We went to 4 different wineries and the theme of our tour was the movie called "Bottle Shock". So we went to some of the wineries that were mentiond in the movie. The ones that made Napa famous. :) The weather was awesome on our tour day. The lunch that was included in the fee was really good. nice selection of sandwiches. I loved how much communication you got about the experience beforehand via email. Definitely read those emails as you will know where to park, etc. Each restaurant had a different feel/vibe and totally different food. That really helped us to experience all that the downtown area had to offer. In some places, the owner or proprietor would come out and give a short spiel. In others, we were left to enjoy the company of our newly-made friends. Although I didn't have any food restrictions, Rooted Fork does honor them and we had 4 people on our tour who did have certain restrictions, including 2 vegetarians. Unfortunately it seemed that some of the restaurants didn't understand. In one place, the 2 vegetarians were served heaping plates of fish. The funny thing is that's not what everyone else was served so this means they prepared these fish dishes specifically for people who do not eat fish. Thankfully, once explained to the servers a few times over, they brought out alternate dishes for these folks. If you are new to the area, this is a really fun way to get the lay of the land and figure out where you might want to have dinner.

Loved talking with Drew beforehand, learning about wetland restoration efforts and how quickly nature can rebound. The slough was peaceful and sparkling on this sunny October afternoon. We observed cranes and fish nibbling at surface snacks. In the distance, you can see Mount Tam and a bit closer--the Brazos railroad bridge. While there is much to see and do in Napa, this experience at the end of our trip was a definite highlight.

Unfortunately I got a nasty cold the day before we flew out so I didn't taste any of the wines, but it was still an amazing day largely thanks to David Velazquez of My Napa Guide. My friend had done the arrangements in advance and worked with David to tell him what we were looking for -- there was some back and forth because we wanted to change some of the wineries and also fit some more in. David was very accommodating and responsive. He is very knowledgeable about the area (being a Napa native) and told us about the history of the region as well as some of the processes that go into winemaking. He chose a diverse set of wineries so we felt we got the full Napa experience. He also was very friendly but was happy to let us sit on our own during the wine tastings until he came to collect us. He also very nicely brought bottles of water with him for our picnic lunch (which we got from a deli that he recommended and were able to take to one of the wineries). At the end of the evening (close to 7) most of the wineries were closing for the day but some of my friends still wanted to explore more. He was able to find a place that let us sit outside with a bottle for another hour (past their normal closing time) to have a relaxing end of the day. Finally, he was extremely patient and good humored about the copious amounts of singing in the car on the way home! I would highly recommend this service to anyone wanting to use a designated driver at Napa. Since I ended up not drinking at first I was wondering if it would be a waste of money (aside from the fact that I really didn't feel like driving) but David was as much of a tour guide as a DD and he really went out of the day to make the day special.

The tour guides (aka very accomplished paranormal investigators) were engaging, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Napa's history and the paranormal. It was the perfect mix of spooky, fun, and fascinating -- we learned so much about downtown Napa along the way. Attendees become paranormal investigators during the tour, given several tools to track paranormal activity (spiritual dowsing rods, and a ghost hunting meter that measures electric signals (as ghosts give off electric signals). We made about 4-5 different stops that are either haunted or have affiliation with death, and Devin helped the group communicate with ghosts during some of the stops, combining storytelling with interesting historical events in Napa. We had a combination of skeptics and believers in our group, including at least one witch. I, of course, came for the entertainment, getting to talk about serial killers, learn a bit about history, and also get in a few laughs as Devin brings the humor as well. I did learn some new things, such as the difference between a ghost and a spirit, possible origins of the terms "lobbying" and "pulling my leg", and that Cole's Chop House (where my bf and I had dinner earlier that day) was formerly a mortuary. We ended at the courthouse, not where we started the tour, with the story of the last public execution in California which took place here in Napa. Overall, we had a fun time, and it's an unconventional way to tour the streets of Napa, and definitely enjoyable if you like ghost stories.

I decided to use the ferry service that ran directly to Oracle Park for a Giants game. Parking was very easy via the app. Boarding was easy via the app. The ferry was busy but there was enough space and seats for everyone. It left exactly on time and the trip was exactly as long as they stated it would be. After the game it was just as easy unloading. I would definitely use this again. Oh, and the ticket price seemed to be comparable to what it would have cost me for bridge toll and parking at the game.

The wine makers were gracious, and spent a great deal of time with us. They told us how they got started, and shared stories with us. Walking around downtown Napa felt good! I hadn't seen those hotels before and being able to go inside was great. Bob was both friendly and well-spoken and is a great tour leader. I felt like I learned a lot more about Napa on that tour than I had on any of my previous trips. My girlfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful time - a perfect getaway from San Francisco. I will be recommending this tour to my friends from in town and out of town. And of course, delicious wine at several wineries!
