My friend, who is also a dog owner, and I stopped at Luca's Barkery around 1pm on a Thursday. I was impressed by their huge selection of treats. I recognized several brands that my dog liked, but I was intrigued by new brands that also looked healthy and nutritious for my dog. I loved that the store leaned into Christmas items, including Christmas themed treats and Dog Advent Calendars. As much as I wanted to get something for my dog, I kept gravitating to a paw ornament kit. My dog's "gotcha day" was 5-years ago around Christmas time, so the kit was more for me than it was for him. Lastly, the employee at Luca's during the time of our visit was so friendly! When I mentioned that I was from out of town, he sparked up a genuine conversation asking where I was from, how I'm liking Cleveland, etc. Really enjoyed chatting with him and appreciated his hospitality and positive attitude.

They never took you off the schedule! See you then!" Tuesday, I drive there. I love the receptionist! Always friendly and pleasant! Not just to you she always greets your fur baby too! She was kinda quiet? I said appt is with Alyssa B. She walks in the back. I'm still at the counter. She's talking with Alyssa B as this is the first time I've seen her. I hear Alyssa B say, "she canceled yesterday. I got a note, put another DOG in the spot!!" I respond, "excuse me . . . I called back to see if the appointment was still available and was told I was in lucky! It was still on the schedule." Alyssa looked at me. Eye contact - took her right hand and closed the door! I sat waiting, then decided HELL NO! Only an unruly teenager acts like that! Not a professional! My question, if she could treat me so rudely- would you trust her grooming your Fur Baby? I will NEVER as in NEVER EVER go there again! Not a call from anyone to apologize? I've always been extremely generous with tips, I've also left snacks! What a wonderful medical group! They are VERY accommodating (my husband and I have tricky…read moreschedules, and our pets have a LOT of special needs) and efficient, but that is not what makes them so special. The doctors, vet techs, vet assistants, groomers, and even the people in reception are warm and friendly and CARING, especially Holly, Mel B. (Our kitty Reggie is in LOVE with her!) and Drs. Walker and Mitzi. They all listened to our questions and concerns, and they treated us with kindness and patience. It is clear that they wanted us to understand every part of the appointment, and they made sure to get our informed consent about entry procedure or treatment. And the way they treat our kitties? Amazing. After every appointment, they called us "just to check in with how the patients are doing". You can really tell that they love animals. On a sad note, we recently lost out 16 year-old cat to cancer (he was being treated by an amazing oncologist at MedVet, by the way). When we had him put to sleep at Medvet (see my other review for THAT horror story), the folks at Bartels and Busack sent us condolences and a sympathy card even though they were not the ones who euthanized him. Their tech, Vince, was especially sympathetic and compassionate. Thank you for the comfort, B and B.

When I did have an emergency during hours and I thought my dog was dying, they wanted to charge me a $200 fee to have it reviewed by their board to see if they could get her in. I never went back. You'll also wait 30 minutes to see a doctor every time you go there. Why don't they just adjust their appointment times? Don't know. You'd think they'd provide top tier service with the prices they charge.

Not only did she give her a great bath but she was able to trim Leila's nails. To give some context, Leila usually has to be sedated by our Vet to trim her nails. Denise asked if she could try and I am so glad I agreed because she got three out of four paws done! That is a huge thing for my dog. Everyone at Yuppy Puppy is so nice and you can tell they do excellent work by just looking at them working in the back. The shop is always clean and it's very easy to make an appointment. I felt their prices were very good, especially for the great job they did. We will definitely be back!

The vet did an xray ($350) and told me there was nothing in her throat. She prescribed antibiotics but she was getting worse. I called the office for two days and they would not pick up the phone. Finally my husband went to the office and told the lady that Mia was very sick. They did not want to see her. Prescribed another medication WITHOUT SEEING HER and told us not to bring her in!!! To take her to MedVet. We did right away but she passed on our way there. I BLAME Emerald. After we got home I left a message to let them know that Mia had passed. They didn't have the courtesy to call be back. SHAME ON THEM!!! DONT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE!!! THEY DONT CARE!!!

I explained to the staff over the phone that my dog has anxiety and takes medication as needed for her condition. Staff proceeded to reassure me that they work with dogs with anxiety and other conditions so it should not be a problem. I went in and stayed for almost an hour having my dog accessed and going over medication, drop and pick up times ect. A couple of days before my family was getting ready to leave for our easter weekend vacation i get a call from a "manager" saying that they could not board my dog due to behavioral issues and I was going to have to find somewhere else!! Mind you the staff had already approved my pet and sent my husband and I a confirmation email. Apparently there is no communication amongst staff. This is a mom and pop so there are no real strict rules or guidelines, they do as they please. The manger said she did not like what she read in the notes about my dog. This person was not even the one that accessed my animal. It was awful. I had to find boarding for my dog for easter weekend two days before my flight. I almost had to cancel my trip because of the unprofessional, untrust worthy actions of this place. The staff was very rude to me when i called for further explanation. Everything the prior staff member had reassured me was not going to be a problem about my dogs anxiety all of a sudden was. It was awful. I am glad i did not leave my dog here, and they showed their true colors before i actually trusted them with my furry family member. Very unprofessional and disorganized! And if your pet has any kind of special needs do not trust them. New comers be ware! Even if they confirm your stay it is not solid! They cancelled my reservation even after passing the assessment and receiving confirmation documention! I travel often and board my dog as needed, and I have to say this is the absolute worse experience ive had with any pet needs associates in the Cleveland area and surrounding counties. There are much better options for your furry friend! I hope i was able to a least save some of you the hassle and stress these people put my family through.
