I don't know why the reviews are so low for this place, I went last night and Cat and her coworker (I realize I didn't catch his name) were amazing. We went in after 7pm and they were still so helpful. Cat helped a lot with giving me information for my betta and his tank. While we were doing that, her just as awesome coworker saw my husband and toddler looking at the ferrets so he brought the ferrets out for them to pet for a bit. Overall, they were really nice and helpful especially for it almost being their closing time. We will be coming here for all of our pet needs! read more

Great store to shop for everyday pet supplies, a big thing with me and my husband is the fish Dept they are 10 times better than PetSmart, they are way more knowledgeable about the fish and the aquarium products they carry, they actually have fish in stock unlike PetSmarts empty tanks or tanks with dead fish in them, here they have great tanks and very rarely every have any dead fish and I have never lost any fish that I have bought through them. Would highly recommend them over PetSmart read more

It took a min for help then the lady helped with the Betta I picked out he seem calm. He only lived two weeks , I did as I was told with channeling him into the conditioned water feed only twice ,clean water . My other fish on the same cycle but I purchased @ other location. Sad he must had been sick that's why he was so calm. read more

I love this store! I bought our 1st rabbit from them almost 1 yr ago and it has been such an amazing experience. Then for Christmas this year I wanted to get another rabbit pal for our bunbuns I called to see what they had and they said at selection was small that day they asked what I was looking for and I told them I was really wanting a lop ear or a fuzzy bunny. A few days laster my husband decided for us to randomly stop in to see what they had and when we got there they had a fresh pin of lop eared and fuzzy bunnies. I instantly fell in love with this one little fuzzy headed lop ear. He came right to us and has been the sweetest little guy. We have enjoyed these babies soooo much and they have been some of the sweetest little bunnies ever! While we were at the store I had the best customer service! They tool time with us they were very informative and helpful. I love this store a whole lot more than I do pets mart on chapel hill. Not a single cat collar in the entire place, even asked for help and couldn't find any. All they had were a handful of small dog collars that could probably fit, but they didn't have the tug and release like cat collars do so it was a choking hazard. Very disappointed because they usually have so much here and that's kind of ridiculous to have 3 aisles dedicated to cat stuff and not have a single cat or kitten collar in the place. read more

My wife and l have been buying fish here for about a year. So 8 days ago we went in and spent $90 on five fish. We woke up this morning and every single one of our fish were dead. We were told by the sales lady that they would honor their fish for over two weeks as long as our tank water was good. So i bagged the fish and took a video of us getting a water sample. So we get their and they test our water, which was perfect. They then proceeded to tell us they only have a 7 day warranty. So not only did they lie, their diseased fish killed over $400 worth of fish. We loved these fish' , we watched them grow from babies into full sized fish. Please people never buy anything from this store. They are liars and thieves. read more

Poor customer service. I was in there for 15 minutes looking around and no one came to see if I need help or had any questions.

My mother & I went in here for fish for my niece. We got 2 goldfish for 49¢ x2. The woman that got the fish for us was very knowledgeable about the fish. She really helped out. She even offered recommendations and answered my questions. At checkout I signed up for the VIP membership because we're soon to adopt a dog. The cashier was nice & helpful as well. Two weeks ago my husband and I went to Pet Super Market in Douglasville, there I saw this one Betta fish priced at 45$. I picked him up and he was in pretty bad condition. His fines were all torn and ripped up, and he just didn't look good at all. I felt bad for this guy, but no way was I going to pay 45$, nor did I have an extra tank. I went back to the pet store this past Tuesday (two weeks later) and the poor Betta was still there! Still sitting in that small little cup. So I went to the manager and told them how bad this poor fish looks and that I had seen him two week ago and that I was sure he had been there for a while. I ask if they can sale him to me for a discount. The manager agreed that the Betta was in bad condition and that he had been there for a while. She then told me they couldn't sale him to me in such bad condition, and that she would take him to the back to medicate him. Okay perfect! I went back yesterday ( Wednesday ) to check on him. I talked with of the employees and she said that the Betta fish has been there since December!!! Living in that small cup for at least three months. And I thought two weeks was horrible. I told the employee that I wanted to take him, but not for 45$, the employee took my name and number and said she would talk to the manager about a discount. I went back today and I talked to the manager myself. I told her I wanted the fish and that I was aware how long the Betta had been there and ask if they could give me a discount. The manager told me he needed another weeks worth of meds and whenever he was ready they would put him back on the shelf to sale. She then tells me that they wouldn't give me a discount. After talking to her and telling her that I was willing to pay for the fish right then and there, and that NO ONE was going to pay that much for a fish in that condition. The manager then tells me that she was thinking of buying the fish once he was better. I find this to be very wrong for a few reasons, One, you didn't care to medicate this fish until I said something about his condition. Two, I feel like if I hadn't said a word to them and just paid the 45, they would have sold him to me without any thought. Three, you had three month to care for and buy this poor fish yourself long before I was interested. They simply don't care about their animals and are more interested in making money. read more

I do like that they have a variety of high quality dog food. That's probably the only thing I like besides the lives animals. I wish they had more of a selection of fish (maybe saltwater?) the cat section is small, but they do carry some high end foods. I would honestly only recommend this store for dog food. It has brands that the Petsmart doesn't have. I feed my dogs Call of the Wild and a 30lb bag is around 52$. I will say that the price is average for a 30lb compared with dog foods of similar quality. My dogs have tried: blue buffalo, natures domain, wellness, and a few others and I must say Call of the Wild has been the best on my dog's stomach and I worry less about recalls (blue buffalo seems to have a lot). There never seems to be enough staff here. I would think there should always be a person working the register and one working the live animals and another manning the store at the least. read more

I have been going here since it opened, and have always been happy with the service and the products they offer. BUT !! Yesterday was a whole new experience. I went in to buy the treats my dogs love, and I couldn't find them. So I waited at the register while other customers were being rung up. The young lady was having a hard time because she was new. All the while the supposed manager was next to her on the phone. She Offered her no help. The girl finally got through the line, and came to help me. Oh I'm sorry, I'm new. Let me ask the manager. (Still on the phone) 10 minutes at this point. I waited. I decided to ask two of the other employees that were working. Oh I'm sorry, I'm new. You should ask the manager. (still on the phone). 20 minutes now. Finally she gets off, I rush over to ask her and all I get from her is, if we have them, next isle over, if their not there, we probably discontinued them. I'll check. 30 minutes now, and what does she do ?? She sends the young girl back to the floor and she decides to start running the register. While I'm standing there looking at her. I turned and walked out. Not a word from anyone. Total disrespect for me not only as a customer, but as a human being. PetSmart is further from my home, but at least they are always happy to help. They are friendly & helpful. They don't sell puppy mill dogs--very good, and only have cat adoption, I think, just on Sat. w/the vet visit [good]. They feature low cost vaccinations every Saturday--SUPER--THANKS! BUT they are like Petsmart in that they do NOT have ANY "good" prices. A small carton of liver treats there is over $3.00--at Walmart, the same thing is 96 cents. The lowest price small bag of food is $9.99. Something at Food Depot, Salmon w/no grain, and the same size is $5.95, and now, Dollar General has Rachel Ray and Purina One [same small size] for $5.95.Therefore, it's doubtful that their $5.00 coupon is "worth it" since one has to buy $25-worth to use the coupon. AND the clearance items are SO expensive that the clearance prices are not much to be excited about either. The phone number here is WRONG. If you call 411, select choice #2 [listed as Bill Arp Hwy].Pet Supermarket: YOU COULD BE A LOT BETTER--their is one good dog food brand which you could sell for a low price--it's called LASSIE!
