 8-9 week old puppy here because she was experiencing bloating and had a weird gaging cough (not kennel cough). Pet depot immediately presented a quote for Around $950 with the most random test/services (in retrospect). There was literally a line on quote that said misc. other medicine $200. I got them to cut some of BS, dropped bill down to $450. After x ray, fecal test... and other tests, the vet still didn't know what was wrong, instead recommended more costly tests. Rather than go down rabbit hole with this dumb vet, I cut my losses and went to Citrus vet. Citrus was able to diagnose right away; prescribed some dewormer and nausea medicine and puppy was ok in one day. Pet Depot Vet, including the entire staff from receptionist to assistants are stupid incompetent and dishonest. Save your self time and pay a little extra to go to an honest quality vet, citrus vet. Pet Depot will just try to rip you off. I would honestly question they even do the work they charge. I was lucky to recover what I prepaid for puppy package too, but essentially lost $500 here. Overall this vet is the jiffy lube of vets. read more

My eight-year-old Yorkiepoo gets extremely nervous with vet visits. I've been bringing her in to this vet for years because they are gentle and quick, making it as painless as possible for Lucy. They are also very honest about what your pet needs and care foremost about their health. If your dog isn't quite ready for a dental cleaning, they will go over with you how to brush their teeth and improve their breath, whereas other places I've dealt with see dollar signs and push every procedure before it's necessary. I've also been bringing in my poodle mix Stella since she was a few weeks old. They make the whole vaccination process very simple and easy to understand. Dr. Ransom is one of the best veterinarians I've ever dealt with. He's friendly, knowledgeable, and it makes me feel at ease that my beloved pets are in his hands. It's also very convenient that any food, treats, or supplements I might need are right there as I exit the store. I brought my dog in to get treated for an allergic reaction that affected her eyes and snout. Pet Depot Veterinary Group were great! I was acknowledged right away. Waited a short while before they took in my dog. The nurses were very caring and handled my dog well. I can tell they love what they do and truly care about the animals. After getting treatment, the doctor was very thorough in explaining my dogs needs for the treatment. I noticed how the the vet clinic manager was kind and attentive to each animal that came in. I have so much love for this Veterinary group! My dog Otis is a 6 yr old Shih Tzu and he has a skin condition that is very common in small dogs. Dr. Fernandez found the perfect cocktail of medication to put Otis on that would not make him drowsy and still allow him to live a full and healthy life. All of the staff at Katie's Pet Depot Veterinary group is so pleasant! Their #1 goal is the health of my pet, and not how much money I spend. I haven't actually been to the actual location so I can't give it a full review but I did just call today and honestly the woman on the phone was sooo sweet and helpful! My dog ate some grapes (which are toxic) so I was asking her questions in regards to that and she genuinely seemed interested in helping me out, she me kept asking me questions and about how my dog was acting which was really nice because I have called other clinics and hospitals and they give you a runaround and don't really give you any information because they want you to come in but she didn't seem to try to sell me anything at all she did give me an option to come in if I wanted to but the fact that she talked to me I felt like I was talking to a doctor she was so sweet and that's really rare to find. When I call other places they give me the "well it's your problem kind of attitude" it's not hard at all to just be nice.
