While I have several great vets, they don't always have the time, experience, or a new concern arises a few days outside our appt window. The staff here knows us, and they've spent so much time just talking things out with me--from food choices to most recently figuring out how to protect her paws from further injury after rupturing ligaments in her hind toes from high dose prednisone. To actually spend time in a conversation is comforting when there are so many medical complications. I love that since Molly is trusted off lead, that when the store is empty she can wander around and be herself while we brainstorm. At the height of treatment for meningitis, when prednisone and chemotherapy were wasting her away, this was the one & only place Molly would go to and wag her tail. If not behind the counter waiting for more treats she wanders from sniffing the furry animals up for sale/adoption or is down the treat aisle with a tennis ball. Prices are the same, if not better than big box stores and they have treats that I don't find elsewhere. Our current favorite is St Rocco's Beef & Pumpkin. They are kind, patient & knowledgeable It is a fun and relaxing environment where they actually care about the needs of your pet. To have a small business last this long (55 years) is a direct reflection of their staff and customer service.

The store employee, Amanda, provided a plethora of information on each of the breeds. It was a wonderful sight to see that the playpens were minimally full at only two or three puppies in each and NOT indicative of a "puppy mill". The two tiny Cava Poos were just larger than my hand (see pic) and weighed under two pounds. They were so energetic and sweet but they come with a large price tag of $5000.00, which include a health assessment by a vet. Sadly, no discount for full cash payment vs plastic. The walls were full of carrying bags, necklaces, toys and clothing. Going to bring my daughter here to browse the puppies in an attempt to find a fun partner for her puppy, and try to negotiate the price.

I usually visit a larger chain store across the street but will come to pet supermarket too. I decided to leave a review for the one close by my home in West Boca after a recent visit. I personally have never had a bad experience at this location. Although a smaller store, they always seem to have my food in stock unlike the larger store across the street. that being said because it is smaller, they do not have as big of a selection as some of the other pet chains, but, they do have everything you need, including a good selection for both dogs and cats as well as small animals. They have a aquatic area as well as live animals for sale. On this visit, I noticed that they just installed a pet wash area too which is really cool. Typically the staff is attentive and even today the young gentleman who checked me out was super friendly telling me all about a new product that they were displaying at the register. However, I was somewhat disappointed because I saw another shopper and her young child excited about a guinea pig that they were interested in purchasing. I stopped to admire the little creature They were looking at and have a quick chat with them. They were enamored by the little guy and wanted the opportunity to get him out of the cage and visit with him. The mother asked one of the staff if somebody could take the guinea pig out for them. The staff was busy, understandably, with restocking the shelves as they just received a truck full of merchandise that was stacked throughout the store. So the young worker told the lady that they were too busy to help her with the guinea pig and that maybe she could come back later. I thought that was extremely rude and very disappointing Because this woman and her child were clearly excited about the guinea pig and we're probably going to purchase it. I told her she should seek out the manager or at least another staff member to ask if somebody could help her with the guinea pig. For me that was horrible customer service especially when you have a young child so excited to possibly be purchasing his first pet. When I was making my purchase, I even mentioned it to the young man who was checking me out, so I hope that somebody finally went to help her. Like I said, I've never had a problem there, but this was disappointing to see. Overall I've always had a pleasant experience at pet supermarket and will continue to visit when needed but hopefully they'll train their staff to honor the customers needs first so something like that does not happen again.

They sell small animals and offer grooming, dog washes, and offer pet adoptions. Their motto is "we speak pet". I have a lot of pets. Right now my family includes 2 dogs, 5 cats, 1 parakeet, and 1 rabbit, Saving money and buying quality products are my two top concerns. Given the choice, Pet Supermarket is not usually my first choice for pet supplies. I find them to be more expensive although they do have a loyalty program but they have a smaller selection of items. I was shopping in the 5th Avenue Shoppes when I passed by this store and decided to try and knock an errand off my list. On the positive side the store was bright, clean, and well marked. I have switched my dogs over to the refrigerated food like Fresh Pet. Unfortunately they only carry the frozen food and the rabbit section was quite small. I left empty handed although the store employees were happy to tell me where else I could shop to find what I need. It is sad when Walmart has a better selection of dog food than a specialty pet store.

After calling every local store, I came across Holistic Pet Cuisine and was grateful to find they carried the brand and type I needed. The store had an excellent selection of pet products, and I ended up grabbing a toy in addition to my dog food. The owner was kind enough to set a bag aside for me and she was just as kind in person when I met her. The next time I am in the area I will surely be visiting and supporting this wonderful small business.
