UPDATE! We have a second pup, Rico. He has begun his grooming journey with Dee's. And I could not be more pleased. Since he is new to the process, it will take time for him to become familiar. Therefore, Dee's offers "puppy hangouts" for new pups to get them used to grooming. In the past, hangouts helped Blake. Now, Rico is improving with his visits and doing better on the grooming table. Customer Service here was awesome from check in to pick up and my babies haircut! I have a 9 no Aussiedoodle and getting her groomed is a chore finding a place that won't cut her like a poodle. I've found cheaper groomers but the price point for my 40 lb baby was reasonable. They are flexible with pick up which really helped in my case! Communication is efficient. Will definitely be back. I returned for a nail trim when I couldn't reach them by phone with no answer after ten rings. They told me they only take walk-ins between 10AM and 12 noon and it was 1:30. They said they couldn't take me even if I was willing to wait for a groomer. I was frustrated that they didn't pick up when I called or have a voice recording to advise me of their hours. Jessica did not offer to schedule me or ask any of the groomers if they were willing to fit me in. I took Biscuit over to Petsmart a mile down the road and they were very accommodating. read more

I brought my 50lbs Husky here and I won't take him anywhere else from now on. I was a little nervous because he was shedding badly and the fur on his rear end was a little matted. They told me they don't do a deshedding/furminator package anymore, so I was worried I would pay for him to still have fluffs falling off of him. However when I got my dog back he looked amazing. They removed all the mats and got rid of all the loose fur. He's never looked better! If you take your pet to like a petsmart or petco grooming like I used to, and you're thinking of switching to Dee's... DO IT!! My dog has been going here since he was 4 months and we both love the staff and the grooms. Highly recommend! They have also given me great advice on what to do at home so Rocco (my dog) can have better grooms. I have a pitbull and most people will not accept them or are just generally scared of them. Unfortunately, it's time for me to leave this unsatisfactory review. I have been going to Dee's Grooming Gallery for approximately seven years. I started taking one of my dogs there and then we bought another one, and I added her on. Before the pandemic started, things were actually very good. The place is affordable, the customer service was great, the groomers were nice and seemed to genuinely care about your dogs. During the pandemic, everything changed, specifically the quality of the grooms as well as the quality of the customer service. All I can say about the grooming is that often I leave with a haircut that I didn't ask for and I didn't like. I never say anything, because I always give specific instructions, and it seems to be ignored and after the fact there's nothing that can be done, so I let it go. However, the big thing that I can no longer let go is the extremely poor customer service. The prices have skyrocketed and although they give an explanation as to why, with poor service and quality of haircuts, at no longer seems worth it. Also, I have to say that the lady who works the front desk, Jessica, either has not gotten any customer service training or lacks self-awareness when it comes to human personal interaction with other people. If you ask her a very specific question, she stares at you like she has no idea what you asked and immediately become defensive. Todays interaction is the perfect example, I got my two dogs groomed and it cost $202, when I asked her if the base price had been the same over the last year, she started to make excuses. She never answered the question directly. She stated that the price was higher because I hadn't brought my dogs in five months, and they were matted, and if I kept up with the proper grooming schedule then the price would be lower. I explained to her that I understand that I had add-ons, including teeth, nails, and dematting fee, but I reiterated again "what was the base price." And she continued to look confused and dazed, and then was accusatory in her way of communicating. Then another lady came out and said "let me handle it. I'll tell you the price." Her customer service was also lacking, with poor eye contact and tone. They don't seem to care about keeping business and maybe because they aren't a lot of other groomers around. I have spoke to management and the owners multiple times about the poor customer service, specifically jessica and it seems to fall of deaf ears. I have spoken to the owner and she states that she will address it but then also continues to make excuses for why this behavior is OK. You cannot ask them a simple question about pricing or appointments without getting sass in return. I have spoken to the owners son as well, and while he has better customer service skills, if he is not present the poor customer service continues. I understand that it's hard to find people, but Jessica at the front desk either needs more aggressive training in the way that she speaks to people or she needs to find another job. I have given Dee's Grooming Gallery approximately two extra years more than they deserved but unfortunately, now I will no longer be able to use them. They have transitioned from a business that previously truly cared about your dogs, to a business only trying to make money, without providing additional value. The price no longer matches the value so I am done. I do think it is important to notice that when people complain, the owner takes absolutely no responsibility for the complaint. The only reason this business has survived is because there are a scarcity of groomers in the area. If there was more competition, she would likely fail. High prices, poor service and low value never survive... Her response was for me to find a other shop which I had already indicated I would do. read more

I took my dog for grooming one week ago and when I picked him up, he looked as if he was unevenly cut and air dryed. His coat was not smooth, there was no tailoring around his abdomen face or tail. Also, he had a cut on his paw. I brought this to their attention immediately and they offered to redo if it was within a week: Well, I was going out of town and asked if I could bring him the following week and was told NO. They did a poor job and were not willing to keep me as a customer. I will move on. Business owners remember we are the customers!! read more

Went there only because I live near the shop and I pass it all of the time. I will not go any where else. I love the service that they give my pup. He goes there and he comes out smelling great and is so soft and fluffy! (He is an AussieDoodle) My pup loves it there too because he is greeted with hugs and kisses and he jumps out of the car every time- eager to go inside. The staff there is great and they give me excellent advice as well as what to do in between visits! You can tell that they love what they do and they are great with pets. I've taken my dogs to the Sandy Springs location for 10 years. Now that I'm on this side of town, I've switched to their Smyrna location and I still love it ! I have a Big dog with lots of hair. Just to combat the hair tumbleweeds in my house, I get her close clipped about twice a year. ($82) They have the time, energy and patience it takes to groom a big dog. My dog never shies away from coming here. Dee's always meets my expectations. I'll continue to come back. read more

Okay. I was referred here by fellow Yelper Pamela M. THANKS PAM! I am very pleased with the location in Smyrna! They are so very kind and caring to your pets. I took 3 dogs at one time to get them all Mini Treatments. One turned into a Mega Treatment because he had been some what neglected for years, as far as his grooming goes. But this was not a problem for them! My big dog is a HAM. She either loves you or she wants to bite your head off. Luckily for these women she was in love from the moment we walked into the building. One pet and she came over to give me a doggy hug and was like "Later Homie!" and walked to the back as if she'd been coming there for years! They take a few minutes to look over your pet(s) to see what they can or can not do. Then they have you complete a form about your pet(s) and then they take them off to be groomed! There is a Vet right next door to the shop. One of the dogs that I took hair was so matted that I had to sign a waiver that said I'd pay for services provided for by the Vet if he was cut or injured. Luckily for that little Champ he cooperated with these ladies and his matted hair is just a horrible and distant memory! I give this location a 5 Star because I am used to taking my dog to PetSmart. This Grooming shop is so much more personable than any big store chain can be. I believe they have at least 2 locations so you can try the other location as well. They explained the procedures to you and you can tell that they really do love pets! If you go to their website you can find a discount for your first visit. It's been about 6-8 weeks since my last visit and they even called to remind me to schedule an appointment soon to keep my smaller dogs from getting matted. They will also give your pets complementary hair brushes if you just drop them off every couple of weeks to keep them from matting. I think this is an excellent free service and you can go shopping or out to lunch and come back to get your dog in an hour or two. I'd suggest you leave a tip though since most places charge for this service. read more

It's unfortunate, I really wanted to go there but no. I scheduled and couldn't get an appointment for like two months. Just before I tried to cancel because I had gotten my dog groomed not that long before the appointment but received a text saying it was too late to cancel. So, I said okay I will bring him. Got there, was told my appointment was canceled. The customer service is lacking, no one greeted me, no one looked up until I said hello. Then the person at the front desk was so defensive about sending a text about canceling. Finally, one of the groomers who was on her phone quite intently looked up and said she would do the groom. Desk attendant says not without completing forms which she didn't give to me but pointed me to my old messages to fill them out. My goodness, is this open heart surgery???!! Or a dog groom?! They wouldn't touch my dog, so I am in the lobby trying to fill out forms on my phone with my dog in my arms. I just walked out. Go there if you like, for me it's a NO. My money is better burned. I Brought my large american greyhound in for a nail clip on Saturday, after a bad experience at Petsmart. I called and they just requested I arrive before 3:30 that day. I was able to go inside with my dog which was nice. During the pandemic I've found it to be uncomfortable to have to drop my dog off and not be with him in new environments. The team immediately came into the lobby, with a nice young man comforting and distracting my dog, and a very friendly lady going to work on his long nails. She was able to get them all cleaned up in under 2 minutes, and the grand total was only $10. Really can't beat it, for the service, professionalism, and price! read more

Had an amazing experience at Dee's Grooming Gallery! My boxer can be a handful and is very picky with strangers when deciding who he likes and who he doesn't. He absolutely loved it here. Since he has short hair we have never taken him to a groomer before, as I usually just bathe him at home. However, it is spring in Georgia and he had a couple fleas so I decided to take him in for a flea bath. The staff is amazing, so caring and all animal lovers. They sent me pictures and videos of him getting his bath. They did a great job and he is still smelling great a couple days later. My fiancé asked if we could take him in every few weeks, since he smells so clean and his coat is extra soft! Well I tried to book an appointment here for my 8 year old well behaved toy poodle, but they told me it would cost between $52 and $75 depending on his behavior..... I have never heard of anything like that in my life. I just want to know how much it costs. He has had over 100 grooms with 5 star behavior ratings and she said she still couldn't give a quote. I hate leaving bad reviews. I honestly never have and feel there is already enough negativity in the world. With that being said, we just moved to Smyrna, so I was looking for a new place to get my dog groomed. I found Dee's on yelp and decided to give it a try. I am upset because they charged me $150 for my golden doodle to come home looking like a rat. They claimed her hair was "so bad" that it would cost extra. I agreed assuming she would come home looking decent for that price. Keep in mind her full cuts normally cost $75 dollars at her previous groomer in Buckhead. If I would have known they were just going to shave her to the bone I would have done that myself for free. read more

Took Gizzy Bear here for a grooming and Brenda did a great job! Thanks to shoddy weekly grooming at PetSmart - he had two mats on each side of his little ears. Not sure why they washed him with these mats when most professinals agree that you're supposed to remove any mats BEFORE washing a dog. (See my PetSmart - Smyrna review.) UPDATE: I sent an e-mail to Dee to explain the experiences I had with her Smyrna location. She e-mail me back the next business day and was kind enough to offer a possible solution. I am thankful that she cared enough to try to make the situation right. **Therefore, I am increasing the stars on this review. It is with a slightly heavy heart and annoyance that I write this review. I really like Dee, she was the first person to groom our Lhasa Apso when he was a little doggie. Over time she grew to have a second location (Smyrna) and that is where this story begins... Here are my suggestions and here is my review. I hope it helps someone else. Thank you. SUGGESTIONS: - Your receptionist sets the tone for the customer experience. Be mindful of who you hire for this position. - Make sure to have proper help. They said Brenda was the only person working all day that day 4/25/14. I bet she was tired and frustrated by the time she got to our beloved pet. Which is why we received the service we did. - Don't charge full price for a job not completely done. MY EXPERIENCE: My Lhasa is now almost 12 years old. He has been plagued with ear infections his whole life and at this point he gets a bit more nervous because his hearing and vision are not always as sharp as in his younger days. When I dropped him off the morning of his appointment a new woman at the front desk greeted me. She came from behind the desk to take my Lhasa and noticed his long wild hair. She claimed "oh he has lots of knots" Well, he had 3. Matter of fact, I pointed one out that she missed because I rub him and play with him every day. Next, I said "I know this may be in his file but please put a muzzle on him when working in and around his ears." I always say this because he will snip. Due to all the ear infections, messing with his ears makes him nervous and he is likely to snip a professional working on him. I CANNOT BELIEVE at around 2pm that afternoon we received a call that Brenda the groomer could not do anything with "all the knots" and couldn't groom his face because he was giving her a hard time. Simple question was asked "Did you put a muzzle on" Answer, no. The receptionist was going on about it so badly that we asked if we needed to pick him up. The receptionist said, when do you want to come pick him up. At that time we asked to speak with Brenda, the groomer. Interestingly, he still hadn't been washed. She said she would try to use the muzzle and do her best. When we picked him up we were charged $70.00 for a close cut where his legs were cut CHOPPY and a tuft of hair on his buttock was not cut, and a small tuft of hair on his beard was not cut. You have got to be joking. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt the first time we picked him up and the cut was unsatisfactory because we really like Dee but after this experience, we will have to take our business elsewhere. read more

I started taking my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to Dee's Grooming Gallery back when I lived near their only location (in Sandy Springs). I moved to Smyrna and went to probably about 3-4 different groomers in the area, never finding one that did as good as a job as Dee's Grooming Gallery. I even drove BACK to the Sandy Springs location a couple of times (~30 minutes) just to get my dog groomed! :) I was THRILLED when I was driving to work one day and saw their "Now Open" signed and I have taken my dog there probably 3 times now in the past few months. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and they really do know what they are doing. Not to mention the place is EXTREMELY clean. My dog loves it there too because they really give her a lot of attention. Each time we pull into the parking lot, she goes crazy because she's so happy to be back :) In short, I would HIGHLY recommend :) read more

I took my dog here last week. The lady at the front desk was super nice when I came in and when I spoke with her over the phone to schedule and reschedule my appointment. My dog came back smelling nice! The prices are reasonable and posted on the website (I saw some reviews from a few years ago where prices weren't available). My big issue (and the reason for the low stars) is the wait time and the fact that your dog is there for 5-6 hours. I completely understand that there are multiple dogs and whatnot and don't mind my dog being there for a while however, they keep the dogs in a crate for hours on hours without giving them a chance to pee/ take care of their business. That's my issue. When I picked up my dog at 1:20, he was so happy to go outside and finally pee. I felt so bad because I usually take him out in the early afternoon. I was told to drop my dog off at 8am and was not allowed to come get him until 1:30. I wish I could have just dropped him off later if they weren't going to get to him until 1 because I know my dogs bath didn't take that long, all he had done was a wash and a nail clip so i'm assuming 30-45 minutes at most. From now on i'll be going back to petco, the wait time/ time the dogs are in the crate is way lower! read more

I tried Dee's Grooming because it's right next door to my vet. I was very pleased with how well they took care of Sydney, my terrier mix. They did a great job on her haircut and Sydney was happy both going into and exiting from the groomers--she didn't seem traumatized at all! The only weird thing was that they only took cash, but I think that's because they had recently opened and didn't have their credit card machine up yet. Still, I'd call ahead if you plan on using a debit or credit card. read more

I took my two small dogs to Dee's last when my regular groomer became unavailable. I requested a mini groom and head trim for both...this included anal extraction, teeth, paws, sanitary trim around the backside and a haircut for the head only (no haircut on the body). The two pups I took in were very cute, but very wild looking. Hair sprouting in all directions on their heads and breath that would melt asphalt. Dee's groomer did a fantastic job with both pups. Fiona (Maltese) looked like marshmallow fluff and smelled wonderful. Benji (Poodle/Dachshund) got a Mohawk that actually looks like an honest to goodness Mohawk and not like an extra tall pencil eraser (past experience w/ a different groomer) And their breath was heavenly. I didn't notice it until Fiona dived in for a "Hello Mommy" face lick and I didn't have to hold my breath and twist my face all over the place to avoid contact with her extra pungent halitosis. Her breath actually smelled terrific! And her teeth were gleaming white. Dee's was fantastic. Highly recommend that you take your pups there... read more

My fiancé and I took our 1 year old Shi-poo puppy, Skittles, to Dee's Grooming about 2 weeks ago. We were hesitant to take her to another groomer because we had a bad experience with her first time at PetSmart (our pup got an infection from an open cut during her hair cut, they hadn't told us she got cut). But after speaking to the ladies at Dee and seeing all the wonderful customer reviews, we made a full grooming appointment. Everyone was very welcoming and informative of what she would be experiencing, and how the dogs don't stay in the crate very long during the process. The facilities are clean and don't smell and they will answer all and any questions. They even sent us a "Thank you" card in the mail after her visit which was a very nice touch. Overall, you won't go wrong sending your dog to Dee's. Try them out you, will be going back for sure! read more
