I have been going to Pet Supplies Plus Haverhill for years as they have the higher quality pet foods and their sales are great. They now offer delivery but not as far as my house, so I get curbside pick up. I put my order in and rarely will they not have what I ordered. I most always can find a coupon code and they sometimes make a big difference in the total of my order. If something has changed with my order, I'll receive a call and everyone is always so pleasant. You feel so welcome and they're always so happy to help you. I may ask that they bring my order out to my car, but sometimes I go in so no one has to stop what they're doing. This store is located conveniently in the Market Basket shopping area, almost directly off 495. This is one of my favorite pet stores; I only wish there was one closer to my home. The prices are reasonable, with many selections. In my opinion, more selections than typical. Lots of food options, treats, toys, it's a dogs paradise here. Items for birds, fish, cats, and more also. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Every time I come in, someone says hello and can I help you find something. Most of the time I can find it because of being a regular visitor. There are always bargain sales in this store including big discounts on flea and tick meds - like K9 Advantix II, which is generally one reason I come here. Otherwise it is simply the convenience of the location and parking that makes the visit helpful. I highly recommend you come here for a visit at least monthly. read more

In short-there was a lot of dead things. Strange experience, first time visiting the store today. The store appears spacious, clean, tons of merchandise and many brands. I was looking for a new beta fish with my kids. They discovered at least 5 very dead betas, and I found two more that staff obviously knew about: I pulled off of the shelf a beta "hammock" (tank decor) and what was behind it? Well, 2 cups each containing a dead beta fish of course; where else would you keep a dead fish (besides on the brightly lighted beta display on a Sunday afternoon)? It gets stranger: On the side of me was a lizard display where a mother was looking to purchase a lizard for her young child who discovered a dead lizard. The mother called staff over and 2 apologized to the parent and child "for having had to see that". I told them how there are also several dead fish in front of me and my kids, and one staff member nodded and replied "ah-huh" and walked away as I said, "People bring their kids here to pick out an animal and they find dead things..." my voice drifted off and stopped since I (and fish bodies) were being ignored. Juxtapose this experience with when you've found one expired yogurt at Whole Foods and the manager was horrified and practically called for hazmat cleanup to remove it at once, but dead fish on display at this pet store is treated like a norm you should just deal with. Never again. There's a guy who owns a smaller pet store in Pelham called Northeast Discount Pets. Very nice, attentive, and gratefully accepted my $135 in fish and dog products. Oh, and he had only live fish - Yes, fish can be delicate and die more easily than us warm blooded mammals, but 7 found in one visit + a lizard means that there are issues with maintaining their health as well as checking up on them to remove bodies or sickly ones to care for our back. Even store bathrooms have a checklist for staff to initial when they've cleaned it every hour or, so why doesn't live animal displays at this store have a wellness checklist? Something is severely lacking here when patrons are discovering bodies before staff! I don't even witness this kind of thing at pet store chains. read more

After going to Plaistow's Pet Co and being appalled, I decided to visit Pet Suppiles in Haverhill. What a difference. Employees were very polite and all were wearing masks. There were plastic barriers at every register and more than one register open so customers didn't have to wait. The store was clean, well stocked and organized. When you're traveling alone for work, there's always time to kill in the evening. So, after dinner one night, I stumbled across this Pet Supplies Plus. As soon as I stepped foot inside, I could already tell that this store was superb. Bright lights, clean floors, and easy navigation throughout the store, were my early clues. Being a fish fanatic myself, I shot right over to the fish and aquarium supplies. All the shelves were stocked, prices were clearly marked on everything, and it was all organized. Getting to the end of the aisle, led me straight to their fish on the back wall of the store. What a display! All the tanks were immaculate...and that's generous. No algae on the back of the tanks, on the glass...nowhere to be seen. Incredible. On top of it all, they had tips stickers around the tanks - don't overfeed - consider how big the fish will get before you buy - run your lights for 6-8 hours per day This place just kept on wowing me...I couldn't believe it. Especially for a chain place. After I looked at all fish stuff, I went through the other animal aisles - no bits of dog food on the ground, no empty shelves, nothing. Once I decided enough was enough, I went through the fish supply aisle heading to the front of the store. I noticed some fish bowls that I didn't see the first time....my jaw hit the floor. Such a great pet store selling something they shouldn't. With how well this place is run, they know better. Left a tiny bad taste in my mouth. Overall, the cleanest, and most organized chain pet store I've ever seen. But, get rid of the fish bowls, guys...c'mon. read more

This store has the a super friendly and casual shopping atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming and helpful but never overwhelming. They are knowledgeable about the products carried in the store and seem to genuinely care about you and your pet! We had a cat with a sensitive stomach and the staff here helped us to pick out a new cat food that could help. It didn't feel like we were being sold a fad or the most expensive brand- just what made sense for our cat. The company's "neighborhood" values really stand out at this location. Since petco is eliminating their "junk" cat foods, such as fancy feast, ive had to find alternate pet stores to shop at. (Yes, I would rather be feeding my cat something better but he's picky-and that's another story).. this store does have s great selection of food, and great in stock condition. I am wary of returning though.. Last time I was in, they only had ONE roll of receipt paper that they were sharing among TWO different registers (throwing back and forth to each other). It took FOREVER to check out- and the receipt tape was almost out so I don't know what they were planning on doing with the rest of the line after I left. Yes, things happen but really poor planning on their part. I didn't even want the receipt so I basically waited 30 minutes in line for nothing. read more

Up until recently I have had a good experience at Pet Supplies Plus in Haverhill. I have purchased well over $350 worth of dog supplies since March 24, 2018 including a $57 purchase today. The staff has always been friendly and helpful until today. After my $57 purchase today I complained about a dog dish I felt was defective that I purchase backed on March 24th, instead of making a customer happy over a $15 purchase I was told that is how it was design and there was nothing they could do. Tomorrow I will be returning 2 of the pricey items from my purchase today and repurchasing the exact same thing on Chewy for half the price. Will I buy from Pet Supplies Plus again? Probably when I am in dire need. Just a note about Chewy, I purchased an exercise pen from them that I found I could not use. Not only did the refund me my money they had me donate the item. The MSPCA now had the brand new exercise pen. read more

I noticed a significant difference in overall price - way cheaper- compared to some other chains stores in the area.
