Made a grooming appointment for our rescue dog ~11.21.22 for Friday, 11.25.22 @ 11:00 AM. Got to the store, no groomer. The Manager said according to computer records (which he could not completely access) someone had called us a "few days ago" to change the appt. but was unable to get in touch. The number we gave Petco is a landline with an attached recorder; there was no message left and not even a missed call notice on our Verizon service. I totally wasted a Friday morning on my expected last ever visit to Petco. read more

I went in today to but 36 medium crickets and 30 of them was all males with wings and all. I keep my reptile enclosures in my room so that is not going to work. Imagine that 30 males all chirping at once while u trying to sleep not cool. It feels like a cricket farm was male heavy and they just accepted it and made it my problem. read more

Went here with a friend to just look around and the place was nice. The guy that talked to me told me the current deals and the place was super clean for how small the store was. My friend ended up buying stuff for her hamster. While I do have cats, I didn't buy anything for them. Definitely willing to go back to this store. read more

This Petco has by far the best groomers I have ever been to. I've taken my dog to boutique groomers and different chains before and I have she has never come out looking even close to how good she looks when she leaves this place. I have a 5 year old 55lb husky with an extremely thick coat that takes an hour just to blow dry. Because of this, most groomers just want to get it over with and don't even completely dry her. The groomers at this location take hours to dry her, burst out her undercoat, trim her paws, and shape her with clippers. It may be a little pricy, but they go above and beyond every time and Kira comes out looking like a show dog. I am extremely thankful for the care and attention they give. As far as the store itself, it's clean and well organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. I hope this helps. read more

Honestly, the rating would have been two stars if some one had not FINALLY asked if they could help me. I was standing back by the double doors into the back area, and I could hear conversations behind the door. My task was to find wet cat food for the elder cat we have. I looked around and sorted through the single cans of Proplan, and several employees walked by me, and did not say a word. I was looking for a specific type of food, and it took a while. Whoosh....by me the employees flew. (They walked through the vortex double doors into the back) :-) I also made eye contact with one employee, who swiftly walked away, and through the doors. Finally I think it was the manager who asked me if I found everything I needed. ((ahh my chance))!!. SO I explained what I was looking for, and he went back to the back (through those magic double doors)...and produced a case of cat food. The layout of the store is different, and I kind of liked it. The employees were more available, and friendly as I made my way towards the front of the store. I will say the critters and fish all were clean and well cared for. There is also a rescue that had several animals up for re homing. LOVE THAT. Some work on customer service, and your store would shine! read more

Same thing different day. Went to get something to treat my dog for fleas. I did not know what the best product was to get. So I read pretty much all of the flea and tick product labels. After untold dollars spent there, they would not make an exchange when I requested one at 33 days (not 30) and even when I explained being sick with COVID and staying away from public places. I went back this evening in hopes that I would find another team member there that would actually take the time to help me and not rude like Tuesday's event. As I walked in the cashier was very nice. She said hello to me and my son and asked if we needed help. I told her that I was giving the store one last chance for my son's sake after the poor service the other day. She said I'm sorry your experience was bad. If there is anything I can help you find let me know. 1 polite professional person works there. I felt a little positive with this. We walked to the fish dept and that is when my shopping experience went from feeling good to just wanting to leave. There was Kevin the man from the other day with the foul mouth on his cell phone doing something walking back and forth not caring about customers around the area and the other guy from my previous visit. They just looked at me and just continued to chat amongst themselves and laughing with possibly a shopper or worker I'm not sure. My son was getting impatient because he wanted fish. I told my son to look at the fish he wanted first because they were busy. As I was walking with him the tanks were filthy. Dead fish in several tanks. Nothing changed since the other day. I asked the tall man Stephen I believe his name was. He didn't have a name badge on today he did the last visitvif he could get my son some fish after asking a few people if they were next but told me they were just looking. He said sure he can help. I was being hopeful this would be quick and pleasant. I had my son show him what fish he wanted but he walked away from my son ignoring him to the other end where Kevin and the customer/worker was and continued to talk and carry on. My son got upset because he didn't help him. I got angry once again and walked over to them and asked if he would get my son some fish he said yes I will. He didn't even move. I walked away. I had enough of this store. A customer asked if I wanted to go ahead of him because he knew I was upset I said no I had enough. He said he did to he's been waiting over 10 mins for help but just been ignored. We walked toward the front together. I told him I called corporate and left a message on social media the other day but no one has reached out to me. He told me if I did get someone to pass his number along to the person I spoke with. If someone from Petco reads this I would love to show you the many pictures I took of the algae covered tanks. The dead fish in white boxes on the floor and the place they bag fish had dead fish on the counter. I have the pictures of the 2 hamsters they do have in stock but was told they don't have any. I have customers names and phone numbers from Tuesday that were appalled by the language being used and unprofessionalism they saw from the staff and would tell corporate about it. I would love to personally talk to corporate about this. This is not acceptable behavior. The cashier heard us talking and asked if everything was ok. I told her no I will not be returning and the staff here is extremely rude and unprofessional. My son was crying because again he didn't get his fish. The cashier tried to calm my son down and told him she will fix this. The gentleman also told the cashier he was ignored back in Aquatics and wanted the names of them. She told him Kevin and Stephen. Kevin was the manager on duty. I was shocked that someone like him would be a manager? Wow. Just wow Petco. I commended her for her professionalism and told her she made this visit bearable. Her name was Nicole. She offered to help us in Aquatics if we could wait a few mins so she can get coverage at the register but we all left. I took my son to your Lutherville location. I must say it was a very pleasing experience. The gentlemen took the time to show my son what fish he could get and gave him phamplets so he can read about them. He was so happy. That is all I wanted was for my son to get some fish and be happy. This took 10 mins of this mans time. I wish he had his name badge on so he could get a recommendation to help the Towson store. I hope someone from Petco corp would call me about my 2 visits. read more

I came to this Petco because it is close the the grocery store across the street and I missed that when I was down in Richmond, VA. I came in looking for some more grain-free food for my dog and was having difficulty between choosing from a couple different brands because the prices weren't labeled yet. I went and found an employee (which didn't take long) and he was immediately helpful. He was the manager of this location and immediately gave me some advice and help. He told me that the brands I was trying to get for my dog weren't a good idea because she was a house/lap dog and not enough of a working dog to justify feeding her a diet high in protein. Instead he suggested a different brand that still solved my main concern of feeding her food that doesn't aggravate her allergies. His information was based off of his training of his dogs (AKC) and I trusted his advice. Raina still looks and feels great and she loves her food (she's part lab though so she'll eat anything). I'll continue to visit this Petco because of their excellent customer service. I went in just yesterday and another employee was very helpful and attentive as well. read more

First off - yes they do have adoptable cats! Up front, to the right of the entrance when you first walk in. They aren't always there because rescue organizations bring them in for business hours and then take them back to their fosters/rescue facilities during off-hours. Ok, now for the review. It's a small store, and they don't have a huge selection of products, BUT I think they do well with what they have. The staff has been very friendly and helpful every time I've come into the store. The last time I was in, I needed to return something I bought from Petco.com. Luckily their return policy lets you return online purchases in their stores... the staff here was able to handle that quickly and without any issues. read more

Just blown away by the customer service here. My daughter got her first Betta fish at the store, and on two separate occasions we had employees go out of their way to help us. Knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating ... can't say enough about these guys and this store. read more

I went in to get some food for my dog the other day and the service was horrible! I was looking for a bag of food that wasn't on the shelf and when I finally found someone after 15 mins the person was rude and couldn't stay off his phone. He said he didn't have anymore in stock. I asked if there was anything in the back and he said no. He walked away still texting on his phone. I went to the register to complain but there was no one up there to talk to. There were 2 people in line and were upset that no one rang them up. This store is a joke! People read the comments. This store needs new employees and a good cleaning. read more

I am not to fond of this location by any stretch of the imagination. I often find myself passing it and driving down to the one in golden ring. The staff at this location to me, are not very friendly, or welcoming. They definitely are of no assistance. I have a bull dog who has a lot of allergies, gets a dry nose and has skin allergies. My vet tells me to go petco and pick up some remedies that would help my girl out... Sadly I couldn't take the vet with me because the staff really doesn't seem to know much about their product what so ever! Thank god I have an iPhone and could google while in the store and call my vet to figure out what to buy.... The store is generally clean and looks like the animals are taken well care of... Ya just the staff that veers me away. read more

Yes there are kitties: right up front. And all the staff was helpful. I overheard the groomer talking to a doggie mommy and she could not have been more helpful and caring-sounding. I may start bringing my pet here for baths as I feel the groomer would understand my dog's disabilities. I will never come to this Petco again. I called beforehand to inquire about a certain fish that I'm looking for. I was told that they had that particular fish so I came in to purchase one or two. So I get there at 3:00 pm yesterday. I ask the young gentleman is someone able to help me in aquatics. He tells me that he will call someone all the while I noticed he wasn't doing anything but hey whatever. So I go over to the aquatics dept and waited for 15 mins. As I continue to wait, I look at the different fish to find the tank I'm looking for. All I can say is there were quite a few of dead fish in different tanks. You can tell they must've been there floating for awhile. Some of the other fish starting eating on the dead fish which is definitely a No No! If the fish had some sort of contagious disease and the fish are eating the dead contagious fish..well you know where I'm going with this. It can become a whole fishy mess. Anyways, I also noticed the betta area was a hot mess as well. The fish hardly had any water in their already small cups. I get they just store them in those because they are fighting fish but can you please fill the water up to the line so that they can at least breathe. There was algae and other debris in those individual cups of water. After seeing this I walked back over to the same gentleman that was doing nothing and asked if there was anyone from Aquatics. He then told me he will call again and then amazingly enough the lady in aquatics came. She was of no help at all. I told her the fish I was looking for and she showed me the area. I then told her about all the dead fish and she seemed to not really care. I guess fish cannibalism means less mess for her but to me means possible sick fish being sold to others.. I felt bad for the fish as I tried to decide whether I would purchase or not. I had a couple questions about this certain fish but wasn't able to get them answered because the fish lady had gone MIA. I waited for about 8 mins for her return thinking she would be coming back to remove the dead fish but unfortunately she disappeared just like my interest in this particular establishment. So needless to say there were too many negatives for the outcome to be positive. I wanted to save a fish but I didn't want to risk getting a sick fish. The groomer decided to schedule a doctors appointment and was rude when I couldn't get out of work to accommodate her departure. In addition, this location charged me 40% more for the same service relative to nearby Petco's and did not make this known until after the fact. As a result, I encourage you to go to the nearby Petco's vs this one. read more

Great customer service at this location. Alex is an excellent groomer, so warm and friendly and very good with our older dog. She goes above and beyond to fit us in and recommends things we can do at home. Even the cashiers are friendly and will bring the heavy bags of dog food out to your car. read more

My animal has benefitted from grooming here. VERY reasonably priced, speedy, and my animal came back smelling like a cupcake- a good thing in my opinion. Yvonne is great- I understand she is the chief in the grooming department. My little animal loves to see her.
