This year I usually placed the orders online, but then I noticed an issue where some cans are only available to be purchased only "by the case" and not as singles, even though they actually were available as singles in the store. I politely explained the issue and started ordering through the phone to get around it. Then one day, over the phone, a cashier who I'm familiar with was extremely rude to me and told me that no one else is having that online issue. (I was shopping there for so long and didn't realize the issue until a couple of years, so I'm sure others have just been assuming things are out of stock, when in reality they are not.) I tried to explain to him what the issue was, but before I could even start he cut me off while I was speaking and said he would take my order and when we were done just hung up abruptly. I had always felt that staff were friendly before, but the unwillingness to address or even try to understand this issue and on top of that be rude to me unprompted was just so hurtful. It honestly hurts so much after being such a big supporter of them for years There is an element of ableism to this story too. As they know, the reason I only do online orders and have a friend pick them up is because I'm disabled. Their unwillingness to try to understand or address the issue I brought up is an issue of accessibility. This weighs so heavy on me. I would have been fine if they had told me they were looking in to it, and can't fix this issue right now, but just to call them. But with the rudeness on this call, the cashier made it clear that they didn't want me to make call orders. This effectively means I have to stop shopping at the store. Also, the three different cashiers I spoke to on the phone over the months I was phone ordering were aware of the website issue I brought up, so to ignore it was clearly a Howl team decision, not just a matter of one cashier being rude to me. But I did have many positive experiences here, which is why I was so loyal. Back when I used to go in person, the staff used to help me bring my order to the car and pack stuff in my car because I was not able to carry things. Everyone was so friendly to me. I also appreciated how they encouraged masking throughout the pandemic. I used to love going in to this store! I appreciated their selections and it made me happy. I would like to add that there was another uncomfortable experience I had at the store which I ignored since it wasn't that hurtful, but it's worth mentioning in this review. As I said, I place very large orders, because I have three cats that only eat wet food, and this was the only place I got their food from. One of the cashiers (different person than above) started routinely making comments to me about how much money I was spending on cat food. It wasn't just once or twice, he made these comments on the order of ten times. Then, one day my dad was in town and came into the store to pick up the order I had placed online. This cashier made comments to my dad about how much money I was spending on cat food. My dad then gave me a lot of trouble over it I just found those comments to be so inappropriate. Also they seemed to imply me spending money at their store was a bad or shameful thing. I've only ever been friendly to them! I've never been rude or to my knowledge done anything to be a bad customer. I have stopped shopping here. It doesn't really seem like I had a choice. They seem to not want my business for whatever reason. And what was once an accessible store to me is no longer. I think that hurts more than a store being inaccessible right off the bat, because I supported them heavily for so long and they knew me. So much for supporting small businesses. Unfortunately, my experience when something went wrong changed my confidence in continuing to trust them with his care. Max went in for his a grooming appointment with no irritation or injury to his belly. I requested a shorter summer cut and trusted the professionals caring for him to determine how to safely execute that request. He was not himself the following day, and by Friday I discovered significant irritation in the area that had been closely groomed. It continued to worsen and ultimately required an emergency veterinary visit, antibiotics, pain medication, a cone, and several days of wound care. When I contacted the business, their response focused on the fact that they had not observed an injury during his appointment and that I did not identify the irritation until after the grooming. They declined any responsibility or reimbursement. I wasn't looking for an admission of wrongdoing or expecting them to cover a large veterinary bill. Maybe a refund of the grooming fee, a discount, or another meaningful gesture would have shown me that they took what happened to Max seriously. What concerned me most was the lack of accountability once there was a problem. I sent a final message explaining why their response had damaged my trust and asking them to cancel Max's future appointment, and I received no response at all. My dog is family to me. I willingly pay for quality professional care because his safety and well-being matter enormously to me. I need to know that the people I entrust him to will not only treat him well when everything goes right, but will respond with care and accountability if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, after this experience, I no longer have that confidence and will be taking Max elsewhere.

I've owned my American Akita since he was 8 weeks old, and he's now 7 years old. After years of…read moreprofessional grooming appointments, I know when he's ready to be groomed and I always pay for the de-shedding package with the additional brushing because that's what his double coat requires. When I picked him up, I was told he did a great job overall. The groomer mentioned he gave a couple of warnings because he didn't like the brush, so I specifically asked if that affected the quality of the groom. I was told it did not. I waited several weeks before saying anything because I wanted to make sure the shedding wasn't just leftover loose hair. Unfortunately, he continued shedding heavily throughout my home. I even provided photos. What convinced me the de-shedding wasn't thorough was that very little hair was coming from his undercoat. Instead, the loose hair continued coming from his outer coat every time I rubbed him, even weeks later. When I reached out, I was told the brushing had been intentionally limited to avoid brush burn. While I appreciate wanting to avoid making a dog uncomfortable, I paid for the additional brushing service and don't feel I received the level of de-shedding I paid for. I was also confused by the explanations I received. At pickup, I was told my dog's behavior didn't affect the groom. Later, I was told he had actually been more difficult during the appointment, although I was again told that wasn't the reason for the outcome. I was also told maybe I brought him in too early, but after seven years with my dog, I know when he's ready to be groomed. To be fair, I don't place all of the blame on my groomer. My biggest disappointment was how the owner handled the situation. After I was told the owner would call me, I instead received a lengthy text message. I responded respectfully, answered every question, and provided photos, but I was never offered a touch-up, another de-shedding treatment, a partial refund, or any other effort to resolve the issue. Eventually, my messages stopped receiving responses. This salon charges premium prices, and I was willing to pay them because my first experience was so positive. If someone had simply called me and made a reasonable effort to resolve the issue, I would have gladly remained a customer. And as you can see from the picture he was clearly ready to be groomed Update as of July 22nd 2026 still not even a phone call from the owner
