When we come to visit bullhead We always try and bring our English bulldog Dallas They did such an amazing job giving her a bath and treating her like a princess. Also they gave her a special bandanna and give her her own bell. This was the second time we used them and I had to give the best review possible. Went down to spend Thanksgiving at my mom's and one of the places we went to was Desert Dogs. I've driven by this place for years and decided to walk in to see if they could schedule an appointment for my mom's dog Frankie to have her nails trimmed. The lady I spoke to said that Tuesday was good so I decided on bringing Frankie in when they opened at 7 am. Walking in a lady happily greeted mom & I and told use that the lady that will be trimming the nails will be in any minute. Sure enough we did not have to wait more then 3 minutes when she walked in. She did a great job trimming her nails and the over grown hair on her paws. She made Frankie very comfortable and she was not shaking or looking scared at all. The inside of this place was extremely clean and orderly. Both of the ladies that helped us were very friendly and the cost was great. Only $12 and we only had to wait about 10 minutes. Next time I come down to see mom is on her birthday in mid January and she said that she wanted to make an appointment to have her washed and groomed. Thanks Desert Dogs. Danger do not take your pet here if you love your pet I went there three times on the third time the owner Debbie cut a quarter size Peaks out of my dog's right hind when I went back to ask her to pay for the vet to see if we could get it fixed she accused me of hustling her for money and had this man I think was her husband come lunging out from the back and try and shove me out the door he didn't touch me but he was very very irate and waving his hands at me my dog has papers and is under 2 years old so he will never be able to be in any dog show everyday I have to see this quarter sized bald spot my heart is broken that she did not take responsibility for wounding my dog lots of groomers in town if you love your dog do the right thing and if something happens you were warned read more

Use to be a very good groomer last time I took Roxy in I was very disappointed. ONLY lasted less then 2 days horrible job done.As much as I've had no problems in the past, they could just give me such a pitiful job on my dog. I have no idea where to begin with this place. I took my dog here because she needed her nails done very badly as quarantine had caused them to grow very long and it was long overdue to get done. I get there and my dog apparently has allot to say as she loves to bark at people and other dogs. She's not mean whenever she has been to the dog park she just runs up to people barks licks their dogs and runs away to the next person and does the same thing. Never has been aggressive or mean towards anyone including children, even cats. After the staff heard her barking they asked very rudely "does she bite", I told them no she doesn't bite the only thing is she hates her feet touched, i have no idea where she got that from but ever since I had her (8 years) she never has liked her feet being touched and whenever you play with her feet she turns her head and nips at the air. Never has she turned and grabbed hold of your hand with her mouth or actually even touched your hand with her mouth just like hey don't touch my feet. I explained this to the front desk lady and she said "oh well nip is a fine line to bite." The staff asked if they should muzzle her so I said "that's fine" if it makes you more comfortable I'm ok with that. They put my dog up on the table and of course my dog squirmed like don't touch my feet, I don't like that. The other lady there said something along the lines of taking her to the vet to have it done because she needs to be sedated for this. Very rudely. Then they put her on the floor and was like "I only got three feet done I can't finish this." Then the other lady chimes in and said "oh and you need to take her to the vet because I smell yeast she has an infection somewhere you need to take her to the vet" they came off very rude and very mean like I had done something wrong. I apologized for my dogs behavior and ran her to the vet immediately. I take care of my dogs. Once I arrived at the vet they said would you like us to try and do her nails for her, I was like if you want to try. No muzzle nothing they just picked my dog up set her on the table, my dog laid down and they lifted her last paw up clipped the nails no problem, then she just laid there and they cleaned her ears out. The vet was laughing because they thought it was funny that they had no problem whatsoever but this place had all these issues. You know how people say dogs read people, I think she knew these people were not good people and just didn't want to do the job. Would not recommend this place to anyone, I'll take my business elsewhere. She's had 5 groomers throughout her lifetime and never once have they told me don't bring her back or she's difficult. This is the first time I've ever had any trouble in her 8 years of life with a groomer being mean and like we can't help you. If you don't like dogs or don't like your job your in the wrong business. Oh and to top it off the vet told me there is no yeast smell, your dog is perfectly healthy. Yea great job groomers, won't be back. read more

Desert Dogs is the only place I will take my dogs. Debbie has been in the area for over 15 years and always provides the best service. I get my dog in and out without them being left in the cage for a long period of time. This is the best dog grooming in the area!! read more

I moved to Bullhead 8 months ago from Calif., and needed to find a cat groomer. Found Desert Dogs on Yelp, and I really lucked out ... They do a great job on both my cats. Debbie is great at desert dogs! I have been taking my three dogs to her for the last 8 years. When I moved from Bullhead City to Fort Mohave I tried someone near me and I decided it wasn't worth the convenience and continued to take my dogs to Debbie. I've also taken a long haired cat to her on a few occasions and they did a wonderful job. I think it may have been around April when Debbie had a new groomer in there. Debbie saw my dog when I came to pick them all up and she was unhappy with the cut that the new groomer gave. (I didn't see anything really wrong with it) she told me to bring my dog back in one or two weeks and she do her for free. That was the only time in 8 years that this is happened. read more

My dog Happy ahs been getting groomed at Desert Dogs for almost 13 years, I wouldn't taker her to any other groomer. Happy doesn't make it easy to groomer as she moves all the time. Debby and her groomers take it all as part of the job do a great job. Happy likes going there which speaks extremely well Debby and crew. Recently they went beyond the usual work and found Happy needed to see a vet for an infected gland. Thank you ladies, Happy is better thanks to you. read more
