I have not had great luck finding a cat groomer. One business that I used for a couple years…read moreclosed. Then a personal friend who is also a groomer isn't available anymore. Over the weekend, I called and left message for 5 different businesses, enquiring about scheduling an appointment for giving my Leo kitty a lion haircut. Only ONE business called me back - this one. I let them know I had no restrictions on availability all week. They said to come in on Tuesday about 9am. I brought in Leo in a carrier at my scheduled time. There were already a few other animals there. But, I was very surprised that they told me to come back at 3p to pick her up. Six hours for one 7 lb cat??? And this was the best possible date/time. I wonder how long it would take during busy times. The cost was affordable - $40 which seems industry appropriate. The lion cut didn't turn out as good as I hoped. It was very patchy. And although we talked about them keeping a bit of fur collar around her neck, they didn't do that. When I picked her up, Leo was huddled in a crate still pretty wet. I was underwhelmed by the service they provided. The grooming salon itself was unimpressive. The storefront was pretty boring. Not much decoration or color or character.

Overall was very upset with this interaction. I've been to petco's that take better care of their animals. I understand that animals come in and out of these places so "not giving them the most deluxe cage" for their temporary stay isn't a priority but I mean come on guys. All the bare minimums were not being met, and are now setting terrible examples for people who will go into getting these pets thinking they're going to be easy to take care of because they saw them in a tank with some seeds and a knocked over wheel, people will follow as they see. I mean if I get a response saying "please reach out to discuss further" like I've seen on every other bad review like mine just no, just do better, please, for the animals that don't have a voice. I then returned again within another 30 minutes because the smaller one also didn't fit. Despite both items being returned right away, I was only refunded $2.12 instead of the full $29.00 something I paid. I went back to the store and spoke with the manager, who told me to call headquarters. Headquarters was no help either. The store employee even remembered the entire transaction, yet no one was willing or able to correct the refund. It's frustrating that neither the store nor corporate support would resolve such a small issue. Customer service should matter more than losing a customer over $29. I'll be taking my business elsewhere where returns and customer concerns are handled properly.
