Elizabeth was able to accommodate and have a vet come by early the next day. Dawn was nothing short of wonderful! She was gracious, compassionate and so, so gentle with our beloved Daewoo. Thank you so much Elizabeth and Dawn for being so wonderful! We are truly eternally grateful!!!

She had been…read moreperfectly healthy her entire life, and about two weeks ago she started acting really lethargic. After days of vet visits, we found out she had a tumor on her spleen, blood had leaked into her abdomen, and cancer had spread all throughout her organs. The vet said there was nothing they could do and that she needed to be put down. My husband and I had had her since she was 6 weeks old and we did everything with her and her little black lab sister (hiking, camping, dog beach, etc.). We expected to have several more years with her and were completely and utterly devastated that we had to put her down. Tranquil Tails went above and beyond. The doctor and the technician arrived at our house and immediately got down on the ground with us and pet our dog and spoke to her with such kindness and love. They were so soft spoken and gently explained the process to us. After sedating her, we were given time alone to say our goodbyes. After she passed, they discreetly covered her up and took her to their car on a gurney. They gave me a hug and sincerely told me how sorry they were for our loss. A week and a half later, a nice young woman hand delivered a very nice box to our home filled with our dog's ashes, a clay paw print, fur clippings, a nose prints and a nice letter. They made such a difficult and heartbreaking experience easier and I could not be more grateful to them for the love and care they provided.

Eventually she started having seizures and cognitive decline. Friday night she couldn't walk after a seizure. I looked for less expensive options but 2 weeks out was too long for Lola. So, I reached out to Tranquil Tails and they responded within an hour and scheduled us for the next day. I unfortunately didn't make note of their names, but they quietly knocked on our door as my family sat around feeding Lola some whip cream and chocolate. They came in and calmly explained what was going to happen and lengths of time. After they gave her the sedative they walked away for 10 minutes to give us our last moments with her. Moments after the last medication was provided, she was at peace. We are so thankful we found Tranquil Tails to provide such a calming experience for Lola and our family. And the price, well worth the amount of peace to say goodbye to Lola in our own home on our own terms.

My 14 year old boy was suffering from organ failure from a quick and aggressive cancer. And though we tried to save him, it all happened so quick and we unfortunately had to make the call to give him peace. The quickness of everything left me scrambling to find a vet that could come the next day. I knew I wanted my boy to pass on his favorite couch surrounded by family, and luckily this wonderful company had an opening for the following day. Dr. Daniel explained how everything would happen and I could tell he went peacefully. The only discomfort he had was the sedation shot which Dr. Daniel explained would sting just a little bit. I did not end up going with this service, but I felt it was necessary for me to write about what I was told on the phone call, and how I was addressed. I was already struggling with the decision. My 11.5 year old pup suddenly came down with pericardial effusion with a very poor, and short-lived prognosis. I had to make my decision with only a couple of days to research. When I called this place, it was around 4:00pm. I don't remember who was on the phone, but the woman who picked up made me feel like I shouldn't have been calling or that I was interrupting something. I get that we all have bad days in customer service jobs, and maybe this was just a bad day for this person. It was, however, one of the worst days of my life, and I still tried to be kind and reiterate my answers to her questions. I asked about specific verbiage on the website and to clarify what it meant, and I was met with something like "It is exactly as described on the website, did you re-read it?" and I was immediately taken aback. I was trying to get information on pricing, and how the procedure might go since my dog's physical condition was sensitive and fragile. She told me that if I was this concerned I should be going to an actual veterinary office to inquire, but that their veterinarians are very qualified to perform the procedure. Everything felt oddly defensive. I was having a hard time keeping my tears away during the call, and she kept telling me she couldn't understand me when I asked for a moment. Then, she told me if I wanted the doctor to come to my house right now, she'd need to charge me an insane extra fee. I understand after-hours fees, but we hadn't even gotten to appointment scheduling yet. I asked if I could think about it and get back to her, and she said yes, but I she would only hold my appointment slot for 30 minutes for the following morning if I wanted to do that. And, if she didn't hear back in 30 minutes. I'd have to call and reschedule a different day because the doctors are "very very busy". I felt like I was being rushed along without receiving much comfort or consultation, this is the first time I've ever sought-out an at-home pet euthanasia, so I was hoping for some guidance. Overall, this felt extremely callous, and I am so glad I went with a different service who made me feel cared for and were very accommodating and professional. The other service also fully articulates the fees they charge on their website with no hidden fees. Hard pass on this place; I see all these 5-star reviews, so hopefully my experience was just an anomaly.

Being at home (or wherever you are) keeps them comfortable, calm, and surrounded by the people who love them most. When we were traveling in our RV, we used St. Francis In-Home Pet Hospice (Coachella, CA) , and it was such a peaceful and loving experience. They treated our sweet Harley Girl with so much dignity and compassion, and gave us the time and space to say goodbye the right way. Dr. Gilabert & her assistant allocated 2 hours and they were so amazing. Whenever that difficult time comes again, we will absolutely pray to find another mobile vet to guide us through the same gentle process. Recently, we had to help our almost 18-year-old dachshund, Dodger, cross the Rainbow Bridge. He had been with me since I was a teenager, so we truly grew up together. He wasn't just a dog. He was family. As the last of our five-dachshund dynasty, saying goodbye marked the end of an era for our family. We were there the day he was born, and nearly two decades later, it felt like such a full-circle moment to surround him with that same love as we helped him peacefully cross the Rainbow Bridge. From my very first phone call, I knew we were in the right hands. In full transparency, I wasn't my best self when Don answered, as I had been dreading making that call. Yet he met me with nothing but patience, kindness, and compassion. He answered every question without ever making me feel rushed and quickly replaced my fear with peace. His care didn't stop there. On the day of our appointment, he kept me updated on when to expect Dr. Nicole, checked in afterward, notified our primary veterinarian of Dodger's passing, and handled every detail with incredible thoughtfulness. He truly provided a white-glove experience, allowing us to focus entirely on loving Dodger instead of managing the logistics. The handwritten note we received afterward meant more to our family than he'll probably ever know. Dr. Nicole gave our family the most beautiful gift: a peaceful, love-filled goodbye at home. From the moment she arrived, her expertise and emotional intelligence were evident. She took the time to get to know Dodger and our family before anything else, allowing what could have felt like a heartbreaking appointment to instead become a meaningful celebration of his life. She thoughtfully explained every step, intuitively meeting each of us exactly where we were in our grief. She somehow knew when to speak, when to sit quietly, when to gently guide us, and when to give us space. She made sure each member of our family was truly ready before moving forward, honoring that everyone grieves differently. What impressed me most was that she never allowed the experience to feel clinical. Every detail was handled with remarkable tenderness and intention. Even something as routine as placing Dodger's catheter was done so thoughtfully and discreetly that our focus remained entirely on loving him instead of the medical process. Afterward, she lovingly swaddled him with such care and respect that it felt like she was caring for one of her own. Every interaction reflected dignity, compassion, and genuine love. As heartbreaking as that day was, Dr. Nicole gave us the incredible gift of peace, allowing us to be fully present with Dodger in his final moments and leaving us with the comfort of knowing we had given him the beautiful goodbye he deserved. Thank you, Dr. Nicole, Don, and the Serene Passages team for treating not only Dodger, but our entire family, with such dignity, compassion, and love.
