Huge store, warehouse like- covering many pets. I was there to pick up a few things for the arrival of my new puppy. Found an assortment of everything from collars, leashes, toys and food. Also found the prices to be way higher than Chewy and Amazon. Same stuff, higher prices. If I wasn't in immediate need I would of ordered it on line - and would of been able to buy a few more items. Super expensive, probably why no customers were in the store. Store was clean and neat. Well stocked and organized. read more

We love the Englewood Fl store. The people are very friendly and helpful and we can always find what we need. I bring both of my dogs with me while we shop and of course they love it there. The prices are reasonable and assistance is great! You can get all that you need for your pets, birds, rabbits and fish. You can even give you dog a bath. I highly recommend. We love all the improvements made after the hurricane. Great job! read more

Most of the items seem pricey. Aquarium fish and supplies being the exception. But dog treats and such are not reasonable. And the service is hit and miss. read more

Dropped in here, needing some flea spot- treatment for cats. There seemed to be no customers in the shop, and as I was in a bit of a rush, I started by simply asking the lady at the check out counter for directions. The lady looked kind of bored and dis- interested but pointed over to a glass door- cabinet just by the next register and I took a look at what was in there. The cabinet was locked, so there was no way to pick any of the boxes up to read about the functions, type of animal or what difference there was between the different brands. I decided to just choose between a couple of brand names I'm familiar with, depending on which had the best price. Here's the next dilemma- none of the products in the glass cabinet had a price displayed.. I asked the lady about pricing- she seemed bothered to have to walk around the register, to get to the glass cabinet and point to a price list hanging on the side of the cabinet. She could have just told me from where she was standing but..whatever.. I quickly decided on the product I was going to buy but, by this time, the lady had already returned to her register.. I called for her attention again and she, again, seemed bothered to have to walk "all the way" over.. She did, I got the meds and checked out. She was pleasant as she was processing my purchase but still, looked really bored and dis- interested. I think that the store is just fine, it's large and seems to have most stuff you would expect to find in a larger pet store. It spacious and clean so I have no issues with that. My only less-than-good experience in here was that lady, who didn't really seem to care about me being there, wanting something, perhaps needing some guidance, wanting to spend some money in the store or whatever.. I kinda felt like I had rained on her parade, and that she would much rather just be standing there, not really doing anything and I was creating "work" for her, forcing her to focus on something specific, move from her spot etc. Not really the welcoming I'd expect to get when shopping for a rather expensive product.. All is well, the product was great and the cats have no fleas- A+++. read more

Due to limited inventory I purchased a size XS for my dog and specifically asked at checkout if I could return it for a refund if it did not fit. Yup, keep the receipt. It was too small so I stopped by the next day to return it, with receipt in hand. At the register I was told that the person who does returns was unloading the truck. Is it that difficult to process a return that only one specific employee can do it? I could have waited but for how long? Instead I'll need to make yet another trip. Yes, they're local but not worth the lack of inventory and poor management. read more

We bought this lizard about a month ago.It was shedding when we bought it,I was concerned about not seeing the skin but the manager assured me that the lizard was fine. After it was done shedding, I noticed they had a big black patch on its head. Shortly after that there were more spots and bumps that were raising. They sold me a very sick lizard with a lot of problems. And when I called them they told me because it was after seven days,I can call an exotic vet. The sad thing is we didn't even know within the seven days because it was shedding and trusting the managers word on the pet. I'm a new iguana owner, so I did not know exactly what to look for but this guy is sick. The made their $20. Sale and could care less about this pet or the next one that goes in the cage. The lady told me they only disinfect every two weeks, therefore the next pet will get this and they will tell you sorry about your luck. Feel sorry for their pets. Will post picture of the lizard. Worst Pet store ever. Unbelievably foolish management. Have given these folks the benefit of the doubt twice already. Have had problems with things as simple as buying dog food and kitty litter from these people. This latest problem buying a cat bed was the last straw. Won't shop there anymore. Cat bed marked down from $20 to $10. On top of that there was a sign at the front of the stocked cat beds stating "15% off." Thought my options would be 15% off the $10, 15% off the $20, or at least get the cat bed for $10 as it was marked. Nope, the manager rang it up for the full price of $20. I Asked about the marked price and the 15% off sign. I was told that there was no discount and he "could not sell it at that price." I asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager! Then he began getting loud, obnoxious, and started making a scene. I stood there quietly watching him meltdown. When he recovered himself he said he'd give me a 10% discount. I politely refused and left the store. I won't be back. On the bright side we now buy all of our pet supplies online for half the price that Pet Supermarket charges, and it's delivered right to our door; Dog food, kitty litter, and everything else. We won't have to deal with shoddy and abusive management or incorrectly priced items again. Do yourself a favor and skip the goofballs at Pet Supermarket and save time, trouble, and money and buy online. Dealing with the folks at Pet Supermarket of Englewood isn't worth it. read more
