I am a frequent customer at this location since they opened . I never had an issue when any workers there until now. I do not know the assistant manager's name I will referred to her as the lady assistant manager. The lady assistant manager always gives me a hard time. She refuses to match items from Chewy. She always has excuses. The male manager is a great guy. He always price matches chewy with no questions asked. I think this lady just likes giving people a hard time. She isn't pleasant. I came here to wash my Husky. The fact that they have a self service dog wash is fantastic. Not many places have them any more. The price was around $20 and that included the wash area for 30 minutes, unlimited soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, a heavy duty blow dryer, and, even an apron to keep me mostly dry. The wash area is raised up higher than a bathtub, which saves my back from having to bend over for so long. Before the wash, I bought some peanut butter treats, that were on sale, to give my dog a reason to chill out a bit. The blow dryer worked fantastic, plenty of air volume and pressure without any heat. If you've ever tried to dry a husky, who has a heavy coat and undercoat, you'll appreciate the blow dryer. Friendly and helpful staff. I'm pretty sure that I went over the 30 minute time period and when I asked if I needed to pay more, they didn't charge me a penny. Even the other customers were fantastic! Most everybody there is a pet lover and my boy Giorgio got lots of attention and pets from random people in the store. They have plenty of items for other pets as well. Get your cat, bird, fish, etc needs taken care all under one roof. The icing on the cake? Plenty of free parking in the lot out front! I really hope that other people use this store for their pet needs and for the dog wash. They were really great. I stopped by to give my dog a bath since all the Queens locations are gone. I have a multiple wash card so the cashier punched my card. She informed me that there would be a wait because 2 customers just came and I could use the small bathing station if I didn't want to wait. My dog is 35 pounds so that wasn't going to work. While I waited, I asked the groomer if I could get nails clipped. She informed me that it was $14 to clip and $18 if I also wanted them filed. Then she said she could put me in for tomorrow- no thanks since it was a long drive. So, I walked around the store and when I went back, there was another groomer who could clip the nails right away. Perfect! By the time the nails were done, one of the dogs left the bathing area. Another worker came to clean and disinfect the area. Then it was my turn. The water hose had good power and I could control the temperature. I had my own shampoo but there were 3 different ones available. Once I was done e washing her, I used the two towels they provided to dry her off a bit. When I was ready to use the blow dryer hose, there was no power. I asked another worker (there are so many workers at this location) and he immediately went to activate it for me. The experience was nice. The space was clean. The workers were all very helpful. I am not one to write reviews but I'm going to get to the bottom line my experience here I should say my dog pugsy who is a Chihuahua pug mix was phenomenal he is a different looking dog I explained to them how my dog sheds unbelievable amounts of hair I was expecting them to cut his hair but they said that his hair is too short to cut but they will brush it out and they'll give him a bath and brush his teeth I might add i thought his teeth as he's an old dog were Brown from old age when I came and picked up pugsy he looked about the half of his normal size because of all the hair they took off of him which is a great thing I'm super happy about that and couldn't believe how white his teeth were all in all the best experience I've ever had with a groomer and I am not much of a review writer but I felt I had to write a review because they did such a great job with my dog I will absolutely continue to go back there, almost forgot, his nails were great too... I cannot believe how high canned Blue Buffalo dog food is priced at PSP - almost $5 a can as compared with Chewy where each can is priced at less than $3. So Chewy it is. I have been a member for years and have never received a discount when I showed my card. read more

I used to patronize PetSmart, but from where I live now it's a long haul. Petco I didn't care for as much. So I was delighted to discover PetSupplies Plus, which is much closer to home, very near to lots of other great shopping & dining spots, and is also turning out, in my opinion, to be the best of the bunch of the three pet supply chains. I didn't get that "warehouse" feel as I do in the other ones, where the emphasis seems to be on giant economy size items (not that they don't have those, but they have smaller packages too for those of us who don't care to lift a 45-pound bag o'litter). Speaking only for the cat-related products, you'll find a huge variety of Friskies, 9-Lives and other good standard fare. All the flavors and different preparations (pate, slices, sauced, meaty bits, etc.) including the harder to find Flaked Tuna and Egg. Dry food from the 3.5 pound bag on up, many types of litter and there are 20-pound bags available. They have the more expensive high-end brands too but again, there's enough variety for everyone to get what they and their cats actually want, that satisfies and stays within budget. Plenty of toys, catnip, cat furniture, litter box accessories and other cat essential items. Prices are good and always seems to be something or other on sale. The employees all seem very knowledgeable, positive and cheerful and they do a good job. If you don't have the obligatory discount card, they will actually sign you up for one right there at the checkout counter, instead of telling you to go home and go to the website to sign up. I've seen two different employees take care of this for people, and they do it bada-bing one-two-three. So if you don't have the card, no worries; and even more importantly, if the person in front of you doesn't have one, it's also no worries. As promised I got an e-mailed $5 coupon within a week of my signup. I do expect to return often. read more

I love PSP-- particularly their delivery service and the rewards program. It's easy to earn points and rewards and it's very easy to get a delivery. I usually don't come here, everything is cheaper around the block at Stop n Shop. But, it was an emergency. 3 of us at the checkout line with no cashier in sight. Found 3 of them helping a customer with trying on dog leashes. I ended up paying $23.80 for 40L bag of paper bedding for my guinea pigs. It's $18.00 on Amazon. Never going back. This has always been a great store, but now they have spent some time and effort to renovate. It looks so much better. Clean, neat, better signage. Normally I go to the Westbury store, but other commitments sent me West. Store is clean (Westbury too). Spent about $100 on dog and cat products. At the cashier I mentioned that I had given her two of the same coupon, but that she missed one. Said she had done it, and appeared to enter it again. My wife paid, and we left. When we got home we realized we'd left a bag on the counter. Called, and they confirmed they were holding it aside. Went back to get it, and as I left I felt the bag, and it turned out one of two chew sticks was not in it. Went back in and they gave it to me, no problem, but why wasn't it there already? I wasn't going to give up an eight dollar chew stick. Got home and noticed I never got the extra coupon credit. Not going back again, not for two dollars...
