So, I order dog food and they sent an email saying it's ready at 7:56. The store closed at and they refused to give me the food and tell me to go to Target, a store that doesn't carry the brand I use. Changing the brand would cause my dogs gastrointestinal issues. They cannot help me and they will cancel the order due to non-pickup. However, while I am talking to Petco Corporate, the store lets several people into the store. This location makes no sense to me. They charged me $104.and change. Didn't think about it as I had a lot of other errands to run. Got home and realized there couldn't be $17 of tax! Called the store and the kid basically told me he "didn't see any shelf tag" for $78. Then he asked me to drive all the way across town to "show him where the tag is/was". I wasn't about to do that. Back when customer service was a thing, the store would have apologized and honored the tag that was there. Instead this kid away arguing with me. I've been shopping at this store because their prices were cheaper than PetSmart, but I will not return to this store since they have kids running it and do not understand how to treat longtime loyal customers. Super convenient location but they are massively understaffed. No matter what time you go there, expect to wait in line at least 15 minutes. I bought aquarium live plants about a month ago. I was assured by the sales girl who said she knew a lot about adding live plants to my tank. I asked her for her recommendation for plants, and she selected three bunches for me. In a few days, I saw some snails on the glass of my aquarium. I tried to get them out using a plastic cup. Within a week, my tank had literally at least a hundred snails everywhere. When I told the girl, she said it was normal, and I should keep removing them as best I could. I told her I didn't want snails, and I wanted my money back and she could have the plants back. I ended up having to completely tear down my tank, remove everything, and bleach the gravel, filters, glass, rocks, and everything because my tank was infested with snails. It has taken me many hours to complete this work. These people don't know what they are doing. read more

I can't recommend a groomer more. Jonny was an absolute Angel. My dog Juneau has always had bad luck with groomers because she's a husky and always gets mistreated because of it. But I finally found a groomer that she seems super happy with. She usually comes out of the back screaming and panting heavy. But this time she was happy and calm and looked absolutely gorgeous. Go anywhere but here!!!! I have been dealing with one issue after another with PetCo. From being tricked into joining their rewards program, which is NOT cancelable at any time, which is what they told me, to being ripped off on returns and "rewards money". For one, the food and everything else in this store are OVERPRICED! Then, when you try to return something that you animals will not eat, they do not refund you the rewards money, so somehow you are tricked into buying their expensive ass food out of pocket since they do not properly do the return of money and rewards credit. This whole thing seems terribly scammy to me, and I am doing everything in my power to cancel my rewards program with them, but since they are not willing to do it on their end, it looks like I will have to bring this up with my attorney. Summary: Never take your pet here for grooming. Abused employees verbally abuse customers. When they do that... It makes you wonder what they do to our pets. My kids scheduled an appointment for our family poodle mix to be groomed. They raved about the groomer and this blue haired boy who scheduled their appointment. On Memorial Day, I received a call telling me to pick up the dog by 12:40. I figured that, due to social distancing, I had to come in and keep to myself. I left one of the kids in the car to minimized the amount of people I brought in to the store and arrived 5 minutes early. I couldn't see into the grooming area because there was one way glass. I'm sure they could see me. I waited until 12:45 before I noticed a line forming behind me. I tried calling the grooming department to see if they were there or if I needed to reschedule. I called, the phone rang and rang before disconnecting. After a few more minutes, I went outside to let my kids know what was going on and tried calling again. Same thing...the phone disconnected after several rings. I came back in with one of my kiddos and was met by the rude boy with blue hair. I sternly stated that I tried to call and that they were not answering their phones and requested the name of the manager. At this point, the blue haired kid became unglued. He told me that there were only two people in the grooming department, that they were short staffed and that he was having a bad day. Then he asked me if I ever worked under those circumstances. In an effort to build rapport, I told him I worked in a hospital but he cut me off and chastised me for not wanting to listen to him vent. I asked for him to ring me up and he said "forget it." Then he asked me if I wanted the manager OR the dog. I told him that I wanted our dog and the name of the manager. As a small business owner, I'd want to know if the phones weren't working. This kid got worse. He brought our dog out and gave him to my daughter. I asked him to ring me up and he said "I'm not doing anything more for you." Then he took off to the other side of the store, tearing his mask off as he left. So, I'm standing there with no employee in sight. I felt a crowd gathering around so I told my daughter that we are going to leave and arrange payment later. An employee followed me to the door. I made eye contact with him but he didn't seem to want to help me at all. Upon getting home, I called corporate and told them what happened and asked for a bill. I hadn't so much as received a ticket form the blue haired kid. I have no idea what to pay except that I usually pay around $85- $100 for a grooming at a private salon (tip included). I don't know what Petco charges or what they did for the dog. What struck me was how verbally abusive and stressed out this kid was. His behavior made me noticeably uncomfortable. I wonder if this store is run by young people who lack business sense. In any case, if someone is willing to abuse a customer - what in the heck are they doing to our dogs? After paying for this grooming, I will NEVER spend another dime in a Petco so long as they stay in business. P.S. The dog looked good but I'm always happy when he has less fur to drag him down in the summer. Honestly, I would have been happy with anything. I'll try to come back and add a picture soon. read more

This place is pretty good considering that many corporate sized groomers just look at dogs as numbers. We had a really great stylist named Jonny who was really sweet to a rescue poodle we adopted. This dog was in bad shape; he had matted down hair and long nails. We dropped off a scroungy dog and got back a well-groomed Bichon Frise! We will definitely be going back. read more

Tried to shop at this store Petco #00913 on October 24th at 7:25 PM. The door was stuck open and I went in to shop. I was going to purchase some canned dog food, went up to the register. The employee told me the store was closed along with other customers.The hours on the front of the store were 9AM till 8PM. Employee told me again the store was closed and would not allow me to purchase the dog food. This store loss sales because of this employee. So, I love our neighborhood Petco. We adopted our dog, Rory, in November 2016 from thr Platte River shelter in Littleton. She had never lived with a family. She was so sweet & loving, but completely untrained. We needed some help. We had went into our local Petco (Quincy Ave) to get a dog tag and new leash/collar for her. They could see we needed help. Lol. One of the store associates told me about their dog training classes & the free puppy playtime they offered on Saturdays. This was right around Christmas and they had a Black Friday special going on for training classes. I bought 12 weeks worth. Tori was our trainer & she is amazing. She's patient with the pups & the owners. Lol. In training, an owner can feel stressed or discouraged with their dog, at times. Tori was always supportive and had a helpful suggestion. Rory went from being a pup who wasn't even house broken to a dog who can behave & show off a few tricks. We still have work to do & lessons to learn, but we have the tools now to do so. The staff & groomers there are also phenomenal. They are always there to help or answer any questions. I cant say enough good things about this place. read more

Katie and Allison do a great job as groomers. That said, I've repeatedly had problems with the manager, amber. As a military member, I move frequently and have often used PetCo grooming when I move. My 2 dogs are 3.5 pounds and very well behaved. At every single PetCo I've been to, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to give them a bath, sanitary, nail trim/buff, teeth and ear cleaning. At this one, Amber continues to insist that it will be 3-4 hours because they have other dogs to take care of so if I want them to be done in an hour then I have to pay extra. She's professional in explaining this, but why, out of all the PetCo's we've been to, is this the only one that has this policy. How do two 3.5 pound dogs take as long as 200 pound dogs??? I have my prior groomers reaching out saying that is crazy and they wish I could come back to their PetCo stores. I really need to work around amber's schedule so I don't see her anymore. She isn't running the grooming department well and it is always so sloppy in there. If it wasn't for Katie or Allison, I wouldn't come back. read more

Horribly incompetent staff. New to Yelp and felt like I needed to leave this review. We took our golden retriever in to be bathed and trimmed. This was in the fall when we normally trim him up ourselves to keep his fur from dragging in the snow. His ears are the worst because they get severely matted when they get wet. It always looks so choppy when we do it at home so I figured we'd send him to a salon. I scheduled the appointment for first thing in the morning, but ending up sitting at the front desk for over 35 minutes because they "weren't ready." I asked them to do a Puppy Cut which was recommended to us by other folks we know that have goldens. They responded like they were confident in what that was so I left feeling confident. They told me it would be a couple hours and that they would call me when he was ready. 4 hours pass and I've not heard anything. I call to check in and they say he isn't ready yet; no ETA on when he'll be ready. I'm told for the second time that they'll call when he's ready. 6 hours now and still nothing. I give them a call. It just rings endlessly. I call again. Same thing. Finally on the third time, they answer and tell me, "Oh yeah! He's been ready." ... I come in to find my poor animal SHAVED and left with a mohawk down the middle of his spine. I am in complete shock as I take him from the groomer. She then tells me that she decided to leave his ears as they were because she "thought they looked cute". I questioned why it was so short and she responded that he had matts in his fur that needed to be cut off. This is not true; we bathe and brush him frequently. My mouth fell to the floor and I left the salon in tears. Now my golden retriever is going into winter with nothing but a strip of fur down his back. They sent me a follow up survey to which I responded negatively. They reached out to me asking if I would contact them to resolve the issue. I didn't want the hassle, I just wanted to be done. I will never bring my pets back here or recommend this salon to anyone. Now, 4 months later, he is finally starting to look like himself again. read more

Stonewall and Jonny take amazing care with our mini poodle adoptie! He was saved from a Hurricane and thus has a lot of trouble with water, but these guys have always been amazingly sweet and have managed the things we have never been able to! Our cat is also groomed here, the only place where she has yet to have scratched someone! She was also an adoptie, we don't have a full history, but she tends to be very skittish around people. The fact these guys take such good care of her is amazing! These groomers are just the sweetest guys and are always my top pick for scared and comfort needing animals. read more

I took my small chihuahua dog to get groomed here and the service was terrible! After having my dog here for 5 hours, they call me to let me know they can't get him out of the kennel. My dog is a small 9 pound Chihuahua and they hadn't even started on his haircut after 5 hours! She explains that it was because they were trying to "catch a cat" (concerning) and are "really busy." They are clearly understaffed. They claimed that they had bathe my dog which, given by the smell, was not true. I will not be returning as my dog had a very traumatizing experience. read more

When we moved to the area 3 years ago we loved taking our dog here. Now you have to call and nobody answers, even when they call and let you know your animal is ready for pickup nobody comes out. I've waited over 20 minutes multiple times, not sure how anyone can even schedule since they NEVER answer the call. Went to pet clips down the street. They are awesome and definitely care for the animals they see! I will never return to Petco for their terrible customer service mostly, the cuts were just fine. read more

This store used to be good a few years back but since working in retail myself I have seen how this store falls short. Lots of freight just sitting out on the floor blocking area for customers to get around easily. I really like petco but this particular location just didn't seem to be a good fit for getting a vet clinic. The store was already so small as it is. I would much rather go to the Southlands location or even the store on Havana and Mississippi over this store if I had to. I went in to get an order I placed on line as the Southlands store didn't have it. First of all they grabbed the wrong item. But the cashier was kind enough to go find it. read more

I'd never shopped at a Petco before venturing into this one, adjacent to the closest Target that I visit rather frequently :) I decided to stop in out of curiosity and need. I've been trying to track down a certain litter for rodents (Cell-Sorb) and hoped I might find it here. They did not carry Cell-Sorb but did have the similar "Yesterdays News" brand. I've never bought YN before but I wasn't thrilled at the $10 per bag price tag (I doubt it's cheaper anywhere else). The store also sells rodents and parrots. I was rather alarmed at the number of Quaker parrots for sale in the store - there were 5. Quakers aren't illegal in Colorado, but they are in many states including our neighbor Wyoming. I can say that I was at least pleased to see that all parrots excluding budgies were in an air-tight room. Though an air-tight room would serve as a great quarantine area, I suspect the main purpose of its role at Petco is to protect the birds against drafts and cleaning agents used in the store (though I could be mistaken). Unfortunately, I found the store hard to navigate with a cart, and though I signed up for the Petco shopper's card, I doubt I'll be visiting very often. It's convenient since it's next to Target, but I'd probably go out of my way to visit a more organized store that doesn't sell animals. read more

This is my favorite Petco in comparison to the one in Southlands. The General or Assistant Manager is always on hand to help customers find things, get discounts, and even personally check you out and make sure you have just enough for your pet. They don't oversell things and give you things you don't need but the employees seem like your breath-of-fresh-air pet loving people. read more

The Store: The store itself gets 5 stars. I always bring my Husky (Koda) in here to buy treats and toys and they're always very helpful and nice to him. There's always a great selection and I've never had an issue with anyone there. Funny/scary story: One time the treats I bought him were these vanilla looking cookies with creme in the middle. I put them in his cookie jar and every time I opened it the cookies smelled so good. Finally I tried one and it turns out they were like the Great Value Vanilla Creme cookies you'd buy at walmart. After that experience, I don't buy him the cookie treats lol. The Grooming: This is where this place loses stars. I had gone in to get Koda's nails trimmed. I've only done this with him once. I was with him the whole time and there was no issues. I brought his muzzle just in case because he can get quite bitey if he doesn't want to be touched. The lady printed me out a receipt and told me to go pay, and said she didn't need his muzzle. I was a little apprehensive but stood in line for five minutes to pay. When I came back, Koda was muzzled and tied to a wall, crying and fighting with her because she was trimming his nails. She cut to the quick on all of his feet on at least two nails each. I was so disappointed and upset for my baby. I know Husky's are bad news when it comes to nails and such, but first time it ever happened to him, he wasn't muzzled and he did just fine. We wont' be going back here for the grooming. read more

Stopped in about a week ago for the usual dog food. Went to the normal spot and saw the rack was empty. An associate walked around the corner and I asked if she knew when they'd get more in(hoping it'd be soon so I didn't have to go out of my way to another Petco as the other pet store-place-not-to-be-named doesn't even carry it!)...this associate, obviously several months pregnant disappeared to the back and got me a fresh bag off the shipping pallet that hadn't been unloaded yet! Staff is always friendly and helpful here. Have seen the manager out in the blowing snow shoveling his sidewalks and dropping salt to make sure it's safe. read more

My experience at this location happened last year but a recent experience with a different Petco location prompted me to write this to warn others. When I went to this Petco to get my dog groomed (this wasn't the first time, but it has been a while since we last got her groomed at this location) we were stuck in traffic due to an accident on Quincy. I called them while we were in the car to let them know we were going to be five minutes late. When I arrived with my dog, the person at the groomers desk was an overweight white lady with dark brown hair in a short ponytail who glared at me and said meanly, "You said it was going to be five minutes. It's been FIFTEEN." I was taken aback but apologized. She then roughly handled my dog when she took her behind the counter but gave her to a very nice young girl who then led my dog on her leash to the back. The lady literally shoved paperwork at me and told me to sign it. I left the location stunned and mortified with how I was treated. I work in customer service and I know how hard these jobs are and I always try to treat people helping me with respect and understanding, but I'm shocked that this person treated me and my dog so horribly. It was the first time I filled out a customer survey with a bad review. Someone from Petco called me back after I submitted my survey, but I was terrified it was that lady again so I didn't answer (YES, this person was THAT horrible). Now that I read the other reviews, I'm pretty sure this is that Amber person that everyone else is complaining about. Anyway, because of this horrible experience, I'm pretty sure "Amber" or whoever they are left a bad message on my Petco account, because after I just tried to make an appointment at a different Petco, the person assisting me suddenly stuttered and nervously told me she would have to call me back later after I gave her my account details. Then the manager called me back, citing system issues. When I turned them down saying I made an appointment with a different groomer, the manager gave a relieved sigh. Tried to get soft claws put on my dog. Called before I came up here and was told I could get it done in about ten minutes. I came right up here and it took them at least 15 minutes to even get the computer crap done just to be told that they wouldn't do them today anyway! I asked for a manager only to be told that she didn't know the situation and that she just got there. I have never been treated so rudely. I went to take my cute Pomeranian puppy here for her first haircut and bath however she came back to me with short hair and no taper up the neck she looks like they didn't even bother trying to make her coat even. Also her paw beds were not trimmed at all and they only cut her nails on her front paws. Her nails were so long I had to do the back paws myself and then I went to go check her front nails and they cut them so short there was dried blood on her nails. I I'll never take her here again! Why am I receiving grooming appointment reminders when the grooming department is closed? I realize we are living in crazy times right now, but take a few minutes to cancel all reminders. My dog desperately needs to be groomed and I went in today because I got a bunch of reminders saying he had one today. But when I got in there they have signs posted saying they are closed. Visited this petco for the first time yesterday as a new cat mom. Came in here to purchase some high quality kitten food and toys. The manager there was so kind and helpful and was talking to me as I shopped around, however I take away two stars for the extremely rude check out girl. I don't know her name but she had long black hair with red streaks and a Taurus tattoo on her arm. No matter how nice I tried to be to her, she was short, and very dismissive and straight up RUDE when I asked about her day. When I told her I hoped she'd have a better day, she rolled her eyes and walked away. Wow. I live in highlands ranch so visiting this store was a stretch for me, but I'll definitely visit a different store, maybe a different chain, if petco hires these types of people.
