This place is a joke. Had to come here due to poor planning on my end near the holidays. My dogs are very used to being boarded/groomed at places. I have been to Kennel Klub on several occasion to have my dogs groomed and had good service; however, I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. I called the week of Thanksgiving and ask for an appt for the following week. When I showed up for my appt on Friday, they couldn't find me in the computer. The receptionist told me to come back on Sat between 9-11 am, that they do "1st come, 1st serve" and to make sure I was there early. I got there before the door was unlocked. I was the 2nd person in line. I dropped my 2 dogs off, wrote ASAP on the sheet and ask that they call me about 30 minutes before they were done. At 3 pm I called them and asked when my dogs would be ready, she told me 5 pm. The receptionist called me back at 3:45 pm to say they were ready. I picked them up only to get home and find my dog looked like she had been crying and had a scratch on her eye. She wouldn't even do her evening walk. I took her to the vet on Monday. The vet informed me it wasn't a scratch it was an EYE INJURY, that the top layer of her eye was almost completely gone. Now several hundred dollars in vet bills for my dogs injured eye, an appt that got lost, being lied to about "1st come, 1st serve", I highly recommend you find some place else to go. fyi - the groomer was Marilis and I did call an inform them what happened. read more

Took my dog for boarding and upon picking him up he was frightened, wouldn't make eye contact, and was moving slowly. All total opposite from his normal hyperactive self. Upon getting him home, he drank water like he hasn't had water in days. Also, not sure what Kennel Klub fed him because the dog food we left was practically still almost full... he was there from Thursday to Tuesday. Our dog is also pooping blood and has been for two days. Called and spoke to Maria to request the owner or manager. She said Courtney wasn't in. Upon calling Kennel Klub again, Maria hung up on my husband. He called back again and the "owner" Michael answered. My husband told Michael that something happened to our dog and that he was traumatized and bleeding and that we wanted a refund plus pay for vet visit. Michael said that's happens to animals and said they weren't doing anything about it. My husband let him know we'd be posting a review, and he said he didn't care if we were posting a review. They burned one dogs paw using the nail grinder so bad he had to go to the vet and was put on antibiotics and pain medication. The other dog was cut on both ears. We took our dog to get kenneled for a couple of days while we went on vacation. Never and I mean never again. This is the second time we've taken our dog. The first time he got kennel cough, no one told us he was sick or that any other dog was sick but when we picked up our dog, he was absolutely sick. We absolutely gave these people the benefit of the doubt, but this last time was absolutely the last straw. We picked up our dog, he was half assed groomed, matted and still wet. They said our dog had gotten into mud, and also in his own feces, so they were forced to give him a bath and charged me for it. My dog was completely lethargic, would not eat for the first two days upon arriving home, and to top it off a broken nail. I didn't notice until I got home, but my dog was bleeding, and in what I imagine excruciating pain. Of course everybody denied any wrongdoing, and all I got was bullshit excuses. The heavyset blonde lady that always sits in the front, never makes eye contact, every time you ask her questions or voice any type of concerns she immediately gets into defense mode, completely worthless human being. . If you love your animals, please find a safer place for them. It pains me to know my dog was not taken care of, and was hurt, the guilt is tremendous. read more

On Tuesday, September 15th 2020 (date included for purposes of accountability, management actions), we dropped off our golden retriever for the deluxe bath package. All seemed fine at time of drop-off. When we picked him up, he wasn't acting himself moreso than expected. Upon further investigation, we were horrified to discover that his claws had been cut into the quicks (the neurovascular part of the nails), which is extremely painful and should ALWAYS be avoided. Furthermore, we paid for anal gland expression which was NOT done. Being charged for services that were not performed can be overlooked, but it is simply inexcusable that a place that cares for pets hurts them / provides services without knowing basic what-not-to-do's. Brought my dog for a groom paid an extra $10 because she is old and a nervous dog. Well I picked her up and her eye would not open...hour later it swelled up double in size her(the photo is from right after I picked her up) a $64 groom cost me an extra $360 vet bill and 3 hours in the er for them to tell me it was because she got shampoo in her eye. I paid for testing to get a direct answer and it was in fact the shampoo and nothing else. I have spoke with the manager already about this problem and she told me they use a "tear free" shampoo and they are aware.We are hoping she will not loose her eye which is a high possibility which is what the doctor told me. She is now on 3 different medications and feeling miserable. read more

You probably can't tell but this is a Mini Goldendoodle and a Aussiedoodle. WE ARE SO PISSED. we went in there to get them shaved down and they literally shaved them down. They said a 7 and like any other person would think we thought it was a 7 guard on the shaver and not one of them took the time to explain. After telling them and driving back to tell them that we were not happy and this is not what we expected they said they knew exactly what we wanted but it was a miscommunication. No one buys a doodle and tells a groomer to shave them this short all the way around and if there is a miscommunication take them time to explain to us what we are getting. Even when we take them to the petsmart groomer they explain to us what we are getting and even show a coat example on a board. A doodle is clearly a trimmed face with a shaved or cut short body. These people just say we knew what you wanted but we gave you what you told us because you don't know the "groomer terminology". After going back to explain how unhappy we were they never once offered a refund or a cut the next time we came in just continued to say it was our fault. $162 for a shave anyone else could have done for free. Not to mention they had us pay before we checked out and I gave them a tip because I expected the same doodle cut that is always given even if I say shave them down. Completely unhappy and will make sure to tel everyone with a doodle to avoid at all costs. Not to mention the cuts are uneven all the way around including long hairs all between the paws. Both of our dogs came down with Kennel Cough shortly after taking them to be groomed. $300 vet bill later, my dogs are still recovering and hacking all over our floors. This kind of condition is avoidable IF you have a clean water/food bowl and place to rest. What's sad is that this is the SECOND time they've exposed my pets to the cough. However this one was much worse. So, if you want to run the risk of exposing your animals to unclean working conditions, by all means go here, otherwise there are plenty of other competitors in the area that I'm sure care about the safety of your animals more than Kennel Klub (Cough) has shown mine. read more

Upon drop off the tech's were afraid to grab him to take him to the back a micro bully intimating dog of course, but then again why work in a kennel place if so much you are afraid of certain breeds. Daughter and I proceeded to help them I continued to explain to her (tech) what he needed. Her answer was yes I know. Here comes the interesting part the next morning we received a call from the OWNER supposedly she calls herself that, but in no way knows how to run a business. She called my daughter @ 8am the next day 3/11/23 letting her know he was unresponsive she found him unresponsive @ 6am, but she decided to call at 8am stating I didn't think I would get an answer at 6am. She was explaining everything they could do was done. In other words your dog has DIED so unsympathetic. Talking to us like it was no Biggy "oh sorry things happen". NEGLIGENCE plays a big part here we knew him so well. We have requested copies of the footage of that day with bunch of excuses very RUDE also speaks to you like a smart ass. She has had two weeks, and we still can't get what we requested as well as other documents. The word will get out I promise! it wont stay this way. There is a lot more to be said. read more

I hate to post negative reviews especially when its something that I can't 100% verify. But in a situation like this I have to just trust my gut. Its has been a few months but I can not at least share our experience in the hopes that no one else will have to go thru what we did. Milo, our 3 year old boxer mix, has been boarder here at Kennel Klub 2-3 times in the past with no issues. But this past May of 2018 there has been a change. Milo was in their care from May 3rd-6th. When we arrived to pick him up, they brought out the wrong dog. I actually have video evidence bc I just happened to be vlogging bc I missed my baby. The woman behind the counter exclaimed WHAT??! When we said thats not Milo. They go back and arrive w/ Milo who was so thin. He has lost so much weight his ribs were showing and it broke my heart. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and booked an overnight stay over Memorial Day weekend, and bc it was a holiday he had to stay 2 nights. When I picked him up, again he looked to have lost weight. But it was worse when we got him home. Within 24 hours he was very sick, diarrhea and vomiting, no appetite, no energy, and couldn't hardly hold up his own body weight. We get it, dogs can get sick, but like, how did this happen? He was up to date on his shots, and if he was in a clean kennel with no exposure to other potentially sick dogs this shouldn't have happened. But the worst part is, he has been crate trained since we brought him home as a tiny 8 week old puppy. Since his last stay at Kennel Klub, he will NOT get in his crate. We used to just say "Crate" and he'd go (occasionally he'd be reluctant but he'd go w/ a firmed tone.) Now if we tell him to go in his crate he will start to panic, he starts panting, and pacing, and will NOT GET IN! Something happened to him there, he is traumatized and I'll never know why or who or what. Like I said I can't prove anything but the behavior of my dog plus other's who have experienced issues has made up my mind. I will not be bringing Milo back to The Kennel Klub. read more

I've taken my dog here for a few years now because of my sisters recommendation. I will say that they prices for daycare and boarding here are unmatchable to any other place I have been. They do offer boarding, daycare, and grooming services. The one thing I don't like is that every time I pick my dog up from boarding he either has a cold or some sort of sore or bite. He gets regular vaccines and takes flea and tick medicine so there's no reason he should be coming home sick. I picked him up a few weeks ago and he had a huge chunk of hair and skin missing off of his leg. No one informed me that something had happened or that he had been knicked while being groomed. I have been using the kennel Klub daycare for about 4 years now since my baby was old enough to join their daycare. They have taking such good care of my babies, they update you throughout the day with Facebook pictures and even sometimes report cards at the end of the day . I absolutely love everyone there especially miss. Jordyn . My dogs adore her !!! I trust her with them and if they get in trouble she handles it and puts them in time out just like I would . This facility doesn't even deserve 1 star! Been an animal lover my whole life. I been quite but it's so frustrating to know The Kennel Klub on Highway 6 murdered our animal. How can a 3 year old healthy, well fed dog with NO medical issues go into a boarding school for training for 3 weeks and never make it out alive. Our dog died of a heat stroke in 88degree weather with his body temp being 107.3 and admitted severely dehydrated.. If you live in houston/Katy/cypress area I'm warning you to not allow your animals to attend this facility. They lie and trying to cover up his death. Share and spread the word. read more

I highly recommend The Kennel Klub. This is by far the best doggie daycare facility in the Northwest Houston/Cypress area. The staff is very friendly and professional. They do little events like Christmas parties, Halloween parties, and other little events for your fur babies. They also take a TON of great pictures and post them on their face book page so you never miss a moment, and give you a "report card" to show how they did and what they did that day. Around the beginning of 2016 is when I started taking my baby Troop'r to The Kennel Klub. He was so excited to walk into the facility every time I dropped him off. Before The Kennel Klub, I did try taking Troop'r to a couple other daycare facilities in the area, but he did not like going back for some reason, its like he thought he was being left at the vet, and he absolutely disliked going to the vet. Dogs have a very good judgement of where they like to be or who they want to be around, and The Kennel Klub was the only doggie daycare facility that Troop'r was comfortable going to and would just get super excited when we pulled up to the building because he knew it was a non-stop play day for him. Sad to say, I no longer have Troop'r, but I do have Gunner and Red now and they both share the same excitement that Troop'r did every time we pull up to the building, and never fear getting out of the vehicle to go inside. They have so much energy and with me being at work all day its nice to let them play all day and de-energize while I'm at work. It really is a safe and happy place for them and if your looking for a doggy day care to leave your fur baby at, whether it be for the day or for the weekend, this is the place Im most comfortable leaving them at. Thank you Kennnel Klub for keeping our fur babies so happy. Also, if your looking to get your pup trained, I highly recommend Freddy. I signed up Gunner for training with Freddy and he did a great job working with Gunner and showing me how to continue his training. He is very patient and knowledgeable. They charge $60 to cut/shave and bathe my dog Rocky. Rocky is a mini Schnauzer but he thinks he is a bitpull. He doesn't like anyone touching his face and will attempt to bite if you mess with him. He definitely gives his groomers a hard time and a good run for their money. He is a handful, however, they always seem to give him a nice cut and handle him very well. I usually drop Rocky off at 9am and they call me around 11-11:30am to let me know that he is ready. I'm happy with their work, their prices are reasonable and they always seem to take care of my requests. read more

TL;DR -- Run, don't walk, away. Any reservation to this place risks their horrible customer service derailing your vacation. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Absolutely terrible customer service nearly ruined our vacation. Fearing that reservations would fill up quickly, we toured the facility and made reservations for our three dogs for the Thanksgiving weekend. Knowing that we needed to drop the dogs off early, we clarified at that time when drop-off was and were told any time after 7AM (the time noted in signage in the store and on their website). Since we needed to be to the airport by 10, that was perfect. We would not have made reservations if drop off was later, because it was impossible with our schedule. We called the week of to make sure that they still had the reservations, just in case, since we made them so far in advance. At this time, no mention was made of a changed drop time. We pulled up at 7:30 to find the doors locked and a sign taped to the door saying drop off would be at 10:00 that day. The lot was full of employee cars, and someone opened the door to talk to us. She passed us off to somebody else who was legitimately the worst customer service representative ever. She scolded (and I do mean rudely scolded in a condescending tone) us for not knowing the drop time, saying that the note had been on the door "for a while" but definitely not when we made the reservations, and further if she helped us out, she'd have to let everybody check in early despite the fact that nobody else was there waiting. This left us having driven all the way over there, three dogs in the car, and scrambling to find any place for them to stay. Luckily a good friend changed their own holiday plans to help us out, but this horrible kennel nearly ruined everything. The owner of this place should be ashamed of such terrible customer service. The least they could have done, with staff already there, us having a reasonable explanation for the update drop time which had not communicated to us in any way, was to make the single exception and check us in. I feel this is especially true as we explained our timing predicament to them. The egregious lack of either professionalism or even basic human compassion a business best avoided.WORS read more

This place is great! We recently hired their dog trainer Andres for an in house dog obedience course and are completely mind blown with the results. We have struggled with our French Bulldog / Boston Terrier mix socializing with other dogs while on leash and being comfortable with people in public, and Andres has helped us make huge strides in correcting this behavior. It all began with coming to our home to make an assessment and coming up with a plan to address our specific needs. By the end of the course our dog Cash was interacting with dogs he historically had negative interactions with (while on leash) and was letting strangers pet him while we were out in public. We attribute this to him being able to identify the root cause of our issues and explaining training techniques in a way that was easy for us to understand and execute. They've been sold. I made an appointment to drop Mason and Moxie off for a few days over a business trip. Arrive when they open at 7:00. No one there. 7:30. No one there. No one answers the phone. Appears they have no night staff as no one answers the back door. 7:45 one of the people waiting reveals they are an employee and the new manager took all the keys, so even she can't get in. If they can't trust their staff, I can't trust my dogs to them. I called another place and made arrangements and took the dogs there. When I got back I called and told what happened and asked to speak to a manager. I was told to call back the manager wasn't there. Now most places who actually conceive of customer service would take down you name and number for something like this and call you back. Never heard from them. It's too bad when a new owner takes a place downhill so fast. read more

Two weeks prior to boarding him at this location, we boarded him for the very first time for a weekend at a hospital. We picked him up and he was happy, looked a couple of years younger and smelled amazing for about 3 days! Since we thought he had adjusted well to being boarded, we picked this establishment to board him for a week due to location and offerings of a large suite room. Our only mistake was not reading reviews about this place. We payed for a large suite with television and also paid for a bath on pick-up day. We HIGHLY DOUBT that our poor dog received ANY of these amenities. On pick-up day, he wanted to LEAVE immediately. He was FEARFUL and acted nothing like himself. He SNAPPED at us as if he was afraid we were going to hit him. He did NOT smell good. He drank so much water at home showing us how DEHYDRATED he was. We felt so awful that our dog had to stay at this location for a week. This place is not to be trusted with your animals. So...PLEASE DO NOT BOARD YOUR PETS HERE!! read more

I will give 2 stars as I generally had 'OK' experiences here over the last 3+ years. Boarding your pup for an extended time is hard enough, but when the boarding facility loses your dog, that's even worse. After a 5 night $130 stay, I arrived to pick up my little one, only to have the wrong dog brought out. I said I do have a beagle but this one isn't mine. The employee helping me repeated Bailey's name and mine and said well this is the dog that was in the kennel assigned. She then called another employee over, again, said well this is the dog assigned to your file. It was not until I showed them a photo of Bailey that it seemed they believed me. They then disappeared to the back for about 3min before coming back saying "She was put in the wrong run so she hasn't received her exit bath. Do you have about 10 min?" As you can imagine by heart was pounding. At this point, they had not apologized. I declined the bath as I just wanted to take my pupper and leave. They finally apologized, I responded that it was inexcusable to which a tall dark haired gentleman said "well there were 4 other beagles in her row so..." I cut him off again saying it was inexcusable. I know mistakes happen, but this is your business. And you didnt even try to make it better. Had I not had to convince them of which dog was mine and had they not tried to make excuses, this review may be different. I know the whole furbaby thing is clichè but it's true. read more

My husband and I boarded our dogs at Kennel Ub several times. The dogs seemed happy. There was one time when they obviously cut my dogs hair but tried to deny it. What I really want people to know is that my dog got seriously hurt at their facility. Not only did they not notify me when it happened but after I confronted them the manager said she would interview employees and check the cameras. I had to call a couple of days later to see if they found anything and I was told they were still looking in to it. They have never called me back. Last time my pets were there they got kennel cough. Now having said that, they were not given their kennel cough vaccines nor is it required. This is more of a tip if your pet is older and has any health issues as kennel cough might be more serious for the older/weaker dogs. If they are going to allow dogs that are not given kennel cough shots, they should make sure dogs do not come in with it. Price for boarding are good but their bath prices are not. Quite a bit higher than Petsmart just for a bath and brush. They are open on Sundays for pick up which is not easy to find and a big plus for travelers. You do not have to pay for Sunday if you pick up before 2 pm I believe but your dog will probably just be sitting there for who knows how long. When I pick my dog up on Sundays before the extra charge, they use the restroom like they haven't in a while. That makes me think they have been sitting in a kennel since Saturday afternoon, almost 24 hours! Not healthy at all for a dog. I now have pet sitters come to my home. read more

When I went to drop my dogs off, no one even acknowledged that we were there until a guy finally looked at us and said he could help us. We dropped them off and were on our way. We were only planning on leaving them there for one night but unexpected things happened and we were too late to pick them up before we closed. No problem, we'll just pick them up in the morning. Went to pick up my two dogs and they were closed for Labor Day. Also understandable. The only thing that made me upset was the fact that there were no signs posted before hand and no one told us. I even went to their website to see if there was any indication of holiday hours but there was none. I work at a place that is time sensitive too and we are also closed on Labor Day. The difference between me and them is I TOLD EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER THAT WE WERE CLOSED ON LABOR DAY. So now what was originally supposed to be around $50 is now $113. Great. We have used their grooming and boarding services for years, love them. But recently, I got a Dalmatian puppy for a gift!! She is adorable but was out of control. She was chewing on everything, even the walls of our new house!! I got the In-Home training and it was AMAZING!! She has learned so much and I now enjoy taking her for walks. She learned Sit, Stay, Heel and Come. I cannot tell you what a difference. We added our older dog to our training sessions that I could not walk because he pulled so much. I brought my dog in to have what another "groomer" did corrected. The staff was friendly and very informative. I dropped her off at 9 AM and she was ready to go before 1:00 PM The results were AMAZING!!! The cut was exactly what I wanted, her coat was tangle free and very well conditioned. My groomer/boarding place was bought and now under new management and after 10years the once great service I was accustomed to was no longer. So my search for a new pls e was on, I drove passed this place daily and often thought of taking my babies there BUT was reluctant to try them just because I'm picky!!! One of my coworkers said she boarded her dog and like the place so I decided to try them. The staff is so professional and understands your pet is part of your family! imma keep this short and simple but i came in for a quick emergency haircut for my maltese (gucci) bc he was severely matted bc of quarantine. so i brought him for the first time bc it was right across from my apartment i could literally walk and i told them that he probably would need to be shaved but to try to leave as much hair as possible (to be fair he was really matted) so they took him for a cut and bath. i came back hours later and he was literally SHAVED TO THE SKIN. not even a cute cut. he look naked. completely unacceptable it was uneven and he didn't even look like him self let alone a maltese. he's had to be shaved before bc of his hair being matted but never like this. so anyway i pay the $84 bc it's hair it'll grow back and shaving him was probably the only way. a couple hours later i quickly realized that gucci just wasn't himself, shaking, trembling, crying, always wants to be held, won't lay down, not sleeping with me, sleeping/laying in his kennel (which is very out of character), can't sleep at all. idk what happened but please don't bring your dog here, he has never acted like this before he can't leave me alone at all. he's sceard, cold, he's most likely traumatized. they probably wasnt gentle and were mean to my baby. please do your dog the favor. btw gucci is getting better by the day read more

My 90 pound dog loves the staff and enjoys the facility at the Kennel Club. Pet boarding 3 times recently and each time he goes in and comes out a very happy. During a week-long stay I had him groomed right before I pick up time. He came out with a happy full body wag nose to tail and a very fancy proud look on his face. This is a 90 pound dog that normally hates baths but loves it when he gets the grooming treatment at the Kennel Club. A note about YELP Turned off by yelp. Write a great review, then another. The first locked up, the second disappeared. Reported Yelp to The Kennel Klub. Yelp is just not worth the trouble some days. Today was bad and YELP's online support us hard to find or reach. Wanted to write a Best Buy and two restaurant recommendations as well. Yelp's service has a glitch for Android and laptops. Verizon broadband and Comcast Business Class internet are generally always working. Yelp is my only online issue. All other services are working properly. Yelp always worked before on my service and when I teach friends how to use Yelp on their phone/PC. Can no longer recommend Yelp. Sad because my vendors are missing out on the reviews they deserve and the service they are paying for every day. But we love the Kennel Klub. read more
