I have been using this groomer for close to 20 years; they are now grooming my 3rd dog. I totally recommend them. I have had 2 Maltese and now a Morkie (half maltese and half yorkie). Have never had a problem with this salon. Once in a while the cut is not quite like I would like but then when I think about it, I realize I didn't give them enough information or it has been a bit long since the last appointment (my income has dropped significantly and thus can't afford to take her as often) and thus maybe their notes are not up to date. My dogs have always liked going here. The one I have now is a little feisty, but even with that, they do a very nice job; they have tamed her down quite a bit as far as getting a haircut goes. On September 27,2019 I took my Airdale to be groomed at this location. It was my second visit and this time they truly messed up the cut!!! Before leaving her there I confirmed with the front desk that they did still have the original notes on how I wanted to have her groomed and they still screwed it up!! I took both of my puppies to get groomed on Saturday and the manager of the department cut their hair. When I took them home I noticed both of my yorkies hair cuts were choppy and lopsided. My husband came home and was so upset on how they made our dogs look. This place is defiantly QUANTITY over QUALITY of their work. ThI called Monday to express how upset I was over their haircuts and spoke to the manager Marie. She said my instructions were in her words "too specific" and she did cut their hair the way she wanted too. I asked why didn't she call us to pick up our dogs if she wasn't able to do what I was asking. She chopped off both of my dogs beards and the hair around both of their face looks all chopped up. They went in looking like yorkies and came out looking like shaved chihuahua.s. We have been coming here for over a year and will never ever come back. We stressed exactly how we wanted their cuts and it was all the complete opposite. I asked to speak to the owner of this business and I am still waiting on a call. They offered to refund our money and I guess they thought that was enough and did not have to return my calls. Stay away if you want a good haircut for your pets and not just a shaved quick job. Update- We did not wait 6 months to groom our dogs. We went to a different groomer but unfortunately they were booked this past weekend. Even with that said why would your groomer /manager cut my dogs hair complete opposite then what we requested. She even said I was too specific and gave too many details and she cut it the way she wanted to cut it. My dogs were not matted or tangled up so why would you shave their faces the way she did. First time I've ever used a dog grooming shop. But it's time for Scooby to get a good groom. I looked up groomers in the area and found Pet Styling by Sherry has been open for quite a long time. And even better they have a groomer that owns a boxer! So overall pick of a place was easy. Once arriving the staff was very nice and welcoming. Pretty much spoiled my dog from the time I walked in. Losing this place was one of the largest drawbacks of moving out of Houston! Seriously. We were so lucky to find this place for our English Bulldog. The staff is awesome and friendly - and always went out of their way to make sure our dog had a good time in boarding and daycare. They do an excellent job of monitoring the dogs and making sure that every dog gets good exercise and socialization. My dog was always exhausted when she came home and she (as well as her bedding) was always CLEAN. I never had a problem at this establishment - and would highly recommend it to anyone who has to go out of town and doesn't want to worry about their 4 legged counterparts. read more

Love this place. I take my two pups here for daycare and they love it!!! They get so excited when we get there and can't get to the backyard area fast enough. We also get out grooming done here and I have boarded them a few times. I can't say enough about the staff and the prices are reasonable. After comparing several groomers to each other throughout Google and Yelp, I'm undeniably happy with the way my Golden Retriever's grooming went. I was able to schedule an appointment the day before I brought him in with no issues. I wasn't sure about how I wanted him to be groomed since my boyfriend is usually the one who takes him but Alexis talked me through the process and explained everything thoroughly. I could tell that she took exceptional care of him because he walked out that gate with a huge smile looking fresh, soft, & beautiful and smelling like heaven!!! I was even given a detailed 'grooming report card' that listed the conditions of how his fur, ears, eyes, teeth and nails were doing and what was done to them. I bring our Cocker Spaniel there for his cut and style. He's pretty easy to groom, doesn't mind the blow dryer and a good sport about being wet. We let his hair grow out until he's pretty shaggy. He's white, so he's impossible to keep clean. I've always been very pleased with the service we've received. He looks (and smells) FANTASTIC when I pick him up. They clean his ears, teeth, trim his nails...the whole enchilada all for $55. I think they even bathe him in a "man" flavored shampoo so he doesn't smell girly. (The Hubs likes that.) Never had any problems with cuts or him being "afraid" of the place. He's a pretty happy guy, and the ladies all dote on him. I have had issues with other places trimming all the hair off of his ears, but after I explained what I liked, he's come out looking great each time. The only thing I don't like is the time it takes to get him done. It's def a lot quicker than the Petsmart across the street from us. If I drop him off by 8 we usually get him back by 3. read more

I went here On Saturday to have my dog's nails trimmed. I have been here a few times for nail trims & grooming before & they have always done a decent job, but this day was different. They brought my dog back out & said they were done, and only a minute had gone by...certainly not enough time had passed for them to trim ALL of his nails. Brought my little man here and he came back looking AWESOME!! He had been going somewhere else and they did such a poor job. We decided to take our friends advice and try where she took her dogs. We were able to get an appointment the next day after we called, which is great! When I arrived his groomer came out to discuss how to style him, Kayla was polite and very patient with me, helping us try and fix the terrible cut he got prior to coming in. My dog has seizures and she was very knowledgeable about how to handle them if one were to happen. He was done quicker than I had expected and I was clear across town, when I called to say I would be awhile they said no worries and "we'll play with him some more!" I was so glad to hear :) When I picked him up he looked great! Cute short teddy bear face with a little puffy tail. And shocker... He was cut evenly. It's sad that I was so excited, but with the last place leaving him look so silly Kayla had her work cut out for her. I can't stress enough how pleased I was. I brought Oakley, my 65lb 4 year old lab retriever, to Sherry's, who still will bite at people she is threatened of. She wore a muzzle the whole time but her uncooroperative personality made me scared they wouldn't be able to groom her like I'd like. By my surprise, she came out completely shaven besides around her muzzle but I knew that if the muzzle came off, she'd bite them. They responded great to her dominance & we're still able to give her back to me the way I wanted her to be! They really can do anything you'd like to any dog! read more

Just move to Houston so I've been searching for a groomer for quite a while. I decided to give them a call and to my surprise they had availability to groom my cat the next day. Awesome! I dropped off Duchess at 9am and got a call at 1:40pm that she was ready. The total to get her groom with a lion cut was 88 dollars not including tip. I was honestly shocked it was more than I thought (used to paying 65 in San Marcos) still not an issue I knew owning a Persian cat would be expensive. Anyways the groomer (red hair girl) explained she had "quite a few flees" so they had to use flee shampoo. My cat is indoor so I didn't expect her to have flees. I'm thankful I was told, so I can keep monitoring that issue. After the groomer gave that statement she rudely left without giving me time to talk to her about how my cat behaved or at least give her a tip. I talked to the receptionist/cat groomer assistant afterwards and she was extremely nice. I felt more calm when she told me duchess didn't give them trouble in the process. Overall they did a great job! Lion cut looks good and duchess smells nice. read more

Having read all the reviews I agree that in the beginning I was thrilled with the grooming of my dog. The first time was perfect just the way I had ask ( that groomer left) the second time I had her groomed I told I did not like a poodle cut/she is poodle mix but I had specifically ask for the Teddy Bear cut on the face, legs a little longer and medium on body still winter and she was wearing a sweater legs were cut too short and she was practically shaved. I mentioned this when I picked her up and was assured this would not happen again I also ask again not to put ribbons in her hair the rubber bands pulled her hair. On Saturday June 2, 2018 I took my dog in to be groomed reminded them again and stressed the cut I wanted. When I came back to get her the grooming report said " watch her she has a "hot spot" I ask what that was and how did this happen, they brought the groomer out and she said she had a matted place on her tail where a cyst ruptured!! that was a lie, my dog went in just fine, I ask did you hit that spot with the shears, oh no, she was like that. I was so angry I ask that they say nothing else to me I would never bring my dog in injured to be groomed!! OMG how awful and how awful of them to continue grooming her after she was hurt--AND NOT CALLING ME TO LET ME KNOW SO ME AS THE OWNER COULD MAKE THAT DECISION NOT THEM!!! Once I got home, I tried taking her to the Vet they were closed, I cleaned the area, medicated and bandaged it and called and spoke with Kaila who immediately said oh the groomer showed this to me and said it was like this when I brought her in etc, she wanted me to bring my dog back and let them put lavender or tea tree oil on her to relax her, she had a wound the size of a dime. We made it through the week end--I had pain meds for her and kept her quiet and comfortable. First thing Monday I went to my vet and was advised that the cyst was probably going to rupture but it had been nicked!! on my way home from the vet Kaila called to ask about my dog and let her know what the Vet had said and that I would definitely not be back for several reasons! 1) I was lied to about my dog--and Kaila agreed this was all handled wrong and not by their standards. 2) groomer was very young and as I told Kaila she lied to not get in trouble, she was talking so fast when she brought me my dog thing she could get my mind off my dog!! I let her know that speaking fast usually indicated a coverup of some sort 3) when people keep calling you to check on what they have done good indication that they are worried about something other than my dog 4) THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME, LET ME MAKE THE DECISION TO GROOM OR SEE A DOCTOR!!! 5) my dog was in such pain she was panting so hard and breathing so heavy I thought she was going to pass out-- As long as things go okay I believe this place would be okay---but for young inexperienced people to make a decision for someone else is WRONG!! I was also told well if she comes back there are more experienced groomers??? why was I not told this in the beginning I let Kaila know hey I would pay much more for this ---OH no extra charge??? Basically I not sure where this will end up I was terribly disappointed with the treatment in addition to the grooming which was okay, I had a vet bill, medication, face restraint w/cone to keep her from licking the area, face was done like a poodle again rest was okay except for her injury --OMG I still can not believe they did this do an innocent dog that is at their mercy, which they do not have. DO NOT TRUST THEM!! Oh yes and the entire time I trying to talk to the Groomer and the lady that came out with her the cashier's only concern is to get the ticket paid--no concern about me or my dog and my dog has wrapped her arms around my neck with her head on my shoulder and the cashier is OH look how sweet--she was crushed--this is her first injury with blood---so so sad! read more

We're visiting Houston and our high-strung, dog-aggressive Shiba Inu mix needed her nails trimmed. I took her here because of good yelp reviews and they were fantastic! She let out a couple of screams so they took her to a room away from the other dogs and had no further problems. I was in and out in a matter of minutes and my dog was not traumatized! I took my dog in for a grooming, explicitly stating that she bites and recommended that she have a muzzle put on. I don't think a muzzle was put on because she bit one of the groomers and we were told never to come back with our dog. The cut is terrible, it's lopsided and there are multiple uneven patches of hair on her back and legs. Her head was left half groomed, with random tufts of hair sticking out. We found that our dog was bleeding after the visit to Sherry's. I was still charged $51 for this heinous experience. read more

I took my goldendoodle here for grooming and BOTH of her ears had been cut. One ear was bleeding so bad that I had to take her to the vet. The groomers paid for the vet charges. The staff was very kind and friendly dropping off and picking up, but I won't go there again... read more

Looking at all the 5-star reviews, it sounds like we are commenting on two different groomers!! However, I took my little Pomeranian to this same groomer today. Told them to NOT cut it too short - even showed them a picture of how I wanted it to look. Picked him up 4 hours later and they had pretty much shaved his hair off!! I dropped my dog off at 7 a.m. for bath, de-shedding, nail clipped & teeth cleaning. At 1:11 p.m., I called and asked when he would be ready. I was told around 2:30 p.m. At 1:27 (16 minutes later), I receive a call from Sherry's telling me he is too scared and they don't want to do anything. When I picked him up, he wasn't acting scared just anxious to use the bathroom. Just spit balling here, but I think they put him in a suite (as the receptionist told me) and forgot about him until I called. The receptionist offered another attempt on another day and I told her "Why would I trust you all again? That would be crazy!" Just to be fair, the people I dealt with were very nice and the receptionist was very apologetic about what had happened. But, see, apologies do not work here. My dog was there almost 7 hours. Nothing was done. No calls to say there were issues. Nothing until I called. Very unprofessional. Very discourteous. Very inconsiderate. read more

Normally I have very good things to say about Pet Styling with Sherry, my parents take their dog to get groomed and boarded there. The dog is less than friendly so I appreciate their patience and kindness with him. Because of this I decided I would board my cat with them from Thursday-Monday and I asked that they give him a flea bath when I scheduled his visit. They told me they would do it the day he arrives so the fleas wouldn't spread to the facility. Fast forward to Monday when my fiance picked up the cat they informed him that they were unable to bathe the cat because he was scratching and biting the groomer, and they didn't see any fleas on him. My fiance asked why they didn't call to let us know of this, the woman said that they didn't call because it was Saturday. This leads me to believe that they didn't try to bathe him at all. My cat is a Maine coon and has long hair you wouldn't see fleas just by looking at him. On top of all of this they didn't give us his food back. read more

They were friendly and had good customer service but they did not listen to how I wanted my Shih Tzu puppy groomed. I gave specific instructions as to what I wanted and they shaved her front and back off. I loved when she was fluffy and now it will take months to grow that back. They did not cut her face the way I asked either. I was afraid to try a new groomer and my nervousness was confirmed -- I will just have to drive an hour to a groomer I have always liked and suck it up. I took my dog in on Saturday, 6/2/2018 to have her groomed, she has been here before. The first time she was groomed it was just as requested my dog was happy and I knew she had a good experience. The second time she was happy to come in to be groomed, she was not groomed at all the way I had ask for--too short ( still winter and cold) and got a poodle cut--she is a mix with poodle but very small and not a good cut for her. I was assured they would put it on the file and this would not happen again. The third time I took her in she stopped at the door and did not want to go in, that should have been a warning to me but it wasn't. When I came in to pick her up I was given a "Report Card" , that was before they brought her out, On the Report Card it said there was a HOT SPOT or CYST that had ruptured and I needed to keep an eye on it. I immediately started asking questions what had happened did they hit the cypst with the shears? The Cashier brought out the groomer who had groomed my dog--she began speaking very fast and asking how did I like they way she looked did she do the right cut--I ask her to please stop and tell me what happened to the dog there was nothing there when I dropped her off. The groomer said that when she started on the dog she noticed matting and oozing around the tail---I explained that it had to have happened after I dropped her off, I knew of the cyst the Vet and were keeping an eye on this and I look at it several times a day. The groomer was adamant that I brought the dog in injured and matted. I explained that why would I bring a hurt dog in for grooming and not take her to the Vet? I paid and left. There were several conversations after I left the store manager. On Monday I took the dog to the Vet--I was told that there had been a nip to open the cyst, however, was probably going to rupture--I agree that there is no way anyone could have determined the timing of the cyst rupture. It did happen at the groomers and I was not notified, the groomer continued grooming an injured dog!!! On Monday the Manager did agree that this was not handled correctly and she was sorry--I am too--my dog was groomed while in pain and I was not given an opportunity to make the decision for my dog's well being. I will not go back here, too many young inmature individuals making decisions that are not theirs to make. read more
