This was my second time boarding my standard goldendoodle at this pet paradise. First visit she got a terrible hot spot for not minding her after getting her wet. This most recent visit, when I picked her up, she was absolutely covered in deep matting all over. It was so bad she smelled, reeked of mildew like stench. After working hard on her numerous mats, I realized they were localized to her neck and chest in a way that made it clear that her harness was left on for ten days. She was moving slowly and disoriented. I explicitly stated in my reservation that she could not get wet and also added services for brush outs and a bath. Neither of these things were done. When I asked about her bath they said it wasn't ordered which is bullshit bc I can look at my reservation on the app. I'd there was a question of need fucking call me! They claimed to have tried to brush her which is total bullshit. A groomer can brush my dog, but clearly they left it up to the teenagers. I also added one on one play time and if anyone played with my dog they'd have half a brain to know she needed better care. The size of the mats on her neck and chest were devastating. This is an expensive dog and I paid over $600 for her boarding only to receive her in a state that will require her to lose her coat. I am so raging mad at this place but perhaps it is my own fault for trusting a company that hires teenagers and can't make simple phone calls to clarify if the dog needs care or added services. This business is totally checked out and miserable. The check-in process was so lazy that I had to wait to clarify that they had all the info for her care. Clearly, it makes no difference. My dog was neglected and matted to the point of restricted movement, coat loss and a sickly smell. Never again will I board my dog here. read more

We had to suddenly evacuate hurricane Ian and drove to family in west palm. Originally I Called the Vet who happens to be near Pet Paradise Riviera Beach but they board only their clients. Instead they recommended pet paradise ! Clean and zero odors. Our cat was housed in a 4 level tower with litter box at base/ hole up to the bed/ another hole to a 3rd cube and then the top cube. Cubes approx 24" wide x 15-18 " deep x 20" high. 3 walls of these towers in a room approx 18' wide x 14' deep with the front huge glass window on the 4 th wall looking out to the counter-entrance-center of reception. In the large middle area are all types of scratching boards, tunnels and other toys for the cats to enjoy one at a time in their daily stretch time outside of their 4 story 'condo'. Boarding cost $35 a day and they can feed/ or you bring their food toys blankets. They accept dogs too. Saw several very large dogs get picked up. They have three locations too! STAY AWAY!!!!! -- Our boarding experience was a dog owner's worst nightmare. Our dogs were completely neglected during their stay at pet paradise. We dropped them off on Sunday morning and they only got a few hours of playtime (confirmed by them) between Sunday and Thursday. I called multiple times for updates but not once did they call me, not to mention I never got through and had to leave voicemails each time. I called on Tuesday to ask when they went outside as I checked the cameras and never saw them outdoors. They magically appeared outside while I was on the phone and they said, "they happen to be outside right now and by the way, we noticed a small hot spot. We'll monitor but nothing to worry about for now." I called them again Wednesday in the afternoon to discuss their playtime because AGAIN we hadn't seen them outside all day. I didn't ask about the hot spot because they made it seem like it was no big deal. I left a message and when they called back they said her hot spot was so bad she needed to be taken to the emergency vet ASAP. As we were out of town they had to take her to the vet for us where they claimed this was likely a mosquito bite or allergy. Clearly was told by pet paradise to try and claim this was not their fault. We were also told the area would be shaved, which was clearly not the case (photo proof). We picked her up the following morning and took her straight to our own vet who confidently confirmed this was not a mosquito bite or allergy and was baffled that anyone would assume this. Additionally, we had to pay extra to have the area shaved since it was not done the night before. We were sent home with anti-anxiety and pain killers because of how much distress she was in and how much pain she was clearly in. This was in result of the complete negligence of Pet Paradise and them leaving our dogs in the rooms for HOURS. Claiming that the wound progressed quickly. In addition to this, they both chugged THREE bowls of water when we got home. We are in complete disbelief by our experience and would NEVER recommend Pet Paradise to anyone. read more

Everything was great the first time I left my golden doodle there, got a report card and good feedback. I've taken her back two more times. I haven't received report cards since and my dog came back with kennel cough the last time even though they required me to get her vaccinated before allowing her to stay there. I was told because she is legal blind she has one on one but I don't believe it . Pet Paradise is a good option for those who need their Dog watched during the day while they work or travel on Vacation as they provide boarding services. My mother takes her Portuguese Water Dog "Tucker" to the one in Naples and he seemingly enjoys his time there. Always tired when he gets home. Good communication is a must in any relationship and in doing business as well. Did my research, 1st impression, the website and comments looked good except for 2 or 3, the website pictures were great. I was referred, also a plus. I made my reservation 3 weeks in advance, then went for the "Get Acquainted" stay. Walking in to the facility , same great impression, lobby smells terrific and is beautifully decorated with spectacular paintings of different breeds of dogs, you have full view of the lovely a/c'd cat area. You have an open view to the air conditioned play area, and then.... screeching halt.... you aren't allowed to the back area, the area where the dogs are boarded, and spend the most time. Did I mention "not allowed". Me, who is boarding my dog for 4 days, am not allowed to be or SEE, where she will be kept! After complaining, the Manager allows a video to be taken with my phone so that I could see my dog, in her kennel. To be truthful and transparent, please post pictures of the kennels and the kennel area, not just the "pretty" areas for your patrons to see, that would allow them to make an educated decision about leaving their pets there. I couldn't verify for myself if it was air conditioned, note the fan in the picture. The final and most importantly factor for deciding not to board my dog there, she's isn't allowed her pet bed, something they failed to tell me from the get go when I said shall I bring her bed for the "Get Acquainted " visit. I was told no, she doesn't need it for the visit, not "we don't allow pet beds" Stella, my retired greyhound who sleeps 23 1/2 hours a day, isn't allowed to have her bed, yet in the lobby was a dog behind the counter, sleeping in a well worn bed, under a well worn blanket. Double standard, but that's in the lovely lobby, not in the back, where we're not allowed. She's expected to sleep on a flat thing, 3 inches off the ground. That not acceptable. The Staff however, absolutely lovely, pleasant attentive, they seem to care about the animals and appear to enjoy working there. But, good communication, prevents waisting your time and mine, and prevents undo stress on the dog! The dogs who like to play were having a fantastic time, but that's not my dog, and to make a decision you need to see for yourself where your dog will spend it's time! Clearly a paradise for some, but not for all, look at the photos. Still needing an alternative, I took the recommendation of a friend, checked out another facility this afternoon, they gave me the tour inside and out, and without request, showed me exactly where Stella would be staying. The kennels had a clear front, weren't sterile looking , all had comfortable a/c, and most importantly her own bed and blanket are allowed, to comfort her, when she's away from home and without us. read more

I'm very disappointed in how my dog was treated. When I picked him up his legs and chest were saturated in urine and vomit. The excuse given was that they couldn't move him. But I found it interesting that the got him to move when it was time to go home. They did try to clean him up with baby wipes. Then after placing him in the car I had to go back in and ask for a dog grooming spray as we were gagging from the smell of vomit. If there was a problem during his stay, I could have been called the morning before the late afternoon pick up. I really feel no one actually cared. read more

First impression was good, they were very nice and my dog seemed happy when I picked her up. As far as the grooming goes, you can barely tell that they dId anything at all. The only thing that is actually noticeable is that her paws were trimmed. Definitely not a groomer that I will be returning to. As a bonus, I later noticed that her tail was matted after the grooming due to a lack of brushing after the bath. Very poor grooming. I've been a cheerleader for Pet Paradise in Orlando and Jacksonville, but this location is terrible. I dropped.my dog off in the morning and wrote on my reservation that I would call them if I was later than 5pm. No one said anything about that. When I called a little before 5, I got a msg that if I didnt show up in 10 minutes, they were keeping my dog until the next morning. They told me there was no one on site to release my dog, that no one was there overnight except someone who "lived on the property." They said it was policy to not release dogs after 5pm for safety reasons. These were lies. When we arrived at the location, the lights were on throughout the facility, and when a staff member came out through a side door, she said they closed at 5 but she would get Christy, who earlier told me she wouldn't be there. In the meantime, we also took a video at the front doors, talking about their lies and how they were holding our dog hostage. Within 15 minutes, Christy brought our dog to the front door, gave his leash to one of us (no request for any ID), and quickly went back inside. Unless you are willing to adjust your schedule to their hours, don't go here. And if your plane is late or there's traffic, you're out of luck. They keep your pet. When I told Christy that the JAX airport location has after-hours assistance and release, she said, "They're obviously doing it wrong." Next time, we'll be using VIP boarding in the area. They are good, trustworthy, clean, and customer oriented. Nothing at all like this disaster of a Pet Paradise. Just stay away from them. read more

I'm just writing to share one of my worst nightmares and hopefully prevent others to go through what my four legged boys went through. About a month ago I boarded my two boys for the weekend, something that I have already done several times over the last year. Both of my boys are rescue dogs the oldest one is 70 pounds and the little one is 20, due to the differences in size I always selected the VIP suites, so they could be together. On that Saturday morning September 10th around 9:30 AM I'm out of town, so I logged in to the Camera of the VIP suite to check on the boys, I noticed that my big boy was there alone with the food bowl untouched. I could not see my little one anywhere, checked out all the other cameras and he was nowhere to be found. But I thought he was probably playing somewhere else. Then two hours later I checked the cameras again and my big boy was still there alone with the food still untouched, When I called and asked where the little one was, I was told they were separated to eat, (even though they both eat side by side at home for years) then I told them that the food had been sitting there for over two hrs and that I have left them some soft canned food to mix with the dry food for the same reason that the big boy don't eat well when not home, the employee said "OK will do it now". Then shortly after they were both again together. So I kept on checking throughout the day and by the end of the evening I noticed that they had never left the VIP suite. So I called back to question why they weren't being taken outside to play with the other dogs and that's when I was told that they were on a one to one monitoring because of behavioral issues. I immediately asked her what were the issues, And she said that the little one had been going after the other dogs and that they have tried to bring him back with the other dogs for three occasions and that he kept on doing the same thing, so he had been on one to one since March. Ok now I was freaking out, to me communication is the key, and I'm thinking we are in September, and I had been taking both of my dogs to day camp, grooming and boarding frequently and have never been told about any of this, no behavioral issues or anything, but of course I've been thinking that both my boys have been having a blast over the last year because every time they went there I would get a text of how much fun they've been having and "can't wait to be back to tell me so". Then I asked why the big boy was not taken out to play (me knowing that he's very shy and gentle) and she said "he doesn't like to play" At that moment I realized that both have been neglected not only on that particular stay but since March or probably from the first day they visited. I felt hopeless and wished I Would have been in town to go pick them up immediately. Eventually I got to speak with a manager on tour who confirmed that the boys had been on a one to one and only allowed to play together and not with the rest of the dogs since March, she then said "I thought You knew". I love my boys and knowing that I put them through this breaks my heart. I went to pick up the boys the next day and they offer me a hundred dollars discount, come on Pet Paradise is not about the money!! Is that I trusted your people with the two little creatures that I love the most and you mistreated them and neglected them. staff showed no empathy. By far the most incompetent and careless staff I've ever encountered. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents who do not use the Internet this way, but they are very upset with the haircut services received on their teacup chihuahua -- they had to wait too long for her haircut and once she was finally finished, it was way too short, injuring the dog around her anus -- the dog now has trouble using the bathroom. There are marks on her little legs where they cut down to the skin leaving it red and raw (no hair there). When my parents went in to discuss this terrible haircut, they were told, "oh, the manager is in a conference." Very disappointing experience. read more

My wife and I, left our Golden Retriever, Chance, at Pet Paradise for 5-nights. We never place Chance in boarding but after trying their day care services thought we could trust them with our boy. We returned to find Chance with a hot spot the size of my open hand. Half of Chance's neck is rotting and he has an ear infection. Pet Paradise says you can call them anytime. They didn't pick up the 12 out of 13 times we called over the course of the 5 days. When they answered, they said all was great. We even received an email saying Chance was doing great. They neglected to care of our Chance and neglected to keep us updated. read more

Our little guy Gator loves going to Pet Paradise. When we pull into the parking lot he whimpers and yelps from pure excitement. Gator warmly greets the staff, and he doesn't like anyone, upon arrival. The staff is very pleasant to check in and out with, they make it very quick and easy. Because our pets are just as much a member of our family as are other members of our family, when we look for overnight, or daycare for them we have to be very particular. We have been clients of Pet Paradise for almost 2 years and during that time we have been exceptionally happy. The facility is always impeccably clean. When we visited other places we were always greeted by horrendous smells. At Pet Paradise the facility is clean, bright and inviting.The staff is highly professional and caring beyond our expectations. Our dog becomes incredibly excited a block away every time we take her there either for day care, or overnight stays.
