Upon arrival, the kindness continued and he was very helpful and knowledgeable on the proper length for Kolby's mane. I really appreciated this because he cut Kolby exactly how we I wanted (we do not do the traditional cut on him). I was initially worried about my fur baby because he gets extremely anxious, but, I felt comfortable once we were able to discuss things. The appointment took the standard amount of time, so no complaints there. The checkout process was smooth as well. Overall, Kolby looked like a new furman! They immediately take her for the vet to look at the hot spot and shave it (which they don't tell you costs $80) without any informed approval. Then they say she has two ear infections and after taking her to a different vet they confirmed she only has one the other ear is fine. Then they come in for a heart worm test that they also don't mention will be $75 dollars. After recieving an almost $800 bill for the visit they gave no print out to tell me what it was all for. I had to go over to the vet techs computer after she expected me to blindly pay and tell her what I wanted her to take off the bill that we definitely did not need. This got the bill down to $440 which she told me would include our vaccinations that we had come for. Little did I know she took off the vaccinations without my knowledge so I paid $440 and didn't even get the vaccines that we came for. Needless to say I left with nothing that I had come for and a bill of $440 that they couldn't account for and I would not bring down. Even after calling and one of the workers telling me they would reduce it by $290 which they did not honor. Unless you want to be conned DO NOT go here. I truly believe they are making up infections and other issues to make you pay more for medications and services. Not transparent in their pricing and no one could tell me the truth of what I was paying for.

We took our dog in for dental cleaning and her annual visit with shots + blood work. As part of…read morethis, we were also asked to bring in a stool sample for a heart worm test. She is a very anxious girl, so we asked for them to check out a lump on her hip and clip her nails while she was under anesthesia since she already had to be sedated for the dental work. We provided 2 stool samples. When checking out, we noticed a receptacle for something in the discharge bag and asked about it. Only when we asked, they told us they accidentally threw out both bags of our dog's stool and so they did not perform the test, but we could collect another and bring it back. We noticed her nails had barely been cut, which would be understandable if she were awake and resisted. But for being under anesthesia, they should have been able to do a really nice job with her nails. We also asked the vet if she had been able to look at the lump on our dog's hip, and she said she couldn't find it. Turns out she was looking at the wrong hip, so she came back out to look and of course our dog was afraid so she was barely able to look at the correct side - again, the reason we asked for it to be checked while under anesthesia. All of this cost over $1000, which would be reasonable if it matched the care provided + what we were charged for. We went to another vet recently, and they were able to clip our dog's nails really well while she was awake using a swing without any problems and they quickly identified the lump on her hip without us even asking. I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because they are very nice people and seem to really love animals. They provided timely updates about how our dog was doing. But we would not take our dog back to CityVet.
