They also listen to your requests, which allows them to keep their customers happy. They don't overbook so your pet is never rushed. They also do not cage the pet which allows for a stress free environment for the animal. They can be very busy and yet they don't over promise. Kelly - I hope you are ready for Aidan to be one of your "regulars" because you did an amazing job! Kelly was fantastic about listening to what I wanted with Aidan and looking at all of the photos that came in. Aidan left looking as handsome as ever. I think one of the things that impressed me the most is that after most grooms at other salons, Aidan leaves with a lot of energy after being crated. After a bad experience with our long term groomer (one of our dogs was bleeding after his last grooming and the owner was nasty and defensive), I searched Yelp for a new place and found Spaw Pet Salon. We have two fragile toy Papillons, one is elderly and can be tempermental. Our dogs disliked our former groomer so much that they trembled and had to be dragged in. What a difference with Spaw Pet Salon! Kelly treated our babies with respect and love. She gave them beautiful haircuts while leaving their silky locks long as I requested. I love that my dog walks right into the shop never afraid. Why? Because the dogs are not caged and the groomers treat the dogs amazing. They are first greeted by Patrick in the front and then their groomer brings them in to play. You can see everything once you walk in and all the dogs seem happy! So happy we found them. This is probably the best groomer I've ever taken my dogs to and after discovering them, I wouldn't take them anywhere else! Obviously it's a pet salon, but every time I bring my dog there... it feels more like a dog day care bc they can roam around (behind the counter/fenced area) instead of being kept in cages while they wait their turn to be groomed. Plus everyone is always so kind and friendly to us. I wouldn't recommend any other pet groomer on Long Island. I really wanted to love this place. I read all the great reviews, and I truly believed I had found the perfect grooming place for my dog. However, I will not be coming back to this place. I brought my dog in for a wash, cut, nail trimming, and dental treatment. My boyfriend picked her up when she was ready, and when he sent me pictures I realized her face was still dirty; they did not clean around her eyes. So I sent him back. When I got home, my dog laid on her back for me to pet her belly, and I quickly noticed that her private part was red and had a little bit of dried up blood (not her period, because she is spayed). They obviously were not careful. Last but not least, the cut was far from perfect, there were a lot of random long hairs all over the place. I am not happy. Therefore, I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

We had a much loved Groomer, but couldn't get there anymore tried a few others, the last one drugged my Maltese and he was terrified. But then we found Kelly here, and Teddy though nervous at first was happier than he's been in a very long time at a groomer. I can't say enough good About Shaw and the staff especially Kelly. I have to say that SPAW PET SALON is the best! It's a hidden gem in Westbury.. I have a 10 year old White Cava-Poo who is not the easiest to groom and really needs an attentive groomer.. I found this at SPAW- I have always been very careful about who grooms my Maggie b/c of a bad grooming experience years ago and expect the best. Kim, Patrick and the rest of the staff are not only are attentive but "listen" to the needs of your pet! Kim has also noticed things on my pet that the vet didn't even see!!! They are never caged, and always given lots of TLC. I trust them with my girl... and for me to say that is a big deal!!! Love these groomers!!! Over the course of a year I was bouncing from groomer to groomer trying to find the right staff of my dog. I love them so much and I wanted someone to love them as much as I do when I left them in their hands. A huge bonus for me was knowing that my dogs weren't going to be locked up in a cage for hours at a time. Everyone is so nice there.
