Anita is a diligent care taker and I know my girls are in good hands when I am away. She has been very flexible with us in coordinating drop off and pick up times too. The kennel is extremely clean and my girls don't come back grimey and gross nor do they come home with that "how could you!" look so I think Anita creates a relaxing environment there. She is extremely compassionate, especially with my older lab who requires medication and can be really fussy about accepting it! Dogwood is a nice kennel in a quiet country setting. She charges a fair rate and gives her guests great service which is why we come back time and time again!

As far as being early for drop off or late for pick up- this woman runs a business and has a life- just like a hotel you can check in and out at certain times. Nothing wrong with that.

I witnessed a very…read moreworried woman holding her dying dog greeting the doctor in tears saying her world was crashing and he just deadpan responds with "yea. So is (dog's name)." Fees are hidden everywhere. If you're late for your appointment to euthanize your fur baby and ask for a quality of life exam first to reassure yourself you're doing the right thing, it still wont matter. You either euthanize then and there or you'll receive a late fee in addition to the exam charge. Or, you walk in with a sick dog and they charge you not only for the exam but also a walk in fee on top of an emergency fee. Zero communication skills. Concerns are minimized and dismissed with zero accountability or resolution.

He once got snowed in at the Kennel (due to the Erie Turkey Day blizzard) and came back happy but this summer he was suffering from the humidity as were we all. But despite his general grumpiness towards others, he loves everyone at Country Livin ----to our amazement . Their groomet did an amazing job fixing a disastrous scissoring job I had done in desperation to help him cool off (he is an aussie and he was suffering from the heat and humidity--I know everyone says to leave the undercoat but he was suffering and this was the right choice.

On the day of…read morethe appointment, I received a call saying they had cancellations and could see us earlier at 11:10 AM. I rearranged my schedule and agreed to come in sooner. I arrived at 11:00 AM, checked in, and noticed three other clients in the waiting room. After waiting for quite a while, I asked for an update and was told they had gotten busy and that I would need to continue waiting. There was no estimate given and no proactive communication about the delay. After an hour without being seen, I decided to leave. Before walking out, I asked if I could have my original 4:00 PM appointment back and requested that they not call to move my appointments earlier in the future. I was then told the next available appointment would be at the end of March. After rearranging my day at their request and then waiting over an hour with no meaningful communication, being told I couldn't even keep my original time was extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, I will be taking my pets elsewhere.

We have 2 Australian Labradoodles and if anyone knows anything about them they are definitely a dog that needs a groomer who knows what they are doing!! Missy took care of our first dog Lucy and wow was I impressed at the amount of time she spent with her and how much Lucy loves going there. When we got our second dog Tali, Missy recommended we start taking her early so she would get use to it. Both of our dogs LOVE going here and start whining as soon as we get close to the store. They both immediately try to get into the store and are always so excited to see Missy. I have recommended Creative Canine to any of my friends who look for a groomer. It is definitely worth our 30 minute drive. Won't go anywhere else!!!

It's important to contact groomers early, especially during COVID to help with scheduling. They only take cash right now, which was no problem for us. Their prices are amazingly on the lower end, for the end result that you receive. Jimi received a bath, anal glands expressed, full grooming all for $35. We have been in California where the prices are well over $50, before tip. They deserve a great tip each visit! It was great to have someone listen to what you want and do it exactly as you ask. I was able to send pictures and description to help. Our Jimi is not a fan of having the hair taken out of his ears, as now we were told. That's what I want to hear after a grooming, things that were tough for the groomer so I can let the next one know. Very appreciative of that. When we are back in the area, we would definitely use Pretty Puppies Grooming!
