Very disappointed with my recent experience. I purchased a large dog donut cone and returned within 30 minutes to exchange it for a smaller size because it didn't fit. I then returned again within another 30 minutes because the smaller one also didn't fit. Despite both items being returned right away, I was only refunded $2.12 instead of the full $29.00 something I paid. I went back to the store and spoke with the manager, who told me to call headquarters. Headquarters was no help either. The store employee even remembered the entire transaction, yet no one was willing or able to correct the refund. It's frustrating that neither the store nor corporate support would resolve such a small issue. Customer service should matter more than losing a customer over $29. I'll be taking my business elsewhere where returns and customer concerns are handled properly. read more

I recently brought my dog to this Petco grooming location since our regular groomer is on maternity leave. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling uneasy about leaving my dog in their care. When I arrived, there was very little greeting or communication, and the staff seemed disengaged. I explained that my dog has a skin flare-up, which my vet had cleared as safe for grooming, and while I understand their need to confirm with a vet themselves, the interaction around it felt curt and lacking compassion. What bothered me most, though, were a few insensitive comments made about my dog's disability (he's a three-legged dog), which felt unprofessional and made me question how attentive or understanding they would be during his groom. I appreciate that the manager I spoke with was kind and professional, but overall, I left feeling uncomfortable and would likely not return to this location. Juan is the greatest groomer ever. This is my go to place for grooming and most treats. Pet supply plus for everything else.

Terrible service and unreliable. If you're even semi-late for an appointment, they won't take you back for your scheduled time. I called letting them know I'd be a little late and they said that was okay since they were behind schedule anyways. When I got there the staff was very rude and told me they wouldn't take my dog in because we were late. Do not recommend. read more

Took my dogs for rabies vaccination yesterday and it was awful! The Vetco clinic is just there to get your money. The vet, Dr Ashley Ketter, didn't speak to us. There were 4-5 people in scrubs, so I don't know which she was, let alone give answers to any questions she had... I did give my dogs' vet paperwork to them to review so I didn't think much of that at the time. One of the two has anxiety issues (both are rescues) and they wouldn't allow me to even touch her, so when she got really upset we were asked to put a muzzle on her (which I understand, but she would've been ok had I been able to hold her). She lost it when she saw the muzzle, so everyone thought skipping her was best and they moved on to my other dog... everything seemed ok until I got the email of his certificate. He was given a 1yr rabies shot vs the 3yr. This is a problem because 1, it messes up their vaccine and regular wellness visits (our vet is 3hrs away) and 2, their dog licenses (which will have expirations in different years). I was also emailed a prescription for flea/heart worm medication. I wasn't spoken to but you want me to buy prescriptions from you? Um, no. I called the "customer service" line and was told that I would have to make another appointment and go see someone to resolve it in any way... so the vet that messed up gets more of my time? Not ok! No matter what happens I'm without a paddle here and I totally regret stepping through the door. Learn from me and go to an actual office (not the corner of an overpriced store)! read more

I took my dog and gave him to the groomers Holly. He was with NO fleas and was in good health. when I picked up my dog the groomer Holly did not make me aware of the injuries of her mishandling my dog Holly didn't even notify the manager Troy or the supervisor on the shift. When I contacted the management team stated that if I take the dog to the vet and Petco will be responsible for the bill from the vet. When I contacted them today September 11, 2023 the groomer Holly who mishandled my dog falsified information to the manger Brian and the management team of the date of the occurrence. I gave them my receipts and versified again the date that the neglectful groomer Holly showed them was not honest. Holly had an unpleasant demeanor and I don't want her touching my dog again. I would like them to pay for the flea medication because my dog was placed in an area that had fleas. read more

This location is badly run. They don't make sure they're restocked and organized properly. The paper bags for the baked treats are never restocked. The clearance items and the 2 for 5 toys are mixed into one bin when they should be separated, so customers don't get disappointed at the register. The workers seem to do the bare minimum even when you try to get them to help you. If you have the option, go to another location. read more

This Petco is always super clean, and employees are always really friendly and helpful. The one downside to this location is I find they are often not stocked in the small animal department and sometimes only have a few bags of hay. (As a whole and not in regards to this location, Petco needs to stop selling small animal cages that are far too small for the animal!) read more

I've been going to this Petco for about six months both as a shopper (mostly for dog and fish supplies) and as a grooming client with appointments every three weeks. The store itself is clean and everyone is friendly, my only complaint is that the fish department is typically a little limited on inventory but that doesn't often impede our ability to find what we need so it's barely a complaint at all. Side note their clearance section is AWESOME. What I want to RAVE about is the grooming salon and my personal favorite person- Juan. He's super friendly and my dogs love him, he always does a BEAUTIFUL job on them and he goes above and beyond literally every time. He finishes everyone up in a timely manner and is super accommodating and just all-around a treasure. My dogs always look amazing and feel good after their time with Juan. I always mention him in the surveys that Petco sends to me after my appointments but had never thought to post a review before for some reason even though he's always stellar. But today was a little different. We shaved down my mini poodle mix for the first time in a while in anticipation of summer. He's been super floofy and I didn't realize how loose his collar was when I put it on him to leave the shop with all the extra hair gone. To be clear, the owner puts the collar and leash on the dog because they bring them out from the back in slip leads so it was 1000% my fault for not realizing how loose it was. Unfortunately my little booger slipped his collar and took off down the sidewalk while I tried to follow him and simultaneously wrangle my other dog who was feeding off of my panic and ended up wrapping us both around a pole. Thankfully my mini poodle mix started heading back my way after I called to him but ended up seeing something more important in the walkway going toward the back part of the parking lot behind the shopping center and headed off to explore in that direction. Meanwhile I was still trying to free myself and my other dog from the pole (keep in mind this all happened in probably 45 seconds but it felt like a lifetime). This is the part where I'm going to remain ever grateful and in awe of Juan and just how much he cares about our dogs. He'd seen my little guy slip his collar and came running out just as I was able to get my other dog untangled. He told me he would get him for me and came back with my little adventurer in his arms, I adjusted the collar so it would fit correctly and got him all secured and Juan even asked if he could help me get my dogs in my car. I was still in adrenaline mode and don't feel like I thanked him nearly enough in that moment or maybe even at all (I was also trying to put on a brave face and not cry) but I am so so grateful. I don't know if Juan knows this but my mini poodle mix got out of a gate at my old house and was hit by a car three years ago. Watching him run around near a parking lot and a busy street was my worst nightmare, knowing that he would not be lucky enough to survive this time if he were to make it out into the street again. My boy looks adorable because of Juan, but more importantly he's likely still alive because of him, too and that's even more important. Thank you so much, Juan. You're the best!! read more

How can you possibly say anything bad about Petco. It's where the pets go this is a very convenient location in has pretty much everything you can possibly need for your pet needs. They even offer dog grooming services along with dog training classes. One thing I want to mention on here is that they offer monthly low-cost immunizations for your furry friends as well you can find a variety of furry Critters such as hamsters mice sometimes even bunnies and ferrets and if I remember correctly they even offer cats that are up for adoption as well. read more

I have never really been happy with the PetCo in Eastpointe. The customer service is pretty much not there. I stopped in today to pick up some dog food and they are no longer carrying the brand that my dogs use. It seems all they want to sell is the premium brands. I have 2 dogs, 4 cats and they are all picky on what they eat and I cannot just change them. I will no longer go to this store seeing as they no longer want to cater to the animals that are not on the high priced premium foods. Also, the silly little rewards card, what is this for? Clean, organized. But I find that there is a varied customer service level. Some of the employees are very helpful and friendly. Others are not. Some go out of their way to help, while others are curt and short. I wish they had a daycare. I've never used their grooming services. read more

I was very upset with my pups haircut. I asked them to not cut her tail down her ears or the hair on top because we like to do ponytails. Whoever groomed her cut her hair on top all the way down and even where it looks like a tight fan at the top. I dont think I will come back to this location at all. It was a waste of money, which might I add is a lot for a small dog, and my pup looks crazy. read more

Went to Petco looking for some helpful advice. I've shopped there in the past and it's a convenient stop on my way home from work. I have 4 dogs... Have a dog recovering from surgery, tore his cruciate ligament, plate an 6 screws , ultimately he isn't going on his normal walks and must be on leash in my yard until healing is adequate. Long story short I wanted to buy some nail trimmers , asked a groomer for help, WHICH WERE THE BEST TO PURCHASE, she rudely told me she couldn't explain anything to me and said that's HOW SHE MAKES A LIVING AND SHE COULDNT TELL ME THE SECRETS OF HER CRAFT! ( her words exactly!) SHE REPEATEDLY TOLD ME TO BRING THE DOG IN AN SHE CHARGES 10.00 to do nails. I explained he's injured an his surgeon said no car rides , slipping on floors, etc. She said oh it's ok they'd take care of him. I will never step foot in that store or tell anyone to patronize that establishment. If someone is that rude and has no compassion for people in need of help how can you possibly be worthy of being around animals. I've been in retail 41 years . That'd be the day , any one of my employees acted like that to a customer. I left and happily spent my money elsewhere where I was treated properly. This location doesn't have allot of stuff as the other locations I've been to do. I will say the floor worker there was truly polite and forth coming to all my questions, that I needed answered, she was truly friendly. It sucks to say that because they need workers like that at the other locations, that they have in the area. However, I don't think I'll be a regular customer there, its WAY to over-priced with not much in stock and not accommodating to my pets needs. Sad to; that I live in the area, oh well...I guess. Bought a crested gecko and the guy who sold us the cage set told us it was perfect for her and it turns out it wasn't and it burnt our gecko and we called the store and the manager that we talked to was a complete ass and didn't care about our problem. I'm not a huge fan of this location. The only reason I go there is because it's conveniently located down the street from my work. Everytime I go there, a least one of the staff is outsideof the front doors smoking. The workers are rude and clueless and the girl in the grooming area just stands there and looks like she really loves her job. If you have questions and you're in a certain area of the store, good luck trying to find someone to help you. I think one person runs the entire floor and rings up customers at the same time. I do like that they offer the buy 10 get one bag free of Science Diet deal, but the price is a bit on the high end..I should get that damn bag for free! While the selection at this store leaves much to be desired, they do have the food that I need for my dog and cat. The staff here, however, are extremely awesome and what makes me want to keep coming back. I can't recall the name, but there is one ladyu with shorter hair that works here who is an absolute delight. She is friendly, helpful and always great to see. In fact, I go out of my way to look for her when shopping at this store because she has great stories to share and awesome advice for helping to keep our pets healthy and happy. If you're reading this, Petco, she deserves a big fat raise. :) read more
