Her fur was so choppy when I picked her up and they charged me over $100 dollars for a bath and a haircut alone when online it said it was 80 and I was going to get a $20 discount for it being the first time. My dog is 10 pounds and she is so gentle and doesn't move when I bath her. It's hard for me to understand why her fur was not even when she has had grooming services at other grooming stores and they have never left her fur so uneven like this. Easy to Return Items! I had an unfortunate situation where I had to return used kitten milk. I only used about six spoonfuls so the cover on the top of the container was gone. I just explained that I needed to return this item, I handed them my receipt, they took the receipt, they inspected the item, they noticed the kitten milk had already been used, they scanned the barcode, and they told me they were handing me my money in cash. It was super easy to return, and I thought they wouldn't be able to return my item because it was used. It wasn't a difficult process to return my item so it was nice to know that if I ever have an issues with future PetSmart purchases, I could return them with no issue. read more

Hello, I urgently need to file a complaint regarding a specific employee. Today, I visited the PetSmart located on Cherry Avenue in Signal Hill. I was looking for shampoo for my small dog, but the employee named ( Viry ) was rude the entire time; she offered no recommendations and paid absolutely no attention to me as a customer. She had a very harsh attitude, and her facial expression made it clear that she didn't care at all. I don't understand how someone with such a bad attitude can work in customer service!!! read more

Went here and a girl helped us very nice but also coughing like crazy. Flu season right now people and people can easily get sick especially children. While she was helping she was coughing non-stop. I just moved to California three months ago from the east coast and my puppy Wednesday was at that point where she needed to have a haircut. I had been holding it off for about a month due to being a little stressed on, ensuring that I find someone good and ensuring Wednesday would be OK. I went to Costco next to this PetSmart in signal Hill and I've never been in there before and just randomly noticed that they had a grooming department . I went inside and got a price quote. I will say I was a little nervous while discussing pricing and how long it's been since her last visit it plus someone new cutting her hair and told Bree and her colleague that it made me a little anxious to just get Wednesday cut by anybody, but I decided to go ahead and allow them to give her a haircut. This was the best decision ever. Bree was the person who cut her hair and told me it would be about three hours, until she would be done so I went off and did a couple errands but before I could complete anything, Bree called and stated she was already done with Wednesday. It was only about 40 minutes after I dropped her off. Bree absolutely did an amazing job cutting Wednesday the same way, from a photograph that I showed her of how she usually is groomed. She plucked her ears. She did her nails. cut her fur, as well, as pressed her glands, and it was not expensive at all (which was another worry of mine) I was absolutely blown away by the amazing job that Bree had done with Wednesday and even though I don't live close to this location, I'll probably be driving out here from now on because she did such an amazing job. I definitely recommend anybody to come to this location. It was soooo worth it. I wish I could have tipped more than I did but I sadly couldn't due to finances at the moment. The grooming operation here is garbage. I took my dog here against my better judgment because my regular groomer wasn't available. At the outset, the check in experience was cold and chaotic. I was told it would be three hours, four "at the latest." That seemed long for a small dog grooming, but it was the day before a holiday so I let it go. It ended up being nearly five hours, with no update or communication along the way. The staff were rude - pick a struggle! All that aside, my dog came back to me still dirty around the mouth, had a mat behind her ear, and the hair on one of her ears had noticeably different lengths, like a spot had been missed. There was also a giant sign right outside the grooming area advertising $20 off for new appointments. As a surprise to no one, I didn't get the $20 off either. In fact, I was charged a $10 "scissoring fee" for no apparent reason. Total trash experience from start to finish. read more

Soley groomer review. Jen is genuinely a disrespectful person and you can tell she hates her job. Unfortunately Bree my normal groomer was not in today and Jen refused to answer any of my questions. She also held my dog hostage until I paid without seeing him and I didn't know about the up charge until I was at the register. Didn't have the respect to tell me to my face. GiGi the dog bather was kind and respectful. And gave me an upfront answer and Andrew the manager was so kind let me get my dog and said I'll waive it meet me at the register. SHE ALSO CUT HIS EYELASHES and they were soooo long. Like obviously has never been cut throughout many cuts long. Please fire Jen if she hates her job and teach her some customer service manners at the very least. read more

First and foremost, nobody acknowledges the customers when you walk in. They're busy talking to one another. I literally stood in an aisle for a good while hoping someone would pass by to help me. I went to go look for someone and *poof* they dispersed quickly. I gave up and grabbed what I thought was good. Visited today with my sister. She scored an orthopedic doggy bed on clearance for 1/5 of the regular price. This was the best deal we got today. Store was organized and well stocked. Not many employees. Maybe because it was a Sunday or even Father's Day and there's an expectation that they were not going to be busy. This review is for the grooming. Jen did my baby's haircut and I absolutely loved it. I asked her to not cut her eyelashes and she listened. I had seen reviews saying she was rude but I didnt find her rude, I just think she's more of a serious person. I do think they add extra fees for no reason tho. I was getting charged extra for everything and they didn't mention that on the website. Price is kind of pricey but the haircut was lovely. Just wish they would have put perfume on her because usually my dogs come out the salon smelling good but I don't notice a scent on her. read more

We had a grooming appointment with Jacky at this Pet Smart location and ended up disappointed with the service. We booked the top package that includes teeth cleaning, nail grinding, bath, brush, furminator, and an extra pampering package for an add-on of $27. When we arrived for pickup, she started listing all of the things they did NOT do. She claimed our dog was too anxious to allow the majority of the services, but this had never been a problem for us at past vet offices or Pet Smart locations. They flat out did not brush his teeth or trim his nails. They didn't even finish drying him, and he is still damp on the entire lower half of his body. The furminator service was a joke, because his hair is shedding in clumps so nothing was done on that end. And she just didn't do the moisturizing paw and nose butter. (I'm sure I'm forgetting other things she did not do lol) To top it off, they charged an extra $10 handling fee. I can understand this charge if it meant that my dog was getting all of the services that we booked, but that was not the case. How do you charge an extra fee to do half the job we are paying you to do? The whole thing turned out to be $94 for a basic wash, somewhat of a brush, and drying off just half of my dog. I could've done this myself at home, for free. read more

The employees who work here are blatantly racist. Today while buying food for my cat, I witnessed several employees racially profile, stalk and call the police on a man who had clearly not stolen anything simply because he was black, wearing a backpack, and working-class in appearance. Staff followed him around the store, took photos of him behind his back, and stalled him while he was paying for his items at the register to give cops time to arrive. Upon their arrival he answered their questions, showed a receipt for the items he had just purchased and showed them the contents of his backpack, which of course only had his personal belongings. This was deeply disturbing and saddening to witness and I will not be shopping at this awful place again. I can only hope that the staff involved are held accountable to prevent such discriminatory and racist treatment of customers in the future, but I doubt that will be the case. read more

Jamie is amazing! Been bringing my pup here to get groomed for a while now and most of the groomers have been good, but Jamie's service has by far been the best! She's super sweet and has the best energy that my pup warmed up to quickly. She gave me a run down of how he did & found out he's not the most comfortable with nail trimming, which is completely new to me as no other groomer has given me a thorough run down before. She even sent him home with a bandana which I've never received before, even when I've paid for the top package that's supposed to include it. I made a grooming appointment at this location for my French bulldog. This was his first time ever getting groomed but has been to the vet & did just fine. Firstly the second we walked in I wasn't really sold. The grooming staff was not friendly besides the manager I'm assuming. I even told my boyfriend I wasn't too sure I wanted to leave Cheddar there but we figured he needed his nails cut badly so we went with it. The groomers name was Jackie. Not friendly once so ever by the way, I don't think she ever even smiled at us once. After we checked in I told her that this was Cheddar's first time getting groomed and to please be patient with him because he would likely be very nervous. All she said was she had another French bulldog earlier and he was fine up until he needed to be dried and he freaked out. Basically did not feel confident in this girl at all. Lo and behold we went to pick his up and they said they couldn't grind his nails because he wouldn't let them. They said they tried with 2 people and couldn't because he was wiggling around too much. They recommended a vet groomer. I wouldn't even have minded that they couldn't do the service, however.. The entire reason for this post is the second we walked in to pick up our baby the groomer Jackie said "Thank God" Thank God we were there to pick him up? It took every ounce of patience in me not to blow up at this girl. Cheddar is a puppy. He doesn't know many people, was likely extremely nervous which I made PERFECTLY clear beforehand. And I partially blame myself because I already had a bad feeling about this woman Jackie. Besides that we couldn't calm him down for over an hour. God knows how they handled him with this attitude. And to any owners who's dogs were being groomed while we were there, they don't handle your pets with care. I saw a groomer walk with a dog in their hand and the dog hit their face on the plastic screen while she walked by and she didn't even care. Pet smart please consider re-evaluating your groomers. What an absolute terrible feeling it was picking up my dog and hearing your groomer say "Thank God" as if he was a nightmare. I'm sure it was difficult to work with a puppy that's never been groomed before in their life, which I made clear when I spoke with her initially but WOW, I was actually shocked to hear a "professional" dog groomer say that about my baby. Today my wife, daughter and myself came to PetSmart as my wife aquired a kitten for my daughter. We wanted to have our kitten groomed, I knew it was later in the evening so finding someone to do it was gonna be difficult. We initially went to Petco and received poor service. So I told my wife to head to this location because as a kid having dogs, this was always the place to go. To our surprise the grooming section was still open but getting ready to close but Tanya and Jamie took us in with no hesitation. They were very welcoming, warm and educational as we asked a ton of questions as this was our first cat. I want to thank both of them as they made this a great interaction and experience. This a petty post because I have only been to this location once for a grooming service. However, First impression was not good. Was charged a handling fee because the groomer claimed my miniature golden doodled bit them. My dog is about a year old and it weirdly well behaved not because of my training or anyone else's just came that way. I really find it hard to believe that she bit anyone. When asking the guy who helped me where she bit the groomer they could not say. Anyway, I think if this store would like more money, they should just charge more for their services instead of lying about getting bitten by a dog to tack on an extra fee. read more

This review is purely for the grooming services. I took my dog in to get a bath/nails clipped and my dog is very sweet/easy to manage. I honestly think some of these groomers have zero experience with grooming or with dogs...or people at all for that matter. They were extremely rude from beginning to end for absolutely no reason besides maybe they hate their jobs I guess? The main problem is that when I picked my dog up after her bath she literally smelled like straight up poop. I spent $40 for her to get a bath and smell like poop afterwords. The groomer just muttered "oh yeah she pooped while I was clipping her nails, and I tried to wash it off". GIRL. She 100% did not wash off her paws at all because there was poop dried all throughout her paws. Im sorry my dog pooped, but there should be some better protocol about how to handle that (such as washing her feet right after so the poop doesn't dry). Anyways, I had to take her home and give her another bath. It may be cheaper and easier to make an appointment here but do yourself a favor and go to an actual professional groomer. read more

Pet grooming beware!!! They do not know how to handle animals that respond differently to drying treatments. We have a 11 year old lab, and everyone knows labs are the least aggressive dogs of nearly all breeds! This incompetent associate named Nikki called me to ask about "my aggressive lab" Who I scheduled grooming for. Mind you I have been taking my lab to this location for 4 years and never once have we been told he is aggressive in way! He started to get real dry skin after baths and our vet suggested we only towel dry him, so the last 5 or 6 visits he's been to this groomer they have towel dried him and we have not had any issues up until now. Nikki then asked me if I would like to pick up my dog wet, I responded with "is this a serious question?" And she said yes since he is aggressive with the blow dryer. To which I replied he's been towel dried the last several times he's been there. I then get a call from the store manager informing me that they cannot take my dog due to his aggressiveness. No it's due to your groomers incompetence. Not my dog. Nikki really needs to use her brain better & learn to ask smarter questions. Don't give your money to this worthless chain any longer! Spacious, Clean, Organized... Late, late, last minute errand run on a Saturday night just 45 minutes before closing time. It was supposed to be a quick "get in, get out" situation but man this place was huge. This was our first time at this location, and we were just in awe with the size. From the outer appearance, this place did not look that big. Our goal was to only get 4 items, but we left spending almost $500 on other items that was not on the list... It was clean, organized, and spacious. The aisles were quite spacious, the items on the shelves were well organized and there was an abundant of things to choose from, on top of that there were many different brands to choose from. Nothing was scattered around aimlessly, from what we saw everything was in the right section, making it easier and faster to get to. Mind you, we went 45 minutes before closing but we did not feel rushed in anyway whatsoever. We only saw two employees working at the time, I did not catch her name and it was not on the receipt, but her customer service was affable. She was welcoming, attentive, patient, and overall exceptional. On todays date 6/9/23 to whoever was working the cashier at 5pm literally has the worst customer service, everyone else is pretty good and nice but this one here was the worst. She didn't greet with a hi or anything didn't ask for my rewards number like every cashier I run into there. As she's bagging my items she's just tossing the can of pet food into my bag and when all said and done she hands me my receipt and didn't have say thank you. Literally the worst interaction with anyone I've had and she didn't even have to say a word. As is the case with all PetSmart's, this location has pretty much everything you need for all of your pet shopping and pet supply needs. All Petsmart's are pretty much the same and this location is no different. The staff here is all very nice, friendly, and helpful. So, you will be able to get everything you need with as little problem as possible. Located in a large shopping plaza next to Home Depot, there is always plenty of parking. There is a large parking lot right off of Cherry Avenue so you should have no problem finding parking, getting into the store, and leaving with minimal effort. When greeted by the groomer (girl with blue hair), the young lady was very flat. I didn't pay it much mind. The groomer did inform me that my dog was matted and would be cut low. I agreed to move forward with the cut because thats usually what her original groomer does. However, my dog has the worst cut I have ever seen in my life, let alone from a professional. I understand she had to be cut low, but this was just downright tasteless and lazy. Her cut was not given any thought or EFFORT. There isn't any shape or length, not even around the ears. The haircut lacks integrity. I have a cockapoo not a chihuahua, and this is just heart breaking. To be frank--my dog looks like a rat. I feel as though the cut was careless, negligent, and rushed. THIS PLACE LACKS SKILL AND VISION. This is the worst service I have ever experienced from Petsmart. I am in awe. Totally upset and disappointed. It pains me to even look at my dog. Poor service. And I am usually not one to complain. I will never bring my dog to any Petsmart location again. There is never a time when we come that we aren't satisfied with our grooming appointment for our dogs Sawyer and Marilyn. Not only do our dogs feel good and look great but they smell amazing. I would most definitely recommend this Petsmart to anyone besides family and friends. Not only will you love their services your pet will love them too.
