Great groomers. Our puppy had a hard time allowing us to cut her nails. We tried almost every groomer in Delray and Boynton. After keeping her half the day they claimed they did what they could do safely. We finally took her to pet spot. They cut her nails in minutes without issues again and again. We asked if they felt they could groom her as others had given up and simply could not do it. Just moved to the Boynton area and was looking for somewhere to get my Boston terrier a bath and nail trim bc I no longer have a bathtub and just a stand up shower so did some research and went with my gut on the pet spot. I called on a Friday and the sweet owner answered and was able to squeeze my pup in the next day. The girls who took meatloaf back were very sweet and ensured he would be in good hands. I stopped by first to tell them about my pup and without a beat they said it could be done, no hesitation. "You'll wanna see that guy" and she motioned to a man in the back corner with a blue mohawk. To be honest, our 10 month old mini poodle Gigi didn't want much to do with a groomer. She had a very traumatic first experience a few months ago with a groomer who told me outright "no one will groom this dog!" A second groomer had better results but still, labeled Gigi "challenging". I searched the internet and read many reviews about different groomers in our area when I came upon comments about the Pet Spot and specifically about the owner, Brett. I called the salon, talked to Brett and explained what was going on. Without hesitation he said, " I'll groom her, she'll be fine." Soon after arriving for our appointment Brett was sitting on the floor holding Gigi in his arms while she was kissing his face. It was heartwarming to see the connection he made with her. Brett and I chatted about what grooming services would or would not be performed and off I went, returning a few hours later to find a very happy and beautifully groomed pup! Brett works his "magic" with dogs that exhibit behavioral issues while being groomed. His grooming skills match those of his understanding of how to handle these types of dogs. Brought my Maltese in for a bath and trim a few months ago. I was asked if it would be OK to leave him out of the cage while he waited, which I had no immediate objection. A few hours later my dog was in a local hospital with a heavy cough and unknown complications. My wife and I have been taking our dogs to Brett at the Pet Spot for years and give him our highest recommendation! He bathed and trimmed the nails of our two German Shepherds for years, and took great care of Pooh Bear from the time we adopted him until we moved away from sunny Florida. Pooh Bear is a white ball of fluff who was often on his way to becoming a tangled mess by grooming time, and he always came home looking fantastic. My dog passed away almost a week ago which has been a very traumatic experience for my family and I. I've taken my 2 yorkies to this place for about a year and I have never had a problem. On one of my dogs last visit he left there not feeling well, I let them know and they showed deep concern and even followed up with a phone call to check on peetu. Brought my 2 chihuahuas in, one for a grooming and one to get his nails cut. Usually the one who gets his nails cut has to be muzzled, because he tries to bite. Needless to say, he was as calm as can be. The owner of the store held him while one of the groomers trimmed his nails. I was impressed! I left my long hair chihuahua to get groomed and they told me he'd be done at noon and he was actually done earlier!
