Our Bella had only been at Pet Paradise once before, but as soon as we drove up, she knew where she was and could not wait to get out of the car. Bella is extremely close to us and acts like we were apart for weeks when it was only a few hours, but she was really happy to go into the front door. My typically happy, energetic dog came home very ill and seemingly sad after just one day of boarding. She had diarrhea, vomited multiple times, and was clearly stressed. The lack of communication and care was disappointing. I will not recommend PetParadise. read more

If we could zero stars we would. We booked our cat for the weekend of Dec 20-23 back in July. We paid the deposit, etc at that point. Today, the day before we depart, they tell us they can't board her because she's overdue for a vaccine. They should have advised us at booking that we'd need to get that current, not wait until its too late. We will definitely not recommend this location to anyone. Very poor management. read more

Nope, nope, nope, nope. We've taken our pups here on multiple occasions and all of a sudden we noticed a pattern. Pups come back with bowel issues, our male dog poops everywhere as if he's backed up and hasn't been let out for a week. Come to find out.... That's what's been going on. There's no outside play area so they're not taken outside to go to the bathroom. So they're expected to go to the bathroom in the same area where they sleep and play! Over Christmas last year, our female came back and her tongue was raw. Pet Paradise said they had a great time, no issues. We call the vet side (we love them, they're not connected in any way other than sharing the facility) and they talked to the Pet Paradise side. Apparently our female was so anxious she was licking the concrete until her tongue was so raw, multiple layers of skin sluffed off. Why that wasn't mentioned to us at the time of check out or when I called to see when they'd be on the cameras during their stay, your guess is as good as mine. You would expect for the price you're paying that the dogs would actually get to go potty, but apparently that's too much to expect from these people. Also- don't try to ask when your dog is going to be on the camera during play time, they don't know and will avoid the question. read more

I've been mulling over posting this review for a week now but I decided that I should do other dog owners don't put their dog through what mine went through. I took my dog (a 35lb spaniel) for her get aquatinted day. They told her since she was over the weight limit for the small dogs (30lb Max) she's be in with the big dogs. Fine with me, she plays with mostly big dogs anyway. I had a morning meeting but turned on the cameras at 11am and didn't see my dog the rest of the day, so I decided to pick her up at 4 a little worried something had happened. When I got there they got my dog for me and tried to send me on my way. I didn't want to be a Karen but I asked about why my dog hadn't been included in any playtime all afternoon, worried something had happened. They told me my dog was a total sweetheart, but a few of the regular dogs that were twice her size were obsessed with her and wouldn't leave her alone so they put my dog back in her room for her safety. They punished my dog for other dogs' mean behavior rather than actually deal with the problem. So basically, according to multiple employees, my dog didn't do anything wrong but was the one punished. Other dogs were being aggressive towards her, yet my dog was the one forced in a kennel for 6 hours. I asked why they didn't call me or take her out for some solo play or move her with the small dogs. No answers. As soon as I got outside my dog peed way more than normal, leading me to believe she hadn't even been given a potty break since that morning which is completely unacceptable and totally defeats the purpose of paying for a day care service. What happened to my dog was basically neglect, and I still don't feel like they were completely honest with me. I took my dog to a meet up later and my normally outgoing, sweet, social dog clung to me the whole time and didn't want to play, which leads me to believe the regular dogs did something worse than just act "obsessive". They did offer me another day to make up for it; but I honestly don't know why they would expect me to go back to the one daycare that's ever been an issue. I don't trust them to take good care of my dog, and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody I liked either. read more

Horrible experience, I have used this company in Wilmington and have had nothing but a positive experience. My dog was laying in his own pee pretty much all weekend. I have never in 10 years had such a bad experience. Although they have cameras they apparently don't expect you to watch them. I was lied to about how much play time he received and the staff has a horrible attitude. I do not at all recommend this location until they start to hire the correct people. I'm not sure how long they were out playing, how long they are kept in kennels, etc. They came home absolutely exhausted so I'm content! I'm happy they got the chance to play in the pool since they came home with wet fur. When they were picked up and back in the car, one of my pups tried to run out to go back inside! Clearly, he loved being there! We had an awful experience with Camp Bow Wow so we were scared about trying out a new place. Now we are happy our boys have a new place (Pet Paradise) to call home! This review is specifically about the veterinary care and veterinary team at Pet Paradise in Cary. My senior pups (Brownie and Rosie) had an appointment for check-ups and bloodwork. We actually changed vet hospitals to follow our favorite veterinarian who is now the lead veterinarian at Pet Paradise. First let me say that Pet Paradise couldn't have a better veterinarian, our pup Brownie has been seeing Dr. Silva since 2018... and she has taken such good care of him. He's still with us because of her! The day we brought Brownie and Rosie (our new senior adoptee) in, we got to meet the rest of the veterinary team and they were wonderful, so loving and caring towards Brownie and Rosie! I generally have anxiety about leaving my pups at the vet (or having them go into the "back room") but I feel nothing but comfort with this team. If your pet has been to Pet Paradise for stays or plays but you haven't yet considered the veterinary services there... this is me suggesting that you book an appointment for your pups next needed vet visit :) Also, can I just say that with senior dogs it can be a little stressful leaving them for boarding and grooming... (especially one with a heart condition) but knowing that there is this awesome vet team in the same location puts me at ease. They truly care about animals and that's so important. Also, we got our pups post-vet visit doggy ice cream that they got to eat outside on the doggy turf while we sat on a nice bench in the sun. I don't think they've ever been so pleased after a vet visit. Pricing for services is transparent and fair, and they work through a pharmacy that delivers your meds to your door - they will send your prescription to your email and you just need to accept/pay and they will be delivered! Separately, the actual location is awesome. I got to see the play areas, VIP rooms, regular rooms, cat condos... it made me want to go play there (and my husband want to work there - hah!). We were there around 10 AM and the dogs in the play areas (including "tiny town" for the small pups) were having a blast. I even added the local Pet Paradise Cary on instagram so that I could look at happy dogs playing all day on their instagram stories. The day we went the pool was still being treated to be safe for pups, but it's fully operational now I believe, they even have life jackets for the little dogs that want to test out the pool! TLDR: PP Cary did not monitor our dog for infection or tell us of the severity of her injuries while boarding. We debated making this post and wanted to give Pet Paradise Cary (PP Cary) an opportunity to try to make it better, but they've made it clear that they will not. We are long-time day camp and boarding customers and we generally enjoyed our time there. However, after our dog's recent boarding stay we cannot trust them or recommend them ever again. We received a call in the evening on Friday 2/24/23 notifying us that our dog had torn back part of her paw pad. We understand that can happen sometimes and allowed the vet to trim it. The PP Cary team assured us that she didn't seem to be in any pain and was in good spirits. The vet also told us that it would heal on its own. After that, we appreciated daily check-ins in which they told us that her paw was a bit tender during Saturday play time (2/25) so they were going to keep her dry and in her room the next day (2/26), but she generally seemed fine and the vet/team was keeping an eye on her. We made the decision to have a family member pick her up the next day (2/27) and the PP Cary team allowed her to participate in play group before her go home bath. Supposedly, the vet saw her that day and we expected to come home to a sleepy dog with a tender paw. Instead, a few hours after she was picked up we came home to an incredibly lethargic dog who was in so much pain from her actively bleeding paw that she could barely walk, a huge bleeding sore on her arm, and a bloody mark on her lip where she was likely bit by another dog. We took her to our own vet as soon as possible the next morning where we learned that her paw, arm, and lip were all infected. She had also torn other paw pads that were infected as well. Our vet theorized that her arm wound was the result of her spending so much time laying on the wet cement after her paw injury. Each wound had to be shaved, cleaned, and treated while she was held down by multiple vet staff. This was then followed by days of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain medication. At no time did PP Cary notify us that she was in so much pain she could barely walk or of the injuries to her arm or lip. The PP Cary vet also did not prescribe any antibiotics or monitor her properly for infection. PP Cary is refusing to take any responsibility and we are incredibly disappointed. We will never take our dog there ever again and we cannot recommend them to anyone else. read more

I picked up my dog today and she is covered in pee and shaking. The pee is dry so I can tell they just left her sitting in it. I'm mortified. Given that i paid a decent amount of money and trusted them with her I feel betrayed. I don't know if it's a short staffing issues but I don't know why giving me my dog back covered in pee is looked at as ok. read more

We took our two labs to the Cary Pet paradise location today. When we dropped them off we were told that they would be out for an hour (either pool or play yard) and then rest for an hour. By the time we got home, it was 10 AM and we immediately tuned in to their webcams. We watched all webcams diligently from 10 AM to 12:30, and almost the entire time, they were all empty. We decided to call the Cary location out of concern but no one answered the phone and we were directed to voicemail (again, frustrating). Finally, someone answered. When I asked if everything was ok because we have seen our dogs out all day, we were instructed that they were in the pool this morning. We were also told that during their "get acquaintance" visit, they were not guaranteed the four hours playtime. Were we not told this when booking the appointment. I told them that I did not want our dogs locked up all day and I would come to pick them up. Once there, the woman at the front desk told me the same story, "they were in the pool early that morning." She also told me that they were in play area 2 for three hours. We watched all webcams all morning, and I told her that was not true. (does she not realize there are cameras in all room). Once I confronted her, she then stated that the dogs are not guaranteed 3 hours of playtime. I asked which is it, they were out for 3 hours as you stated, or they were not because they weren't guaranteed the time. Caught in a lie, she then went silent and refused to acknowledge my presence. When a gentleman brought out our dogs, I asked him about the morning. He stated that the dogs were at the pool earlier, and nothing about 3 additional hours of playtime. In fact, we gave me a report card saying that our male English Lab jumped in the pool, and our female American lab waded in the pool. English labs have a double coat and they are wet for hours and hours after being in the water. In fact, when they come home from their grooming sessions he still has a wet undercoat after being blown dry. Both of our dogs and their collars were completely dry, so we suspect they lied about being in the pool as well. So, if you want a place to lock your dog up for a half-day, or day, with little to no playtime, Cary Pet Paradise has you covered. If you are like us, and you love your pets, run away as fast as you can. Also, the attitude of the staff is unbelievable. Not one person apologized. Not one person assumed responsibility for locking our dogs in cages the entire time. Instead, they lied about being in the pool and time in the playroom(s). When I said I will pick up our pets because I did not want them locked up the response was, "That's your choice, we'll see you when you get here." Folks, this is a new business to our community. But their practices, lying, lack of customer service, and apparent attitude are not acceptable. Please think twice before dropping off your pets at this establishment. Find a better way to spend your money and treat your cats and dogs. This is a big bummer. We have been seeing their ads on social media and we had high hope for Pet Paradise. Today those hopes were squashed. We will NOT be returning and I hope this review helps you make an informed decision. read more

I have not tried the boarding facilities here but chose to try their vet practice because of such good customer service for boarding and all prior experiences at the Charolette location... Once we arrived to our appointment at the Cary location the vet techs were a little less than helpful and compassionate a bit closed minded about the information I was giving them. (Like I'm just a "dumb dog owner" and not a vet tech or vet so I have "no idea what I'm talking about" is the attitude one specific one gave me) but Dr. Silva was very nice, and was open to trying different methods of treatment for accommodation. Dr. Silva and I worked together to find the best route of action for me and my pup which I greatly appreciate. But after having my needs met with Dr. Silva once again a vet tech came in to wrap things up and this time had a smart remark. Dr. Silva had stated that my dog could have had 2-3 possible diagnoses but wasn't able to narrow it down just yet. When the vet tech returned I let her know that I think that one of the options the vet mentioned sounds very likely due to my dogs personality as well as medical history. The vet tech then told me "that doesn't cause those symptoms" but yet the vet and I had just had an entire conversation about my dogs symptoms and how it could align with that diagnosis and plan of action addressing this diagnosis. After the smart remark I said nothing else and left with my treatment. Almost a week later and he is doing much better and it was in fact the exact diagnosis I thought it was! :) Overall it was a successful experience with Dr. Silva, she was very nice and helpful and healed my pup. But the vet tech was very demeaning and degrading even though her professional opinion which was wrong and also not in line with her head doctor (Dr. Silva) who she should be offering medical support to as an assistant (because that is her roll) not arguing about diagnosis when patients have already been diagnosed by Dr. Silva. read more

Each time our pet goes, there is an associated cost for something that has nothing to do with why the pet is being sent in. We were kind of worried at first being we moved from Texas to this area and we tried PetSmart Pet Hotel and they were so horrible to our little Outlaw. So my husband booked with Pet Paradise and OMG when I tell you that Outlaw had the time of his life I mean it. He loved playing with the other dogs in Tiny Town and getting all the loving he can get from the staff. The staff was nice and friendly and of course amazing with us even when we kept calling to check on him and watching the camera nonstop. We will definitely be bringing Outlaw back again. They do not take the dogs outside and so they are forced to go in their suites or hold it all day. They get to play for maybe 45 minutes all day. I have seen where my dog only played for 2 15 minute periods. This is unacceptable and is not what they advertise. read more

Staff was amazing prices are reasonable. As a new pet owner I was very thankful for the cameras to check in on my cat whenever I got worried. They give the cats time to walk around so that they're not stuck in a cage all day which I liked. They were very understanding when it came to giving meds to my cat. The last FOUR times I have tried to take my dog to get groomed they have waited until I get there to come up with an excuse not to groom her. They only let you drop you dog off for grooming at 8:30am. I have work and have to schedule around it. the last four times I have tried to take my pup they have waited until I got there to tell me they couldn't and we had to reschedule. They also don't call ahead or send an email if they cancel. So I have to call off of work to only get there and them tell me that they have canceled the appointment or because I am missing a piece of paper that I didn't know I needed to bring in. Vet saw my puppy for 5 minutes and barely tried with him. My puppy is anxious and it was his second time here. I didn't feel the patience from the vet so I do not recommend this place this is my first puppy and I wanted a place where they actually try not just sees him for 5 minutes and is pricy for something that wasn't thorough. We set up a "get acquainted" appointment for our two dogs, they were scheduled to do so from 8am-1pm. Our dogs have been to other doggie daycares in the past so we are familiar with structure of temperament tests. That being said, 30 minutes after dropping them off I decide to check the webcams to see how they were getting along. To my surprise I see all "play yards" empty. I check back a couple more times from 8:20 until 11 and during that time only one play yard has dogs that they are circling out. These dogs appear to me in the play area for five minutes and then they go back into the kennel. My dogs never once get play time, they sit in the kennel for three hours straight before I go scoop them up. When I asked the manager what was going on he told me " play groups don't start till 9 am"- no one ever told us this nor is this on the website or pamphlets. So if you bring your dog there anytime before 9 they will absolutely be in a kennel. And he also said that " as denoted on the pamphlet your dog is only guaranteed four hours of play time" which is not mentioned on the website nor was discussed when we called and made the appointment. If I send my dogs to doggie daycare for a whole or even half day of doggie daycare than I fully expect they will be playing and socializing the whole time they are there minus maybe breaks to eat or if they need space for 10-15 minutes. I would never think they would be limited to four hours and that if I wanted them to play more I would have to pay extra money. This is the case for boarding too, you have to pay extra for daycare otherwise they are automatically only getting four hours of play. If your looking for your dog to get exercise,expound some energy and socialize this isn't the place. Your dog will spend most of their time in a kennel for "rest". As a side note, when I addressed these concerns and just asked for some clarity on procedures, the general manager was unapologetic and defensive and then just resorted to being silent. This speaks volumes in itself. I am aware this is their first week and they need to work out kinks however this is a chain and the general manager has been part of the company for years so that lack of accountability and business model of heavy use of kennels are not something that would likely change. read more

No doubt the people are good and service is also good for grooming, but i feel when we do a half or full day day care for our dog.. we hardly see them in pool for an hr max i feel this place should show us the cameras for what they do with our pets and where do they keep them, i have noticed few times my dog comes home a bit scared.. not sure why, but when see him on webcam playing hes happy so i do sometimes hesitate keeping my pet there, bt we have no choice since this is the only place which is clean and tidy for pets...place is very secure. read more

The vet at Pet Paradise is the sweetest, most caring vet I have ever met in my life. You can actually see the love she has for animals through her work, how she treats them and how thoroughly she checks them. My fiance and I live an hour away, but this vet is totally worth the drive to actually know our pets are getting good care by someone who cares about their well-being. We have a kitten with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, and the vet here was so amazing with her, she took a good 15 minutes checking her legs, spine, jaw, teeth, checking her reflexes and abilities. I tried taking her to capital boulevard animal hospital for dewormer (because they had a "pet plan" that I thought would be affordable and because it was so much closer than pet paradise) and the vet at capital boulevard animal hospital started trying to tell me that our kitten might hav to be euthanized because she has cerebellar hypoplasia which is NOT accurate at all. We chose not to put her or her sister on the pet plan at capital boulevard animal hospital after their vet being clearly unknowledgeable about cerebellar hypoplasia and being extremely heartless and uncaring. We will be making the drive to pet paradise for all of our vet needs in the future. read more

We took Milo for his free day at Pet Paradise, to check it out before we leave him there for overnight boarding in a few weeks. The staff was friendly and responsive, and the dogs appeared to be happy and well cared for. The overnight accommodations were very good, and there were many options. I love this place! I have a very nervous dog and was unsure how he would do. His first time in the pool area lasted only 15 minutes because he was nervous. The staff recognized that he needed a break and tried again later. He did great. I was able to see him on camera several times. He prefers the company of the staff but was fine with the dogs all around him. The staff were always kissing him and petting him to reassure him. I've brought him twice and am very happy with the kindness and care shown my dog. read more
