NEGLIGENT STAFF/ not safe for animals my boyfriend and I bring our puppy there almost every time we come, this time they got to the register to pay and next to the register and cashier was a CHOCOLATE COOKIE on the floor which my puppy went after and got ahold of. Following being home he vomited and had diarrhea for the next two days. We reached out and their manager Trey tried to blame it on guests saying "We can't control who drops things" and when I said that's like dropping a choking hazard at a day care he then replied with " Don't lay into me I wasn't even here, I was told to call and smooth this over" . The lack of sincerity is ridiculous. No customer is coming in with a singular chocolate cookie and dropping it by the register and the cashier not seeing it. First off you all work in a pet store and and to bring something toxic where a dog could get a hold of it? You all must have a break room???? Once I stopped driving past it and remembered it was down there in that strip mall,I've made it my go-to for my fussy BayBay's food and nip. When the website is working, I enjoy starting out my shopping trip from home and having an order paid for and waiting for me.. and if I really need anything in particular, I can call them and they'll get it ready for me. Need something special? They'll go out of their way to find it for you! Come in on crutches? They'll darn near carry YOU out to your car if you need it! I found THAT out last summer when I had my foot operated on and was stumbling around in pain. There's never a wait for help or check out,and they've helped me work out confusing online coupons and always let me return/exchange as long as I keep my receipts. This store has the most exceptional customer service and they are so accommodating! If they do not have something you are looking for they will order it for you which I have done on many occasions. I could have gone to another store to get what I needed but my loyalty is to this store 100%. The staff is so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to help you with any questions you have, they always have the answer to any questions I have asked and I feel that their prices are lower than the other stores. As far as pet stores go, this is the best in the area. The prices are better than the other stores and the employees are so much more friendly. The employees also seem to be more knowledgeable on the products in the store compared to other pet stores. To the person who found the dead Leopard Gecko at this PSP. Their distributors are the ones who are at fault for sending them sick and starved animals. There is no place to treat sick and starved animals there. The best they can do is send them home with a staff member who has experience with the species. If you were so unlucky to find a dead animal in the store, I'm sure that gecko wasn't in the store for more than a day. I've been going to this PSP for at least 20 yrs and have been pleased with the care they give all their animals. The customer service at this location exceeds expectation every time. This current time (3/14/2017 at 16:14) I had the pleasure of meeting Elmer as he was the cashier. I have shared parenting with my dog (Gunner) and I intended on dropping him off a few hours prior. This resulted in not having a food dish on me nor food to eat (which was the purchase today) Elmer was kind enough to allow my furry kid to eat his dinner in the warmth of the store prior to leaving. This store is awesome. I attempted going to PetCo a week ago for mealworms for my Box Turtle however 70% of them were dead and rotted. I always come to this store and it's 3 times further then they are to me so that's saying a lot. I just came in this week to get mealworms from you guys and Sean assisted me apologized for the 10 second wait I had in line and greeted everyone who came in, customer service is awesome. I used to like 'PSP'. In fact, i've been a customer for years. But not so much anymore. Lately, i've noticed them carrying old, often far expired dry dog foods, which was shocking to me. And this was on more than one occasion and visit. One expired 'Wellness' brand bag was about a year old! One full year! This is inexcusable, and downright dangerous. And of course, it makes for poor business with consumers. I've given 'PSP' (both North Olmsted and Westlake locations) my frequent business for over 15 years, but not anymore. I go to this location because of 2 reasons: it's close to home, but the staff there is awesome! I have a cat. A diabetic cat. So I have to watch what I give him and I am constantly reading labels. Every time I go in there I'm reading a label and the next thing I know a staff member is reading with me looking for acceptable things for my cat! I get 1 kind of litter and they didn't have it this week. So they called another location for them to hold it for me. My parents have 2 dogs and I buy items for them as well. Whenever I'm there the manager helps me to my car and loads my car for me! You're always greeted when walking through the door. There are vet clinics there every other Sunday for those that need animal vaccinations but can't afford vet prices. They have shelter cats. And they even ask before they total your transaction if you'd like to purchase a cat or dog treat to be donated to a local shelter. I've even taken food my cat can't eat and donated it to them. This pet store is clean, welcomes leashed pets and has specials often. The staff is nice and when it comes to asking a question about an item, someone isn't too far away. It is fairly busy on the weekends so I recommend going during the week. They have GREAT selections on ALL foods, from dogs and cats to iguanas and chinchillas. Toys and treats are in no short supply and leashes and other great little nick knacks for the small animals and birds are available too. The prices are fair and when there is a special the prices are very good. Especially when it comes to dog/cat food and litter. Other little items go on special as well such as fish and animals/lizards that they have there too. They DO NOT SELL dogs or cats, just fish, guinea pigs and little small animals/birds. Lizards and snakes are for sale there and there are no grooming services there. They have some posting for other services where you can go to get a good deal.
