You cannot be rude enough to walk into a person's house and then turn around and bash them for what you think is unacceptable. At some point, you have got to let it go. Kristina did nothing wrong and the former client's dog was not harmed in any way. There is only one wrong person in that scenario and Kristina is not it.

Today, Kristina texted me asking that I pick up my dog in 15 minutes. I arrived exactly 15 minutes later. Instead of meeting me outside as usual, there was no answer at the door. I waited several minutes while hearing my dog and another dog barking nonstop inside. I knocked and repeatedly called her name with no response. Because the door was unlocked and she knew I was arriving at that exact time, I became genuinely concerned for her safety and entered the home. I continued calling her name while standing in the doorway and while going down to the basement grooming area to retrieve my dog. I received no response the entire time. I then walked back upstairs through the kitchen and living room, still calling her name, until Kristina appeared wearing headphones and smoking a cigarette. Kristina became upset that I had entered her home. I explained my concern and believed we left on acceptable terms. However, shortly after returning home, I noticed I had been blocked by Lotus Paws Grooming on Facebook. A friend who posted a review describing the incident and my mother--who asked about grooming licensing--were also immediately blocked. I also attempted to leave a Google review but was unable to do so, as the business is not listed on Google. Given the blocking that followed, this appears to be intentional and prevents customers from leaving public feedback. The home and basement grooming area had a strong cigarette smell and was not clean. This may be a concern for pet owners who expect a clean, smoke-free environment. While the grooming itself has previously been satisfactory, this was a negative and concerning experience. The events that occurred today, the condition and environment in which dogs are being groomed, and the way concerns were handled afterward raise serious issues. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending this business to others.

The Friday before our wedding I dropped him off & confirmed we were able to pick him up Sunday evening. All the other places we looked at would not allow us to pick up our dog on Sunday we'd have to wait till Monday & pay for the extra day. Being able to pick up our dog when we wanted to was wonderful & they took such good care of him. For the price and the wonderful service you simply cannot best this place! Anita is a diligent care taker and I know my girls are in good hands when I am away. She has been very flexible with us in coordinating drop off and pick up times too. The kennel is extremely clean and my girls don't come back grimey and gross nor do they come home with that "how could you!" look so I think Anita creates a relaxing environment there. She is extremely compassionate, especially with my older lab who requires medication and can be really fussy about accepting it! Dogwood is a nice kennel in a quiet country setting.
