I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service at this place. The last time I brought my dog in, his hair was cut far too short, so I filed a complaint. Apparently, instead of addressing the issue, they've chosen to penalize me for speaking up. Now I'm unable to book appointments online at Petco at all. When I called for clarification, the manager told me that because I complained previously, I'm no longer allowed to bring my dog there. On top of that, I can't even schedule appointments at any Petco location. This is completely unreasonable and unacceptable. Customers should not be punished for raising legitimate concerns about the service they receive. read more

One of my pups and I went in today for a routine service at the vaccination clinic. The vet technicians and doctor were very nice with Bruno and he seemed comfortable with them. They have good customer service and we were in and out in 20 minutes, including waiting for the lab results! We will do this again for vaccines. read more

Now that I have been back a few more times...I have started to become more and more dissatisfied. My first review was 5 stars!!! (Mainly because the groomer Bethany was always so Pleasant that it over powered the other stuff) The customer service is not even average...it's below average right now. When you walk around a store and employees are in corners texting instead of doing some type of work, it makes you wonder. Then when I ask an employee a question from two of them I received an "I don't know". Instead of thinking of asking one of their xo workers for help they started to walk away...that's when I said I would appreciate if they could find someone who could help me. I also realized they have stuff misplaced every where. Harness that are normally 20-40 dollars were hanging in spots that stated 2.99, one said 7.99. I was shocked because yes that is great for me as a consumer but the employees should take pride in the store they work for. Then to top it off my favorite groomer isn't there any longer either. The grooming section customer service wasn't all that great either. I was waiting patiently in Line to speak to a employee back there since there was a gentleman ahead of me and she told me twice ill be right with you. Well another employee comes up and completely cuts off the guy in front of me to tell the lady behind the counter about another dog that needing grooming... well there is a line and I would have appreciated she waited just as I have been the last 4 minutes. So all in all this store needs some work because you guys are in such a great location but it seems as if the employees need some serious training. read more

She instinctively recognizes a dogs body language and what it means. At each class Tank and I learn something new. I highly suggest any pet owner to visit Betsy. We take both of our dogs to Petco for grooming because we would follow our favorite groomer, Summer, anywhere! She has always taken excellent care of all of our dogs. We love the end result and knowing that she loves and cares for our dogs while they are there. I couldn't ask for more in a groomer. We have also gone to Petco for puppy lessons and puppy socializing. Marian was wonderful! She helped us integrate our new puppy into our home while also helping us train the new puppy. read more

Wish I could rate using negative stars. One star is an overrating. I experienced rude and unprofessional employee behavior directed toward me and other customers at this location (Campbell Rd. Nottingham, MD) this evening. I choose not to detail in this review the particular antics of an overgrown pouting child with poor customer service skills, even poorer communication skills, and still less basic human decency. Worse yet- I am fairly certain it was a store or shift manager behaving this way. I didn't stick around long enough to confirm her job title. Gross and pathetic excuse for "management". Petco- please hear me- Customers are the lifeblood of your business and should be treated with respect by employees with an approachable demeanor and helpful attitude. Instead, we were treated as an inconvenience. Petco has lost my business for good. I made sure to inform the offending employee of this as I exited the store. Yelpers- I suggest trying PetValu just up the road on Honeygo. I drove there tonight (after leaving this awful Petco) and received excellent service from an informed, educated, pleasant group of folks who value and respect their customers. Jessica at Petco did an amazing job grooming our lab mix Abby! She smelled so fresh and clean, her ears were the cleanest I've seen, and her nails were cut and buffed so they weren't sharp! I brought home my first rescue a few months ago and chose Petco for training because it was convenient and affordable. They blew past my expectations in the best way! My dog came to us fully grown with a lot of fears and trauma, but Betsy was so patient with us and did an amazing job meeting us where we were at. We were also lucky to have two other trainers helping us, Julie and Nora, and they could not have been sweeter or easier to work with. I'm so thankful for this team and would definitely recommend them for your general training needs! read more

The groomer Jessica doesn't have basics communication skills and instead will waste your time, money and gas. So I booked for a coat trim for my puppy, other things came with the package but primarily I needed a coat trim. First thing to go wrong was when I booked the appointment and she canceled it without telling me, the store hours changed and my appointment started when the store closed which is fine but why not give me a call to reschedule ? I called them and front desk said she's not sure why the groomer just canceled and didn't contact me about it, so they booked me for another time slot. I get to the appointment, the groomer Jessica takes my puppy. And when she's done he looks exactly the same. She rushed out to leave for break even tho I'm still standing there as if she's scared I'm going to yell at her because she knows I was expecting the trim. I stop her and ask why he didn't get him a trim and she said they can't get that done today ... why didn't you just tell me that ? She had nothing to say and she's clearly terrified of conflict so I just leave. Very very disappointed, I drove 40 minutes for nothing just because basic communication and problem solving are not in her skill set as if she was raised in a box by herself all about 25 years of her life. read more

This is my first time taking my pooch to this Petco to get groomed. I'm grateful that they were open during this pandemic. I called and they scheduled me for Sunday at 9am. There was no reminder call or any confirmation of his appointment. I showed up at 9am and was checked in. I picked my haircut for my dog and was told that I would receive a call when he is ready in about 3 hours. Fast forward it's now 1:30p and I didn't get a call so I decided to pop up. I asked if he was ready she said yes. Then I ask what time was he done she says 11:15a. I told her no one called me and she said she would let the groomer know. I paid 60. wasn't given any feedback on what was done, didn't even get a receipt nor was I asked if I wanted to make another appointment or if I was satisfied with his cut. I walked out with my dog not even knowing who groomed his him or what was included in his service. But hopefully this COVID won't last forever and he can go back to his regular groomer. read more

I like the wall in vet clinic. I have been trying to get update vaccines for my dog but my schedule has been all over the place. Today, I got a break in my schedule and was able to get her her vaccines. We were in and out in 15 min. I didn't have to wait in line or anything. My dog was anxious, so having as super short visit was perfect. The vet techs were very nice and personable. The store, as always, was well stocked with products and clean and organized. read more

I have to say I can not relate to any of these reviews. In all fairness I do not use the groomers here however all of my other customers services experiences have been 5 star. When I needed to change my dogs food I was not only listened to and helped find some other choices, I was even given free samples and coupons. I was also told that if the online price is better they will honor it. I've begun using this pet store exclusively and I really liked Pet Value (they just stopped carrying my cats food). Not many things for parakeets, but this Petco is very clean and well organized. The animals I have seen here are pretty healthy and active (except the ferrets- no matter where I go, the ferrets are sleeping). This Petco also has a nice beta selection. Even though all places seem to have them in smalls cups or containers, I feel like that's not too healthy for them. I can't confirm how well grooming is here since I have a parakeet. I wish that the parakeet section can grow, but that's really my only major complaint about this place. read more

Highly recommend this Petco for grooming! We've taken our pup to a few different PetSmarts as well as having her nails done at two different vets. By far this Petco did the best job. They do a close clip or grind in a safe manner and are super sweet to the dogs. My dog always hated getting her nails trimmed and was super nervous but didn't fight this time being on the table. Her nails are lasting longer too without needing to get them cut again. read more

We had our long haired dachshund groomed and haircut at White Marsh Petco this week. When we returned he looked and smelled amazing! The groomer was so polite and he reassured us that Oscar would be fine. We were so pleased with the service from start to finish. I always attempt to cut my dogs' nails and while I'm usually successful, they are sometimes a bit...overdramatic. literally such an inexperienced incompetent group of people. made an appointment for my dog for a haircut and they called me back LITERALLY five more times confirming it, and then i come to my 9 am appointment on sunday. wait outside for five minutes. then they're like oh he's here for his bath? um no, he's here for his haircut it's almost june and he needs a refresh. oh we only have him for a haircut. it's ridiculous!! incompetent people not knowing how to work a computer and phone system. definitely will never be back and will make sure i let everyone else know. lazy, uncaring people. so while my husband and kids waited in the car for fifteen minutes of "searching the computer" and asking me questions my time is now wasted and my dog isn't cut. ridiculous!! read more

I went in yesterday as I decided to start a freshwater aquarium. I had the pleasure to meet a very knowledgeable young woman who actually started all of the fish tanks there herself. She was very focused on telling me only what I actually need for my aquarium, instead of just trying to sell me everything they had. She spent a good half hour to 45 minutes explaining to me the importance of balancing pH and other chemicals in the tank, what fish to choose to avoid fights etc. I saw she was also very busy in assisting other passerby with small questions but definitely managed to help me leave very informed about how to start an aquarium. I later went and got the fish that I needed and other necessity equipment. I definitely would recommend their fish section to those that are new to this and interested, they will do their best to help you and make sure you have a successful tank. They also test water for free for you to ensure your fish and plants are healthy and cycling is as it should be. read more
