Loved this place! I had to come with my 2 year old and my dog for booster shots, and I was honestly dreading trying to handle a dog and a curious child in a veterinarian office. The team was great! They warmly preoccupied my daughter with a sweet cat that my daughter adored. They were also very thorough with the examination of my dog and reasonably priced. I have a cat who has diabetes and needs insulin twice a day. I work out of town a lot! So, I began boarding my cat here. Dr. Williams even takes her home with him. From the first time I went here, I had the "pleasure" of dealing with the Receptionist/Office Manager, Demi, who likes to give you other names. She talks to you with extreme condescension, annoyance, blankness, apathy and just plain rude. Any time I've called there and gotten anyone else, it's been a pleasurable experience; but quite the opposite when I have to deal with Demi. This office has a lack of communication problem with their clients. I went to pick up my cat and was told by Demi that Dr. Williams wasn't in yet. (He had my cat in his possession) it was 8:30 am--they open at 8:00 am, ok, no big deal, but a call to inform me of this would have been nice. I also expressed to Demi that I called 3x on Sat. (Within their hours of 8-12) and didn't receive an answer. She then, got very defensive with me and continued to say she doesn't know why I didn't get answered that she wasn't here on Saturday. I went home and came back later to pick up my cat when they called me that she was in. Dr. Williams came out and immediately began to chastise me! These are the things that were said by him: "Did you call and be ugly to MY employee?" "Let me tell you something, I've been practicing for 30 years and she's been with me a very long time and I've never had a problem with her", "Do YOU know what I go through to take care of YOUR cat?" "Do YOU know how much TIME I spend with YOUR cat?", "I think it's best we part ways--I can't help you--I can't have my employees mistreated." (I'd HARDLY say she was "mistreated" in the 1 min we were on the phone. He also said, "I DO NOT like to start my days out like this!" It was quite the reprimanding I received from him. I was in shock! I was so taken aback by this whole interaction AND also this is the first time I've ever met him and he's kept my cat now several times! He never apologized for his employees' (Demi's) behavior towards me and he never apologized for not being at the office on time. I felt I was treated unfairly, discriminated against and no longer trust this office with my cat if THIS is how he treats his clients who pay his salary. Avoid this place at all costs!! I had taken my Golden Retriever pup to this clinic for his neuter and it was a disaster. The staff was cruel to my pup right in front of me...dragging and choking him when he was too scared to walk with them to the back. They performed tests on my dog without my knowledge or consent and then charged me through the roof after the fact. I submitted a claim against them with the Better Business Bureau that they refuse to answer to. AVOID THIS CLINIC!! read more

Worst vet in the entire world. Words cannot express. I'm typing this with tears pouring down my face. Dr. Otto Williams and his staff at Animal Care Center in Smyrna kept my extremely ill dog overnight and failed to give him any fluids or pain meds. They didn't communicate anything with us until they were closing, and we had no choice to even pick him up. He was basically left to die alone. My mom and I rushed there the next day knowing our only choice was to let him go with the least amount of suffering as possible. Little did we know, he suffered there all night by himself. We went to say our goodbyes and have him put to rest, we stayed with him for about 20 minutes. We then let the nurse know we were ready, she decided right at that moment to let us know the doctor had left for the day, and that he would put him down the next morning. That we needed to leave because they were closing. WHAT? UNBELIEVABLE. I have never experienced such a heartless place. We said absolutely not and wrapped our sweet pup up and rushed to another vet. Thank goodness we found the other place, where the staff and doctor were incredible. As we were driving there, Thor (my sweet boy) pooped and peed, and we knew he was on his way out, struggling for air and suffering, due to the heartless doctor and staff at Animal Care Center. Once we ran into the next vet and into the room to lay him down. The doctor and nurse immediately ran in. Thor was gasping for air and in so much pain, we were crying, trying to help him through his last few breaths. The doctor then gave him a shot so he could pass quickly with no more suffering. They were absolutely stunned to hear that a vet of any kind would treat us, and our dog the way they did. I will do everything I possibly can to make sure everyone knows what they put our baby through. It was one of the most traumatic, heartbreaking experiences. I never want anyone else to have to go through what we did because of this cruel, joke of a "vet". From the bottom of my heart, please, please trust me. Do not think twice about taking your beloved pet there. read more

My wife and I scheduled to have our cat fixed and when my wife took him in, the vets office told my wife that the appointment was canceled and they left a message on our answering machine. My wife and I do not have a home phone, we both use cell phones and never received a voicemail. When confronted about their instructions not to feed our cat 12 hours before surgery their response was,:OH HE WILL BE FINE". I explained to her that the vet wouldn't be to happy if he didn't eat all night and showed up for surgery and it was cancelled. She didn't seem to care. BAD service. read more

Please avoid this place if you want good customer service and want to avoid pricing rip offs!!!! We have been taking my rescued miniature poodle there for a while and they go up on the prices without letting you know. They are only concerned about the money and the front desk will not return your call or have the doctor to return your call if you have questions. The techs and the doctor need to get the medication dosages right too, because if something happens, it's their fault. Called and asked about teeth cleaning and was told one price and called the next week and was told a higher price???? I am very unhappy and will not go back. Looking for another vet near me that I can trust. Would not recommend them. Only used them because of convenient location, but no longer care about that. They are cool with me! I have been taking my Rottie there for approximately five years now and we both love the place. The staff there are very friendly, caring and welcoming. I will say that one of the "newer" front staff workers did engage me in a condescending fashion on one occasion when I questioned her on some charges on my invoice. I thought the attitude and her manner of speaking was very inappropriate since my pet has boarded there quite a bit over the past few years and I'm a "regular" there but oh well. You win some and you lose some. I have not had many chats with the Vet however I am comfortable and confident with him taking care of my buddy. He's very warm and welcoming as well. They are a little pricey on the pet boarding rates especially since they do not have cameras to view your pet from an app while there. It would also be nice if they were open for at least two hours on Sundays to pick up your pet opposed to forcing them to stay another night but that's understandable as well. Maybe I'll bring it up those items the next time we visit! read more

I called on Tuesday 2/16/10 to schedule an appointment for grooming. The receptionist stated that there were no available appointments on Tuesday but I could bring my dog in on Thursday 2/18/10 for grooming. At that time no time was given for the appointment. So I go in this morning around 9:30 am and receive cold stares from both ladies at the front desk when I say I'm here for a grooming appointment. I was then told that there would be a $10 late fee charged for bringing the dog in after 9am. I stated that no one told me that I had to be there by 9am. They then said you have to take that up with the groomer so I said I will. When I got there to pick up my dog the total charge was $55 without anyone giving me a statement showing what the charges were for. So I asked what the $55 consisted of. The lady said $45 for grooming and the $10 late fee. I told them I wasn't paying that as I stated earlier that morning so she then asked if I wanted to speak with the groomer. She called Terrance and said he was downstairs he did not even have the decency to come up and consult with me about the issue. Per the receptionist he said the charge stands. So I asked for a copy of my dogs records and said we would not utilize the services of Animal Care Clinic again and to remove my information from the system to avoids receiving appointment reminders in the future.
