E-mail Dr. Jana Bryant refusing to provide service to my pet
Brigitte V.

Do not take your baby here if you truly love them. -The first day we went there they were very nice of course but after a few expensive and pointless visits the doctor wouldn't speak to us at a visit let alone over the phone. Staff is dismissive condescending and rude. I have been trying to talk to the doctor for several months, calling several times a week and no one has ever called me back and the doctor will never talk on the phone, the only chance you can actually speak to the doctor is the first visit and after you pay 69$ to physically bring my pet, who btw has bad anxiety when she gets in their facility and they know that and still won't talk with me over the phone. My dog was on thyroid medicine before we even started going there and the doctor only refilled it twice (at the first visits) and then took her off it cold turkey even though I didn't want her to and now that my dog is in extremely bad shape and needs her medicine back the receptionist (since Dr. Jana Bryant doesn't talk on the phone) told me the doctor won't talk to me unless I pay $69-which i cannot afford at the moment- to refill my dog's prescription. If anyone knows any vets in irving area who honestly care please contact me, my doggy and I will be forever grateful This was their response: CityVet - Las Colinas (Owner) 6 hours ago Brigitte - we do care about pets, and their people. Unfortunately, we are not able to prescribe or re-fill meds without a current exam for the presenting problem. While we are happy to answer questions when possible over the phone, the list of questions and concerns you presented are unable to be answered without physically having your pet in the clinic to ensure a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. We would be doing you a disservice by prescribing meds for what you assume to be the problem. We wish you the best in finding another veterinarian and we're sorry that you've lost trust in us. -then they emailed us (see pic) saying they will no longer provide services for my pet. According to the amendments I should be able to state my opinion with freedom of speech without having my dogs veterinarian banning her from their hospital. My dog did nothing to them and doesn't deserve this. It's just sad how the world is these days. Sorry this was long I just love animals

I left a 5 star review but after getting my baby back with a completely messed up face I take it back. I really liked this place but I expected more from them. This is after a neuter which is also overpriced but still went with him since I initially liked this place

I stopped by on Saturday, April 25th to tour this facility, as I need boarding for my dog for about…read moretwo weeks while I'm traveling for work and then heading to Europe. I had read great things online and came in genuinely hopeful. That quickly changed. When I arrived with my dog, Buddy, and asked for a tour, the receptionist initially told me I couldn't bring him inside because they didn't have his vaccination records. I explained that I had already created a profile and uploaded everything. She paused, said "Oh," and then changed the reason--now stating I couldn't bring him in because it might "wind up the other dogs." At that point, I didn't argue and put him back in the car with the A/C running, but it was disappointing. A tour should absolutely include seeing how your dog reacts to the environment. Inside, the facility felt dark and quiet, with most of the lights off. Aside from the receptionist, I only saw a cleaning staff member. The tour itself was underwhelming at best. There was no effort to engage--no questions about my dog, no interest in my needs, no explanation of their services or daily routines. It felt more like an obligation than a business that wanted my trust. She showed me the "Ultra Suite," which includes a queen bed, webcam, and TV. Unfortunately, the room looked unkempt--the bed was unmade, the blanket was messy, and it appeared it hadn't been cleaned since the last dog. For $155/night, that's unacceptable. She did apologize, but it didn't inspire confidence. Next was the "Deluxe Suite," which was significantly smaller with a basic dog mattress on the floor. It felt more like a kennel than a "suite." There was only one dog there during my visit, yet the odor in the facility was overwhelming. I couldn't wait to leave. After showing me a few rooms, the tour simply ended--no discussion of availability, no overview of care, no attempt to answer questions or build trust. It was awkward and, frankly, disappointing. I'm very glad I chose to visit in person instead of booking based on the website alone. There is no scenario where I would feel comfortable leaving my dog here.

I get it- they dry hair quickly, but mine is just super sensitive to them. A few weeks ago, I reached out to Furry Tails via email and explained my dog's fears. The gentleman (I believe his name is Jake) quickly responded and assured me that he understood and that he could offer a kennel dryer. I took her in today for her grooming appointment. Of course, she immediately put on her brakes (locked her legs) and I had to coax her into the salon. Thankfully, Jake was waiting at the counter. He remembered Verda Belle's fears and did his best to become friends with her by talking softly to her and offering a treat. Of course, she was making me feel guilty, but I also could see she would be in good hands. She was there about 2.5 hours since it took longer to dry her. He called when she was ready and when I arrived, he assured me that she actually tolerated it all well. Whew! She looks amazing! He groomed her as I had requested and she smelled great. It is wonderful knowing I have found a kind groomer who actually treats animals with gentleness and love!

First, the cost was unbelievable in the best way. The procedure ended up being literally one-tenth of what another vet had quoted me. I was honestly shocked -- but even more impressed that the quality of care was absolutely top-tier. Affordable and exceptional is rare to find. Dr. Garcia was amazing. She is cool, funny, and incredibly good at what she does. She made me feel completely at ease, explained everything clearly, and treated my dog like her own. You can tell she truly loves what she does. The best part? My dog ate the same night after her dental procedure -- which is huge -- and she didn't cough even once. That alone told me she was comfortable and well cared for. Seeing her recover so smoothly gave me so much peace of mind. If you're looking for a vet that combines skill, personality, compassion, and fair pricing, Valley Ranch Pet Clinic is the place to go. Dr. Garcia and the team are simply outstanding. Almost everything is practically double per line item in comparison to local vets (please note service dates as one is from 2021). They also quoted me $850+ for dentals. If you want a nice doctor that will take care of your pet this is the place but don't go in expecting affordability.

We have been clients of Riverwalk for several years and have entrusted them with the care of two…read moredogs and one cat. During that time, both of our dogs passed away due to old age, and our cat is now three years old. Throughout those years, our experience with the veterinarians and technicians has been consistently positive. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing quality care for their patients. The reason for this review is not the quality of care, but the clinic's prescription refill policy. When attempting to refill our cat's flea and tick medication through Chewy, the prescription request was declined because our cat had not had an annual wellness exam. When I contacted the office to understand the reasoning behind the requirement, I was told that the exam was necessary to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. However, I did not receive a clear explanation of how a routine wellness exam for a healthy, three-year-old cat would impact the decision to approve a medication he has been safely taking for the past three years. Veterinary regulations may require periodic examinations before prescriptions can be authorized, and if that is the case, I would have appreciated a straightforward explanation of that requirement. Instead, the responses I received felt generic and did not address the underlying question of why the exam was necessary in this specific situation. For many families, discretionary spending is carefully evaluated. Requiring an $83 wellness exam solely to authorize a refill of an established flea and tick preventative adds a meaningful expense without a clearly communicated benefit. While I understand the importance of routine preventive care, I believe clients deserve a transparent explanation of the medical or regulatory rationale behind policies that require additional visits and costs. My overall opinion of Riverwalk remains positive because of the quality of care they have provided over the years. However, this experience with prescription refill policies and the lack of a clear & logical explanation has been disappointing and has changed my perspective on an otherwise excellent practice. Note that this might be the case with all veterinary clinics

It has taken me several months to digest the horror that I saw and to decide how to review. There was a worker sitting in the lobby with a blonde long hair miniature dachshund pinned to the ground by her collar with the worker's foot the whole time I was there. This is humane "training" for a breed susceptible to esophageal collapse and IVDD? Disgusting. You can see in a large window to the right of the lobby with all of the small dogs. Around 20+ dogs in a small concrete room all agitated and barking at once. Many appeared in true distress. One small cot for an elderly dog. A girl went in to scoop all of the poop and did not interact with any dogs. I asked why no interaction and the response was "if you show one small dog attention they will all want attention." Why are the dogs having to walk through the feces and urine and not getting potty breaks? Heartbreaking. THIS IS NOT NORMAL OR ACCEPTABLE!!! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH, TAKE FULL TOURS, ETC.
