Finally tried a self-serve dog wash today-- absolute game changer. Warm water, raised tub, blow dryer. Will definitely be back

12/10/22 I was just walking around 2nd Street enjoying the sights & on my way to the Discovery Shop (American cancer society). At the sidewalk, front off ft Pet Food Express, lies a tent with tables & three cages with kitties inside. Awwww, melt your heart sight! I stopped by just to see the little fur babies just lounging, some asleep, just purring away looking at the people passing by. You can make a donation (there's a donation box on top of one of the cages. There were 3 employees stationed there to answer your question about adoption & keeping an eye on them kitties. I wish I could adopt & support this cause but I'd make a terrible fur baby mom. For those of you who are interested, come check 'em out! The kitties are spayed/neutered--see photo/placard!

wanted to get my frenchie some new treats and also check out pet food express' new location on 2nd! i was greeted upon entering and clearly looked lost because he asked what i needed help looking for LOL, i noticed i was also on the wrong side of the store, but wanted to check out their pet wash area. so once you enter the store, the cat section is to the left and doggie stuff is to the right.. i immediately got distracted because there was so much to look at and love how clean and organized their store was! then got overwhelmed because there was too many options LOL i needed to stay focus, so i picked up vital essentials treats in salmon, rabbit, duck and beef tripe flavors. also purchased the vital essentials' chicken entree dog food to add to my frenchie's meal as a topper.. the staff there were all so nice! def will be returning to try out different brands :) parking: its long beach! street and there are a few parking lots

All employees were helpful and finally I came home and tried some of the food that Charlie had recommended.

Some people judge others by what brands of shoes and clothes they wear, I judge others by what…read morebrand of food they feed their pets. There's a ton of brands of dog/cat food but the difference between the brands sold here and let's say, Pet Supplies plus, vs what's being sold at Petsmart... is quality. If you shop here, you're very demure, very mindful. Let's be friends. So, I love my dog so much that I started taking canine nutrition courses. I've learned a lot about their diet and all, because I want to feed my pets the best and figure out from those brands that meet the standard I'm looking for, and see what fits my budget. A lot of the brands that canine nutritionists and very knowledgeable dog lovers in general, recommend and personally use, are sold at Centinela. I find it very interesting that they don't have most these brands at Petsmart or Petco. With the exception of a few like Nulo, or Merrick, etc. I would love to see Open Farm or Farmina ND at Petco! Anyway, I like that these brands that I love and support and will always be using are accessible here for a quick pickup, and I don't have to wait for an online order to be delivered. I was trying to explain to my friend what the difference is between those big stores and these smaller ones. I like to refer to these types of stores as holistic. Only holistic vets will actually commend you for going out of your way to do research on what you're buying and what's on the ingredient list. I went to a vet a few years ago and I brought the open farm bag of kibble and she just looked and it and didn't comment anything. Later pushed for hills science diet, yeah ok. She DID comment on how my dog was the healthiest she had ever seen of that breed. Yeah doc, cause I don't feed her hills science diet. So if I have to take my dog to a holistic vet so be it. There's no need to be said that these brands can be pricey. If you sign up for the rewards you can score some discounts. Just recently they had an in store cyber Monday weekend and there were such great deals! The customer service here is also very mention worthy. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. When I started doing research on dog food I spoke with a staff member here and she was giving me such incredible feedback on canine nutrition that aligns with what I want to prioritize for my dog. Meanwhile if you ask Petsmart employees they are clueless and point you towards Royal Canin. Thanks Centinela for existing in my neighborhood! See you soon.

I love that it's close enough to Rosie's Dog Beach that you can take your buddy here right after to get off all the sand. There were two rooms with wash stations and one area to dry the dog off with an air blower. Compared to the Fullerton location, I didn't like that they lacked drying stations, but at least there was one. It was super busy the day I took my dog (Thurday afternoon), but I was able to nab that spot and try to dry off my dog quickly since all the wash stations were being used, including the one I had just left. The wash stations seemed clean enough despite being super busy and I got everything I needed. Just be sure to ask for a short leash so you don't get yours soaked.
