I am incredibly disappointed with what happened with my dog today. I am grateful that you guys took her in for a gland expression, but when there was no issue there, the groomer immediately started trimming my dogs nails without asking! That was my first problem. Second problem is, the word trim could be replaced with HACKING. Indiscriminately using clippers on her black nails, which is already dangerous because it's hard to tell where the quick is, and lo and behold she cut at least one too short. Immediately there was blood, which she tried to say was HERS!! She wouldn't have told me if I hadn't seen it myself! Third and final strike. I said we do them at home, we use grinders, and was being ignored while listening to commentary that they were practically grown into her feet (give me a break). I just wanted to get my dog back so I tried not to throw a fit and that was my subtle way of trying to say "we do them, you dont need to". I am horrified by the fact that if I hadn't seen the blood that she tried to hide, she wouldn't have told me. I am just shocked by the lack of respect, care, and transparency - I know mistakes happen, but this could have been avoided. If she'd had the respect to ask about performing additional services on my dog before just deciding to do them (would have said no), been mindful of taking small snips once she took it upon herself to just do things I hadn't asked for (or switched to a grinder - standard practice for dogs with black nails), and after making this unfortunate mistake she should have told me what she did instead of trying to lie about it!! Even just from a veterinary care standpoint, I NEED TO KNOW! What foot, what nail(s)!? We all should hope that this was just a little knick and my little senior lady doesn't go lame or you will be hearing from me again. read more

My dog spent the weekend boarding there and came home extremely thirsty, as if he had not been given enough water he drank one and a half large bowls right away. He also didn't seem like himself and was clearly off. It makes me concerned that the animals may be left alone for most of the day on weekends. We chose boarding so our dog wouldn't be alone, but his condition when he returned was upsetting. He even growled at us, which is completely out of character for him. In addition, he had sores that lead us to believe he may have been attacked by other dogs. It's very distressing to think that our well-cared-for, trained, and loved dog may not have been treated with the same level of care. To the owner, If animals are not being cared for properly, this is not the right line of work for you. The environment is also extremely loud, making it difficult to communicate with staff you can barely even say your pet's name and be heard. To other pet owners it would be best you find another place to take your pet. read more

Our dog was attacked by another dog, under their supervision and when we addressed the owner for their irresponsible and poor customer service, she made an excuse (like she has with anyone who complaints in other posts), that her employee was bitten by our dog. Our dog was trained by a sheriff and has never bitten a human or dog. Did I mention, we were given a great report about our dog and even shared a video of how good are dog was with other dogs! $5,000 in medical care and several weeks of treatment and surgery. would not provide any information on the dog or video! To add more trauma she threaten to call animal control on us. If you love you fur babies don't take them here! read more

Unbelievably disappointed "service " if you want to call it that. My appointment for my two small dogs was at 10 AM.. when we entered the place of business. It was very chaotic very loud. The one of the women that had me fill out the forms had to get really close to me in order to hear what I was saying that's how loud it was. I wasn't sure about taking them there, but I was referred by one of their employees so I thought that I would go and support this business this time to see how it would go. Big mistake I will never return to this business. I was given a quote over the phone which this business did not honor, so I was given a quote over the phone. She did not ask me to send Pictures which every other groomer that I've got a quote over the phone always has asked me to send pictures. They were last groomed 6 to 8 weeks ago. I was quoted $65 for each of my girls. When I made payment I was told a different price. So this business did not honor the quote. I received a phone call at 3 PM to pick up my girls when I entered the business again it was chaotic and loud. The environment was not soothing or safe sounding. at that time when I went to pick up my girls, I was notified that one of my girls was biting, which has never been an issue. Yes, they have been to other groomers. This is the first time that I have received this concern. If it did happen, I should have been notified that they could not complete the job due to the accusation about one of my girls biting.They should've just asked me to come pick them up that they could not follow through instead of keeping them there Their nails were not trimmed. Their haircut was very choppy, uneven, and the owner when I spoke to her she hung up on me. The owner said she used scissors instead of the shaver. I asked for their hair to be cut shaved short. when I spoke with the owner, she mentioned that "nipping and biting were the same thing like diarrhea and pooping are the same thing."I was flabbergasted ,so unprofessional.Who says that? I proceeded to ask the owner if the glands were cleaned out and the ears and the nails were visibly still long. She said yes it was done when visibly it has not been done. during my phone call with the owner she says I can't seem to appease you so this conversations going nowhere and then rudely hung up on me. The customer that paid for a service that she did not complete. I felt like I was walking into a California business just unorganized, chaotic, loud and unprofessional. I will be returning to the previous groomer. I was trying to support a friend who works there at her new job obviously that was the wrong choice for my babies. read more

Horrible!! When I picked up my Shih Tzu The owner told me a sad story of how overworked she was. She told me on the phone that the grooming would be $50. Now she said $55. I gave her $60 after listening to her sob story. When I got home and took a good look at my sweet dog, He was a disaster! I had given her a note with complete instructions that were not followed at all. He had a claw that was damaged and I told her to be careful with that claw. I asked her how he did with his claw clipping, She responded with, "Oh, I forgot to do his claws." Then she proceeded to clip them while her assistant held him. She did not even clip his back feet while she did it right in front of me. I called her and asked for a refund. She adamantly said, "NO!" I would not take my dog back the Funky Poodle Ever Ever Ever!! She could NOT even Shear Sheep!! I am questioning whether or not She even bathed Him??? I called all the groomers in the area three days ago to try and get my dog in, squeezing this in between my rabid travel schedule I was not hopeful but I do believe in miracles LOL Today I received a phone call from The Funky Poodle and she asked if I still needed to get my dog done, and I said oh God yes. She said can you bring him in an hour? I was so happy!!! I brought him in and ddropped himoff and she said she would call me when he was done I was shocked at how fast I got ccalled back and kind of skeptical that they did it that quickly. When I went to pick up my baby ...... he looks amazing!!! Oh Wow!!!! they do an incredible job. He is so beautiful! I thought for sure they were going to have to shave his tail because of his dreadlocks from swimming in our pool. But they did not. Three groomings in a row, once a month, and every time there was poor fur trimming and poor foot care. My dog looked like someone forgot where they were clipping and shaved a row and moved on to a different part. I have to remind every time no ears no tail. They shave her eyebrows right off! I won't be returning. read more

I've taken my dogs here a number of times for grooming and today I tried the doggie day care. The actually let the dogs out to free play not just sit in a kennel. My two are exhausted and clean because they got a bath as well. Can't say enough good things about this place. read more

Took both of my small dogs there for over night boarding. I brought their food they eat (any other kind of food they don't tolerate very well). I picked them up at 5:30 pm the next day after an almost 36 hour stay. They handed me back the left over food and when I got home I noticed NONE of the containers had been opened so they didn't even attempt to feed them the food I left for them I'm not sure if they even ate or not and if they did eat I'm not sure what kind of food or brand they got fed. Had I noticed this before I got home I would've brought it up with the staff. One of my dogs also came home with a haircut that I did not request. I wish they would've called and asked permission to cut my dogs hair and permission to feed them food other than what was left for them. Prices are also a bit steep. read more

We took our dog to get groomed, bath and hair cut. Dropped him off at 7:30 am for his appointment. At 9:30am we get a call, we were told their a/c went out and they couldn't finish our dog. He was half shaven. Made appointment to bring him back Monday at 8 am. I called 1st and was told it wasn't fixed yet and she didn't know when it would be. I will never take another animal to this uncaring, unprofessional person. Who let's a dog leave half shaven. It took us 25 min. To get there. She could have been done. read more

Max stays here 3 times a week - His behavior has been so much more upbeat - He plays with other dogs now - in the water he wouldent go in the water before and plays with the ball as well - He only plays with his one toy at home and has not had a lot of socializing w other dogs or people besides family-he is 4 years old - He gets excited to go in and will be easier to travel with now as well. After 2.5 years of patronizing this business, today we were told by an employee that our "fur baby" was not in Daycare as he was supposed to be but was instead in a cage next door as he was on their "no play list" and had been for awhile. Any questions would have to be answered next door. The conversation went... Q.. why is he on a "no play list"...A... He isn't... Q..why is he here...A... well he is on a list....Q...why....A...fighting...Q...why weren't we notified...A...it wasn't a big thing...Q..then why the "no play list"..A..we just don't want him playing with other dogs.... But they happily allowed us to believe he was being allowed to run and play with the other dogs when he was caged and isolated away from the other dogs in the room. And when confronted about it with information from their own employee, their first instinct was to lie about their mistreatment of our boy, and only when pressed did one of them actually admit to it. When someone's first instinct is to lie about how they treat your pet when you aren't around, those are the types it is best to stay far far away from. read more

We recently moved to the area and Funky Poodle is the second groomer we've tried for our standard poodle. I'm happy to report that I don't need to try any other groomers! Beth worked on our dog for three hours because he was so matted from the last groomer not taking the time to brush him out completely. She also cleaned his ears and trimmed his nails, all for a great price compared to what I am used to paying, especially for everything it includes. He now looks, smells, and feels great. The shop is very clean and Beth was wonderful in taking her time to understand the cut I wanted and explaining what she had done, she was also very pleasant and accommodating. I'll definitely be back in 6-8 weeks! I would recommend this place to everyone even if you don't have a poodle..LOL read more
