After my husband and I had our first child, we moved from Mpls in 2022, into a new home in Burnsville. With all the excitement, we decided to get a puppy. We found a very reputable breeder of Golden Retrievers through friends. At this point our life was so perfect we couldn't be happier. New home, new baby, new puppy. The American dream was falling into place. After a yr we thought we should take our precious puppy in for her first checkup. A neighbor recommended Dr Hunt at the Palomino Hospital-Clinic in Burnsville. Before the appointment we researched vaccinations for animals & found they're not all necessarily intended to help animals, some can potentially harm them & even cause death. When we brought this up to Dr Hunt, he became very defensive & appeared almost angry as if we were out of line for even questioning vaccines. He assured us that they were not harmful & that our puppy would be just fine. So, with some reservations, we put our faith & trust in him. Little did we know this would have devastating consequences. A few weeks before XMAS of '25 our beautiful retriever became sick. She was losing weight, had no energy & couldn't keep food down. She was getting worse by the day. We were dumbfounded. She had impeccable lineage, was fed the finest foods & exercised daily. We researched her symptoms and found it could be the results of vaccinations. The only vax she ever had where the ones Dr Hunt had guaranteed us were so safe. We immediately took her to a new vet at a new clinic. Our worst nightmare was coming true. After a battery of tests, it was confirmed. Our baby had cancer. It was terminal. With this diagnosis, and the info we supplied, the Dr agreed, it certainly could have been caused by the vaccinations she got as a pup. How do you tell your 4yr old child her beautiful dog is dying & we have to euthanize her because you trusted a bad vet. Dr. Hunt from Palomino Hospital/Clinic must be one of the most unprofessional Dr's we've ever encountered. The biggest regret of our life was not leaving when we got so much resistance when asking questions about the vax. It felt as if he was hiding something and trying to keep us from asking more questions. We thought we may have been over cautious, but in hindsight we were right on point. If we knew then, what we know now, we would have never taken our baby to that evil man. He destroyed the emotional fabric of our new beginning, in our new home, with our first child. We can't stop crying over the devastating loss of our beautiful pet that we loved like our child. It is going to take a long time to get thru this bad experience. We seriously beg anyone thinking of using the Palomino Clinic, to not. If you already are, please find someone new. He is dangerous. He is not a nice person & not the kind of professional you want treating your family pet. The neighbor that recommended him is horrified. Please make the right decision. GOD BLESS!!!

(Stray Cat Strut) Huge thank you to Last Hope for taking in the sweetest stray cat that wandered into my care, strutting right by with her tail in the air in December. She was too much of a princess to get her dinner from a garbage can, or get a shoe thrown at her from a mean old man! Red Wing doesn't have animal control, and all local shelters were full. The foster-based Camp Companion rescue also never responded back after I filled out their online form...so the situation was getting desperate! Last Hope became my literal last hope, responding immediately that they would be able to place her in foster care after being vetted at a clinic in Burnsville. I was so impressed with their communication and caring--I can't recommend them highly enough! They really do have cat class and cat style!

Because this is a needed service. I received a response back. I guess if I am being told this is a business, then my response is, the customer is always right. Just requesting a refund for even partial a $200 deposit, when the staff don't even know how to tell you to get to their own work site seems reasonable. My kids were present and they compared how I was treated to how people interact when they are not adults. It is sad they had to witness that. If the only goal is to make money, then being underpaid might not be an issue if the people and pets were treated right. Loyal customers keep coming back and they tell their friends and family. That is good for business. But if all that it is, is a business then I don't think I want to entrust my pet to you. People and pets need to be treated right. Remember, we are the ones hiring you.

No loyalty or consideration for long term customers. No acknowledgement that they know the mobility issues of our dog in a way that an emergency vet will never know. The woman on the phone must have said 10 times: "we are not an emergency facility, go see someone else". Well, honey, I am not an idiot, I do understand English, I simply was trying to hold you to a higher standard.... a standard which Twin Cities Animal rehab is totally uninterested in meeting. The vet there that my dog has seen for years WOULD NOT EVEN CALL US. Yes, thanks for the advice, we will find someone else. Someone who knows the meaning of customer service and loyalty.

I called them to see if I could get a refill if my vet in Georgia faxed in a prescription. They informed me of the price, got all my info and said they could call me when it was ready. Hours later I got a call from them informing me that my vet did not fax it in yet. I called my vet and they said they sent it, overall it was a back and forth game but I finally got my prescription. I was impressed that even though my pup was not a regular patient at this clinic; they reached out to me to let me know they had not gotten the prescription. During my second visit, I brought my dogs in because one of them had worms in their stool. The technician and the vet were so helpful and friendly. They each took their time asking me questions, looking at my dogs and asked me questions about life. They were genuinely concerned about my dogs and interested in me. This was impressive because not only did they care about the health of my dogs but they wanted to get to know me as an individual. The entire staff that I encountered were all friendly and helpful. From the lady I spoke with about the prescription to the lady that checked me out. The prices here for the prescription and both dogs being seen was reasonable. I was expecting it to be much higher. I would highly recommend this clinic. If I have any problems again with my dogs when I'm home in MN, this is where I would bring them. **FYI, there business cards are also discount cards. You can get $20 off your first visit if you give it to them, they are by the registers. I didn't notice this until later after my first visit.
