I have no clue why I haven't post my review as of today. In fact I should have don't it many years ago (before Yelp was born). I discovered Pets Lovers Animal Clinic back in 2002 when they were located at Bird Road, back them I had a dog named Terrific that I brought from Cuba. On September 28th 2003 he ate a frog and was dying, I call Jorge De Cabo late at night and he opened the clinic to take care of Terrific, around midnight he was doing well... The cost was only $100! Today I keep on using Pets Lover with my new dog Lucky. Everybody at this clinic treats me like a family and I have seeing this towards every client. 14 years after I met Jorge I can consider him a friend, we have a great relationships and I assure you he will always do what's best for your pet, regardless of cost or taking shortcuts. My last visit Pet Lover! We lost 2 beautiful dogs in 6 month. In January renal failure we never knew the cause but the Doctor monitored his referral 24 hours after we left the clinic and he was very concern. Recently his brother started with anti-seizure treatment 72 hours later I called asking for Dr Campos return my phone call due severe side effect happened in my dog but she never call me back. She was informed? or not? or she did not care? In multiples visit I share with my wife the "hungry for money". My dog was discharge under the sedation effect and they decided go out from the back area under hot almost 100 F grades ?? why? never happened before. Honestly a lot of very young people probably in training without experience handle with pets sick. Dr De Cabo we miss you a lot but many things are wrong in your facility if you still been owner do not be blind!! read more

This location was recommended but once I went on Yelp and it came up, I gave them a call. The receptionist was bilingual and it worked out for me. She was professional & advised me that I can do a walk in & that there was (4) walk in's currently waiting. I arrived approx 15 mins later. Large waiting room but chairs are close to each other. (4) receptionist waiting to assist. Love that. I was called to the back room 1 hour & 10 mins later. Prices for service are affordable & comes with lots of patience. Next time I'll make an appt. The Dr Natasha was nice & so was the technician & they informed me of the process & what was going on. Since I was waiting for results I was told to go to the waiting room. Smooth process. read more

Pet lovers? More like pet KILLERS. Vets here have no clue what they're doing. They don't know how to read an x-ray or test results. One vet said my dog had lung cancer, 2 visits later another vet said my dog had healthy lungs? Please do not let these people do any type of surgery on your dog. They were pumping my dog with so many tranquilizers and so much anesthesia they caused him kidney failure. They don't know how to properly clean surgery wounds either. When I took my dog to another vet, who actually knew what he was doing, it was too late. These people killed my dog. read more

I've been taking my pets to Pet lovers for over 15 years, and both Dr Cabo and Dr Campos have been excellent in treating them. today my husband had to take Emily because we got a new puppy and stayed home to keep an eye, she's a beagle and a handful. I was amazed at how upset my husband was when he got home. As per what he experienced, it seems the clinic has been sold and things have changed but not for the better. I called to voice my concerns to the receptionist and she mentioned that Dr campos is still there, but my husband didn't request a specific Dr, something we had never done since they were all very competent. I was also told the entire staff is bilingual, but no one spoke English to my husband while he was there. it's with great sadness that I will stop using them, but grateful that they took such good care of my girls over the years. read more

This place does not care about ur pet. All they want to do is take ur money. I took my very elderly dog there and the only thing the could do was charge me and offer my dog a surgery. Mind you she's 13 and weighs 5 pounds, if I go that route she will probably won't make it. Not a single medication or recommendation on how to proceed. Just thank full for this place!! During this COVID-18 craziness my cat got a rash around her mouth and I got horribly worried, I calles almost in desperation and the staff here was super nice in getting me an appointment for the same day and helping me with everything she needed. The vets were very knowledgeable and did a full exam on her and explained everything to me, even teaching me how to apply the medication. Also is very affordable, I think only $20 for the general consultation. Good news she's all recovered now and waking me up at 5am for no reason like a good cat!! read more

However he had an allergic reaction to an insect bite (vet said) and was given pills to make it better. The pills worked and he was better till about 3 months pass and the same issue comes back. Instead of taking time to figure out what was wrong, they prescribed the same pills and shooed us out to get it the next customer. Except, they were in such a rush to make money, we were given pills for ANOTHER DOG which gave my healthy boy diarrhea with blood and vomiting for two days. They could have killed my dog... When I called customer service, there was no apology and no effort to make things better. So after two years of coming to Pet Lovers, I'll have to look for a new vet. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time coming here. The front desk girls do not care about your time or presence at all. Just sign in to the lengthy list and wait to be called in 30 minutes just to check you in. I came in for a medication my dog needed and they made me wait a list, that they were calling from every 10 minutes. I had 5 people ahead of me complaining that they had not been called yet. Imagine waiting an hour to pick up a medication your dog needs. Never coming here again. I made the change a while ago to the other pet lovers clinic where Dr. Reinaldo attends which is one of the best vets I have ever met and the staff in that location is actually very educated, patient and welcoming. Completely different experience from the staff in this location that just seems to view you as dollar signs. read more

I've been coming here for about 12 years and it was wonderful when Cabo was running the place. They expanded, opened a second location and the service has continually deteriorated since then. Appointments are absolutely worthless with wait times of 90 minutes or more. Front staff and cashiers are mostly rude and uncaring. They talk bad about customers and can be overheard in the waiting area. The upselling of lab tests, ear wash, vitamins, etc. is annoying. This past week we had an appt and my husband had to wait 2 hours for our dog to be seen. He came home angry and refused to ever return so I am now searching for a new vet. read more

I'm going to be completely honest. I was terrified to bring my Molly here to get spayed. I had read so many mixed reviews, I didn't know what to think. No matter where you go, someone is always going to find the negative and disagree with you. I had a great experience with them. I went to the pet lovers on NW 7th The girls in the front were absolutely so great and understood my nerves being a first time pet owner. I've had family pets in the past, but this one is all me. I'm making all the medical decisions. Dr. Natasha called us in and explained the entire process and answered all my questions. She could see my anxiety from a mile away and reassured me, that Molly was going to do great and I'd be back home with her in no time. At check out , Yoelys explained all Molly's post care meds and told me if I had any other questions that I remembered later I was able to call. At Molly's pick up, she reexplained everything about her medication again making sure I got it. To me that's quality care. Molly is currently at home resting and we go back in two weeks to get her stitches out. read more

Pet Lovers? more like Pet Killers. What started off as a simple surgery for a mass on my dog's leg turned out to be a 2 month nightmare. To start, the wait time here is the least of your worries. The first surgery went well, his leg was healing, everything seemed like it was trending the right way, the first vet recommended that a biopsy wouldn't be needed because he felt it wasn't cancerous, but things started to change the day his stitches needed to be taken out. My dog was returned to me as if the stitches had been pulled with no care, his wound looked completely reopened, and they gave him back to me like that. The moment i got home my dog started throwing up multiple times, to the point i had to return, they had to restitch the wound, back to square one. I would take him almost daily to "clean his wound" but nothing seemed to get better. His mass started to reform as time went on. Every vet told me something different, one went as far as to say he might have cancer in his lungs, so i paid $500 just to be told he didnt. When i asked the other vet if she saw anything in his lungs she said no he is healthy. They dont communicate between each other, and are ready to charge you after these 2 minute consultations. This is when i started to become skeptical of this place i had trusted for so many years. The reviews about it being only about the money, and your pet is just a number is the truth. 2 months in the mass is back, but now there are a few more. My fear and stress only grew, i was told during my last visit there they had to amputate my dogs leg, we asked if we can just get a sample of the mass to send for a biopsy before we make a decision like that. I should've walked away that day but they made me feel as if my dog wouldn't make it if i didn't make a decision on the spot. Not only did they reopen the original wound they cut more, when i saw my dog after that second surgery i knew this was the last time id ever step here. He looked mutilated, like if someone who didnt know how to do surgeries cut open my dog, he was bleeding non stop that night, puddles of blood, they had stitched a gauze to his skin to "hold it up". I took him one last time to change his bandages and clean him because it was not normal the way he looked and the amount of blood that spewed. I ended up going to another vet, where they told me my dog was having kidney failure, and that his leg looked so bad they have no choice but to amputate it, a day more and he would've died. Pet Killers abused my dog, they deemed him "aggressive" and would sedate him any chance they got, they even medicated him without my consent, they prescribed him so much medicine to patch up the mess they made, my dog was suffering. Now i realize why he was so scared every time i walked in there. When they would "clean" his wound they would just apply some liquid and wipe him down and let him go. At the other vet, i saw what a real cleaning was, they showed my dog real love and real care. They did more for him in 2 weeks than Pet Killers in 2 months. He had gone through too much, his body couldnt take it anymore and he passed away December 14 2023... i couldnt be with him in his last day after 12 years because he was on 24 hour watch in the new vet after they had to amputate the mess PL made, Pet Killers took that moment away from me. I regret ever going back there, please do yourself and your pet a favor and go anywhere else. Dont let them charge you these prices, make you feel like just another number, all they do is drug your dog and butcher them. R.I.P Wiz, missing you always read more

This use to be my primary vet clinic for my elderly dog until they started charging $20 per paper copy of prescription or to be filled by an online pharmacy. My dog has to take 3 different types of medications and this clinic is charging $60 just for them to authorize Chewy the approval of the medications. Shouldn't we have a right to get our pet's medicine elsewhere during these hard times? That's like going to your primary doctor and they charge you a $20 fee just to give you a written prescription and also authorize the meds to your local pharmacy, in which the pharmacy charges you for the actual medication.. whaaaat is that? read more

I had the worst experience today in Pet Lover Animal Clinic. I took my dog for an allergy and tests and in return due to staff negligence they plucked him a nail (rear left paw). Dr. Adriana Campos hurry to explain that my dog have had and accident (very difficult to hide) and my dog was patched and let him go with out any antibiotic or pain killer. They speed up as many pets so they do not put attention and this kind of "accidents" happen. NO EXCUSES please, I don't want to receive my dog in worst condition than when I bring him in. I came in with my dog having anal gland issues and they asked me what symptoms was she feeling and I expressed to them she has vomited but other than that, I don't see a lot of symptoms other than her being glossy all the time and having a fishy smell to it. I fell for the first time because I thought she was in good care, but the second time I went which was two weeks after they ran test on her, to run the same test, and I told the lady at the counter that her test should still be valid given the fact that it hasn't even been a month since she was last year and the receptionist just said don't pay it just pay. In which I told her I could care less about what I have to pay I just need the doctor to know what the fuck he's doing because I came here for her anus not her for her fucking vomiting. i'm not wasting my time here. I discovered this used to be gem about 15 years ago. At that time they had a small clinic which was a little run down but I remember being super surprised by how affordable they were. The best pet was that the treatment worked. I had shown up at this place with a street cat my grandpa used to feed. It had some mange like thing going and was losing its hair. The vet gave it a shot and gave me some pills and instructions, 75 bucks or so and 3 weeks later and the cat had recovered. I was incredible surprised and sang this places praises for years. Walked in there recently to get some heart worm pills for my dog and make an appointment to bring her in for the shots she needs annually, rabies and what not. The place has expanded like crazy and is now probably 3-4 times the size of what they used to be. The girl behind the counter tells me that I'm 12 days late on the heart worm pills and that I gotta bring her in to do some tests. I could be wrong but I think they've outgrown that small vet clinic that I found so many years ago. I feel like the animals isn't as important as the money grab at this place anymore. I rather go to a pet clinic/business where I am appreciated. I called the manager Johan. I informed him of the behavior of the front desk. Not once apologized on her behalf.
